"This is our second time at The Capitol prior to going to a show at the Hobby Center. We were able to get in and out in a timely manner. The Thursday night steak specail is a great value; 8-10 oz steak, mashed potato, vegetable, salad and a glass of wine for $18. The other menu items we have enjoyed include the short rib tacos appetizer (enough for a meal), roasted tomato basil soup (a cup is enough because it is a rich soup) and spicy pasta. Our server was very attentive and checked to ensure our drinks were properly made to our taster."

"There were four of us in our party. Upon arrival we were taken right away to our table. The restaurant was empty... 7:15pm on a Saturday Night. There was a centerpiece with our reservation, name, number of people in our party and reservation time in the center of the table. I thought this was a nice touch. Privacy issues do exist though...
The wait staff were very attentive, starting with sharing the wine specials... four bottles were half off. We picked one and started our meal. All the food was very tasty with one minor issue, my mashed potatoes under the steak were cold, everyone else at the table were served hot food. We especially liked the short ribs, brisket chilli, Big John ribeye and seabass."

"One of the more enjoyable restaurants I've had the pleasure to enjoy. Staff was very attentive and the manager also made several appearances to inquire if all was as expected. They make you feel like you are the most important customer they have."

"This is a great little restaurant Downtown. We ate an early dinner, and only 2 other tables had guests along with a party upstairs. The decor was really nice. Service was great, but not as attentive as you'd think with so few diners. Cocktails were tasty, though a little pricey. I had my first Skinny Margarita, and it was a winner. Arugula and Goat Cheese salad was great. I never thought about pairing goat cheese with figs, but am going to try to make this at home. Dessert was just the right size for a treat without the guilt, and, at only 2.95, quite the deal! Altogether, the two of us paid $61 for two cocktails, 2 entrees and two desserts. The view will be greatly improved once street construction is finished."

"This was my first time to Capitol. I was looking for a nice restaurant with good food that is close to the theater district. It was a Thursday night at 6pm. There was a oil industry happy hour in the front. We sat in the main restaurant. Only one or two other couples were interspersed throughout the dining room. I imagine later and with the live music, it would pick up.The hostess and waitstaff were amazing. They were attentive, friendly and even funny at times. They gave great suggestions.We both had steak, but two different cuts. Mine was the T-bone and too marbled and over seasoned. My date enjoyed theirs, but I tried it and it was better; however, I wasn't impressed. Overall I like the place. I'd give it another shot."

"A special celebratory lunch for 7 with an 11:45 am Friday reservation. We arrived to an empty restaurant and were seated and beverage orders given. We then ordered lunch and proceeded to wait. After we were seated two large groups arrived were seated and their orders taken. The table for 10 to our left ordered after we did, received their food and were finishing up before we received our food. When the food arrived at 12:40 the soups were cold, and missing silverware (soup spoon and knife) took an extraordinary long time to be provided. Ice tea and water glasses were very slow to be filled and only after several requests.

I spoke with management the following day and as would be expected got excuses. They did offer a free lunch"
