"This was only my second time to this restaurant and it was very exciting for me, I brought my Wife and daughter and told them to order whatever their hearts desire and the next thing I knew food was coming in a great pace and great taste, we are a local family here on Kauai and this restaurant made us feel right at home. the evening went off without a hitch as we also ordered dessert and coffee. To all the staff and chefs Mahalo nui loa ( Thank you sooooo much) for making this mothers day dinner a memorable one."

"Joselein's Tapas Bar and Grill is one of the best dining opportunities on Kauai. Jean Marie Joselein's has been a master chef in Hawaii for a long time. (He was the owner and master chef at A Pacific Cafe in Kapaa.) The menu now is so full of exciting choices that it can be difficult to to choose. We had our usual favorites, including the Deconstructed Ahi, the Roased Feta Salad, and the Braised Short Ribs, all of which continue to be delicious and outstanding. In addition, we tried the Stuffed Calzone and the Roasted Asparagus, both of which were unique and delectable in their flavor combinations. Go early and beat the crowds. You won't find anything comparable to Joselein's on the island."

"Inventive menu with food combinations you wouldn’t think go together but result in bliss! Start out with one of the 3 choices from the Sangria Cart. Then dive into the small plates choices. Don’t miss the “Corn Brulee”. The manager, Andrew, was around all night checking on each table and making suggestions. Sara was our server and her knowledge of the menu was in-depth. She must be a foodie to be able to describe the preparation so completely. We trusted her judgment so much we came back a second time and left the choices completely up to Andrew and Sara."

"We visit the island 3 or 4 times a year and always hit Josselin's. Living in Chicago, we have many restaurant choices and count Josselin's among our favorites anywhere. Stunning flavors. The sangria cart is fun - three different choices and you can also order the Love Potion - made with sparkling wine. The menu changes often. The corn brule is one of the most inventive dishes I've had. Poached pork dumplings - just outstanding. We've never been disappointed with anything on the menu. If it sounds good, rest assured, it will be. The manager, Andrew, is delightful - he always remembers us and thanks us for the business and often provides a dessert gratis. If you can only have one special dinner on the island, make it Josselin's!"

"WWaayy too NOISY. NO Ambiance: almost like sitting in a cafeteria. All closed up windows with no outside dining or breeze. I spoke with manager, and he is 'aware' of the problem. There are so many nicer, less expensive restaurants within a mile, why on earth go here? I personally recommend The Beach House.... It is everything this place is not."

"Very long waits in between plates (45 minutes between the last two). They sell this as a tapas place but the plates are big and complex. They also recommend 5-6 plates for a table of two. I am a heathy eater and 3-4 is more like it based on their size. The flavors are good, but overall the experience was not. Don't expect tapas, that isn't what they serve. They serve uber complex dishes that are more remenissant of a typical restaurant than a tapas restaurant. Wouldn't recommend and don't plan on going back."

"We had a very large group, and since tapas are really about sharing, it did not work for us. Things came at all different times. Some folks were sharing, so they had to watch others eat. That was awkward. The food was delicious. I suggest this as a couples/date night place.
Also, the restaurant is extremely loud and noisy."

"My husband and I have been coming to Kauai for many years and Josselin's has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants. One year we went there twice in one week! Favorite dishes: deconstructed ahi roll, portabello and spinach "pucks," roasted feta cheese. They also make great varieties of fish. And don't miss the rolling cart of sangrias. "Josselin's is wonderfully decorated with original Hawaiian art, and has an innovative tapas menu. I can highly recommend the Rock Shrimp and the Butterfish. Service was very helpful and recommendations of the waiter were spot-on. Our only complaint was the noise level. It was fine after a boisterous party of 12 left. Why do people think that no one else is in the restaurant and shout to someone all the way down the long table? Please, people, the other patrons of the restaurant are trying to have a good time too, and don't want to hear your conversations. Overall, I can recommend Josselin's as a top-notch, delicious place to dine."

"We like that Josselin's offers a different menu from anywhere else on the island. From appetizers to salads to entrees the selections are great. "I thoroughly enjoyed the food here. As a chef they had a lot to offer. The only problem I had was getting initial service. Took about 15 minutes for any server to come by and greet us. The rest of the evening was perfect. Food was quick and they were accommodating. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Kauai. Glad to have good food somewhere other than Oahu."

"We eat at Josselin's every time we are in Kauai. The menu allows us to order several items and the portions are small which suits us. This time however the butterfish was overcooked which was a disappointment, but everything else was enjoyable. ."

"Exceptional food!!! Unique flavors creatively served Tapas meant for sharing served as the plates came up were nicely paced so each could be enjoyed and savored. I loved the beet salad, shrimp potstickers, and feta salad especially. Would definitely rate as a top choice."

"Overall a good experience, with a few snafus. Some from the food and others from service.
Really wanted to give it a higher rating,would definitely give it a second chance.
First the good: Kabocha ravioli, spinach and mushroom pucks and the beef shortrib. (I am a vegetarian, but when I saw it separate from the bone, I swooned.) Also the eggplant with the goat cheese fritter.
Beet ravioli should have been called a salad. No pasta there.
Mahi was dry and the flavors really didn't meld well.
Serving snafus: all fixable, but some training of waitstaff should happen. They work really hard though!"

"Four of us had early reservations. We ordered 6 Tapas. All were excellent. Interesting flavors, great presentation and their arrival was paced well and logically. We went away stuffed. Had to pass up the tempting desserts. This was our fifth time at Josselin's across 3 years. The food, service and presentation were consistently excellent across those two years. It is our favorite South Shore special place when we have first time visitors to Kauai."

"This place was a huge disappointment and a waste of money. From the moment we walked in and sat at the bar we were ignored. The bartender could not even give us a hello (there was only one other couple at the bar). He clearly was more concerned about making drinks for the servers than taking care of his bar customers. It took 15 minutes to get a glass of Saki! When we were finally sat for dinner we watched incredulously as servers walk by us and not once in 10 minutes did anyone come over to greet us. The manager (who originally sat us) walked by and said "let me get a piece of paper and take your order". My husband and I both looked at each other and laughed. We eventually did see our server that night...when we payed the bill!"

"Space was nice... The food was terrible. They were trying way to hard to be edgey. The flavors of the foods was muddled and didnt have any direction. None of the plates we ordered were good."
