Located in Philadelphia's rapidly developing Midtown Village neighborhood. With a rich history of exemplary fine dining behind them, the group was ready to branch out into a fresh, more casual territory.
"My wife and I are glad to discover this eatery. The staff was friendly and inviting. The wait staff carried out their duties without feeling rushed. The food was great. We had an arugula and a Caesar salad, both were great. For entrees we had the steak which was perfectly prepared and shared a fig and prosciutto pizza which was a wow. We need to get back to check out the pasta."

"Great traditional Italian menu in nice surroundings. Big windows at the front of the space provide great people watching along Locust Street.
Very nice selection of wines by the glass at reasonable prices.
The foccacia is addictive. Arugula salad was a perfect blend of peppery greens and lemony dressing. Caesar had a nice surprise of polenta croutons and white anchovies. Cod dish was very flavorful and the pasta with lamb sausage and broccoli rabe was a nice, assertive combination.
Service is attentive and friendly.
Just a few short blocks from the major Broad Stree venues. This will go onto our go-to list for pre-theater dining."

"We went to this restaurant before theater and found it to be very good. The gnochetti appetizer and the pasta dish were both quite good, the roast chicken was moist and generous but not exceptional. The wine special was great -- a nice Merlot ffor $5/glass. Overall, very good."

"My dining companion and I were very impressed with Spiga. The happy hour wine was good and reasonably priced. The bronzino was one of the best I've ever had. And the pasta dish, slivers of pasta with mushrooms and fontina cheese was savory and delicious without being too rich. The owner, Canio, is charming and welcoming. I'll be returning to Spiga!"

"Spiga offers a smaller menu, which I appreciate because they focus on doing those dishes well. They pick the variety of their dishes well to ensure there is something for everyone. Great specials each night."

"Spiga has high prices for small portions. Their menu is fixed price, but if you want to order a la carte, it's not clear how much each item costs. The food was good, but not good enough to make up for the lack of clarity in the pricing."

"Really a great place! The italian man at the door made you feel like family. The service was great. Everyone was so wonderful and nice. No rushing...but no long wait...was a perfectly timed meal. We will be back."

"After much anticipation, we finally made it to Spiga. Unfortunately for us they are less than willing to accommodate vegetarians beyond what is already on their menu. The only vegetarian appetizer they offered was $9 house salad that literally tasted and felt like mixed greens and lettuce out of a bag... You know what I mean, the kind you can buy at the grocery store. The vegetarian entrees were good, but very overpriced. It's unfortunate because we had high hopes for Spiga. My husband and I eat out quite a bit and are always able to find great veggie items on the menu or the chef is willing to whip something up for us. We were disappointed when Spiga did not accommodate us."

"Spiga does not seem quite ready for business. I think it may have been the kitchen rather than the servers, but we got entrees one at a time, with no explanation or warning. One item which was supposed to be served as an appetizer came out at the end. There was also really confusion about whether or not we could order individual items rather than take the whole pre-set Valentine's Day menu."

"The restaurant has a really nice ambience and the owner was really attentive to his guests. The staff seemed very inexperienced and kept getting things wrong on the menu; but at least they were gracious about it. The food was okay- I would recommend skipping the salad, but definitely order a pasta dish."

"The food was great! At first I thought my portion was a bit small but found out that it was just right and I felt full and happy when leaving. The owner was kind and the waiters were attentive and friendly. Definitely get a pasta dish, the noodles were homemade and absolutely delicious!"

"The food was good, but the service was very slow. My party only ordered 3 dinners (pizza, pork chop, chicken) and they took approximately 45-50 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Also, the server was unable to answer questions about a few of the menu items."

"The food was very good, as was the service. As a vegetarian, I typically do not dine out at Italian restaurants as it is usually too meat-centric and I would have to settle with a pasta in tomato sauce. That is what I did for my entree this night as well. The pasta was delicious, although the price was a bit steep for what it was (15 or 16, if I recall correctly). The accompanying bread was delicious, and I could eat that for days. I should note that I came here because I bought a Groupon-style card ($20 for $40). I probably would not have dined here if it were not for that."
