"Another great meal at Chef Joseph's. Brought in a work group for dinner and everyone enjoyed it. The Chef dropped by and made recommendations, food was excellent (be sure and try the calamari!), and the ambiance provided the right feel for our group. A stellar night from start to finish!"

"From the moment we were greeted at the door our experience was fantastic. We especially loved the lobster bisque and crab cakes for Easter brunch. The wait staff was so attentive and friendly. We felt like we were guests in their home. It was especially nice to have the time to meet and talk with Chef Joseph. We felt right at home. Thank you."

"Just a wonderful restaurant, great food, beautiful ambiance, and amazing service. They were quick to greet us, seat us and serve us. The feel of the place takes you back, with the smooth live jazz singer and the deep red velvet couches/seats. Excellent restaurant and I will definitely be back!"

"Aha! Ahi tuna! Burgers with Chef Joseph's sauce slightly oozing toward the edge of the plate---MMMMMM! In-house sliced potatoes that if called mere potato chips would insult the mother potato. Where else but Chef Joseph's would the bartender know how to create the perfect rusty nail? Top flight pianist and vocalist combo treated us to the finest sounds as our waiter made sure we wanted for nothing. If you are entertaining a foreign dignitary or deserving family from far away--- this is the fine dining experience to share with your finest guests!"

"Ah! The Chef Joseph experience is a mid-winter ocean cruise on the finest European cruise line! Server attention is unequaled, as is the entire wait staff. The wine list never leaves you wondering what might have been offered. The bartending expertise is beyond most establishments. Chef Heidenreich presented the finest scallop and sliced beef entrees that left you more than pleased. A butter cream desert shared with my wife was sensuous, sweet, and beyond 'foodie' pleasure. With quality live music playing and the beautiful dining room, there was nothing to want; truly a class experience!"

"This place has everything! The food was wonderful, offering everything from salads to sandwiches to mains, with everything we tried at the five star level. The mood was great, with a jazz singer rendering soft classics throughout the evening. The prices were surprisingly low given the quality of the experience.
We not only would, but have recommended this to friends. It can be romantic, lively (if you sit nearer the bar or singer), casual, or formal, depending on your mood and desire for the experience.
This is a top find we loved!"

"We had the Mother's Day brunch this past Sunday. EVERYTHING was out of this world. The service was fantastic and even Chef Joseph himself came out to greet and chat with everyone. I am looking forward to having dinner there one night when we are in Indianapolis. Excellent!"

"-Our first time here was Mothers' Day Brunch, so it probably wasn't an example of the norm, but we enjoyed it immensely - and I am sure that will be the norm!
-We expected the food to be great since we loved Chef Joseph's former restaurant, Agio. We weren't disappointed. Many unusual twists to familiar foods.
-The service was superb. We needed help with an older person in our party navigating the buffet and someone was always there. The server was also very attentive.
-The room is very intimate, kind of a 1930-40s supper club feel. Completely wood-paneled room and bar, dark red carpet, red velvet settees and one wall of mirrors with dark red drapes. Live music is played many nights during the week.
- We will return for certain!"

"I went there for lunch on a Friday and it was a very quiet, calm place to meet. Not at all crowded. Good atmosphere and service that is attentive but not hovering. The menu is not very extensive though, so check it out before you go to make sure there is something on the menu you want. The calamari is very good and my bison burger and friend's brat was also very good. Nothing disappointed."

"The overall dining experience was so-so. The food was good but limited portions. The manicotti was tasty but would not enough for a man. The menu was limited providing only choices. The chocolate creme brulee with orange glaze was delicious. The food and drinks were a bit pricey for the quality and quantity. We were dressed up under the impression that Chef Joseph's was a classy place however we were greeted at the door by the manager who had on jeans and a very wrinkled shirt. In fact the wait staff dressed better than him. Waiter was personable and efficient but did forgot an item we ordered. The pianist and singer were excellent. The atmosphere was the only good piece of this restaurant's experience. We will not return."

"The only complaint I had is our seating. Had a reservation for two and we were stuck in the bar area. Another couple had the amazing huge comfy looking round table to themselves and the other round table went empty the whole night. Would have really liked to have had the romantic experience that your restaurant is known for. Food and service were excellent."

"The appetizer Was very good (breaded asparagus). My blueberry lemonade martini tasted watered down. The salad loke like it came from a bag, and was a little shriveled. The main course was just ok. We had the beef medallions. The mashed potatoes need seasoned (a little bland). We share a dessert. It was good but very small. Our waiter was very attentive."

"My out of town friend who is a vegan, and I had dinner on Saturday night at my favorite restaurant, Chef Joseph's. There was no problem with Chef Joseph preparing dinner for my friend. Dinner was perfect, as was the service and the jazz as well. It was a terrific night."

"I celebrated my one year anniversary at Chef Joseph's and I could not have been happier with the evening! From the piano, drinks, food, service, and overall ambiance Chef Joseph's far exceeded my expectations. "We wanted to try a new place for Easter Brunch, and were more than pleasantly surprised by the warm ambiance and cozy atmosphere. The food was gourmet and the piano and '40's-style lounge singer just added to an already great experience. Very nice."

"The alligator tail appetizer looked like something that came off of a late night bar menu. Actually, I think I've eaten better alligator off of a late night bar menu. The service was horrendous!! Our appetizer arrived before our bottle of wine. The eggplant ravioli mediocre and our other main dish was so terrible I can't even recall what it was. We were finished with our meal in under an hour and only had one glass of wine each out of the bottle. We asked for our waitress to cork it so we could take it with. She returned with it in a brown paper sack that she twisted around the neck of the bottle, making us look like a couple of bums that grabbed a fix from Kahn's just around the corner. Horrible experience!!!"

"While traveling to downtown Indianapolis to celebrate our anniversary, we decided to give Chef Joseph's a try for dinner. We tried the Ravioli and the Mahi for dinner, along with the Connoisseur martini. Everything was meticulously prepared and presented, and the waitstaff were ready for every possible need. Having arrived just before 7pm, the restaurant was a little quiet at first, but quickly started to fill up once the live music started playing. Overall, a memorable experience - too bad our cab driver had no idea where it was!"

"We go to Chef Joseph's often because they so reliably deliver a great dining experience. The live music on weekends provides an ambiance you don't find many places in Indy. We ordered a smoke salmon quesadilla as a starter that was so good and simple I plan to recreate it for a dinner party I am hosting. The lamb steak was divine, cooked to perfection and the sauce was very tasty. Chef Joseph recommended a wine for us that complimented the food perfectly. We shared a slice of cookies and cream cheese cake that was decadent.
I highly recommend Chef Joseph's for a great food experience in a relaxed environment."

"My fiance and I had a great time! We had the Valentine's Day menu, and the food was incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant. The tables were fairly close together, which makes for an uninviting child situation. The ambiance for a romantic setting was perfect though. Music was wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better time than we had here. We will definitely be going back."
