Tía Pol is a Madrid style tapas bar that features small plates from the richly varied regional cuisines of Spain. From Galicia to Andalucía, from The Basque Country to Cataluña, Tia Pol invites guests to tapear around Spain in the heart of West Chelsea. A thoughtfully composed all-Spanish wine list offers selections that are representative of Spain's diverse viticultural heritage.
"My first time at this tapas restaurant, but,it won't be my last. Tapas is standardized but I think this restaurant is a step above your typical tapas. The dining area in the back is fantastic, but don't expect either space or privacy. It's airy and feels like you're in someone's kitchen though.
If you want to avoid tapas at the bar with the uncomfortable stools, make a reservation as opposed to dropping in. Don't be late though."

"I went for lunch on a beautiful Friday afternoon with a couple of my colleagues. The place is small and has very Willy B feel. The food was absolutely amazing but portions are definitely small, so if you're in a big group, you'll want to place more than one order of a plate. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and wine selections. However, they neglected to tell us when being seated that the fryer was down and we had to change our entire menu selection after we were ready to order. I would definitely go there again, especially to try the plates I didn't get to taste due to the fryer being down."

"I love and always will love Tia Pol. However, our service on this visit was definitely sub-par. When we walked in at 7pm, we were told there was another reservation at 930pm for our table. I thought, "Ok, they are just informing us." However, we felt rushed during the entire meal with someone coming every 3-5 minutes to see if we needed anything else or were done. I hope this was a fluke visit, but if it happens again, it may no longer be one of my favorite places in the city."

"Overall good if looking for a solid restaurant for a night out. Will most likely not return, but not because of the food or service... it was good, but just not great. With part of our group being from Spain, it would have been nice if the server spoke some spanish. But the service was efficient. One of those nights where nothing was wrong at all... just not that wow factor."

"Excellent service (personable and knowledgeable). Food was great, with both standard tapas and some creative specials! The restaurant is somall but that added to the ambience. The only complaint my husband had was that the seats / barstools were uncomfortable. I'm not sure there is such a thing as a "comfortable" barstool, though. I was too busy eating to notice how comfy my seat was!"

"really a very nice experience - some of the small plates were truly outstanding - the scallops with brussel sprouts, others were good and very good. It has a very modest noise level in the back room - only 12 seats at 2 "community tables", but it is very noisy up front at the bar."

"If you are looking for hot models and cute bartenders! Yes, you will definitively feel you are in Chelsea and this is your bar! If like me, you are looking for good Spanish tapas, you will be disappointed. Food is ok, but nothing compare to la Boqueria or José Andre's restaurants, or with a tapa's bar in Spain."

"It was a great choice for tapas. The food was unbelievable delicious. The ambiance was adequate and the wine list was perfect with great choices and prices. Best tapas I have had in NYC."
