"Aura recently moved to Sugar Land Town Center and we were curious about the new location. We enjoyed an excellent anniversary dinner, and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special night out on the town. We ordered the filet mignon and the duck, and both entrees were delicious and perfectly cooked. The dessert trio of profiterole, creme brule and bread pudding was yummy! The service was excellent without being obnoxious. The ambience was interesting, although carpeting would add warmth to the interior. But we thoroughly enjoyed our evening of celebration and think the location change will work in Aura's favor."

"My family and I have been going to the Aura's in Missouri City and were delighted that the same owners opened a restaurant in the Sugar Land Town Center. We went for the first time on Tuesday to celebrate a late Mother's Day. The food, atmosphere, and service was excellent as always. We are always impressed when eating at either of the Aura establishments."

"Prix Fixe menu sounded good; execution was fair at best. Plenty of room for improvement.Ordered mustard crusted rack of lamb cooked medium, and ended up with overcooked 4oz of meat."

"A great new spot for a wonderful experience. Sugar Land now has a great lunch and dinner venue. Recommend to all. Their lunch special is a great value! Try it. Easy to make reservations on Open Table."

"Kinda lost in the Town Center strip, Aura is a good spot if you want something a little more refined. About as pricey as Perry's, but more intimate and, of course, more French. Worth a try."

"Aura is my favorite restaurant in Houston. Chef Perrier has high standards and the food never disappoints. The softshell crab starter was excellent, crispy and succulent, with a mild pepper mayo. I had the chicken crepes with mushrooms and spinach. They were tender and tasty with a mild cream sauce. My companions loved their brunch entrees. The eggs Benendict with salmon and the croque madame with truffle butter were hits!"

"Aura is a classic french retaurant in the heart of Sugar Land's Town Cener. The service was excellent and the overall the food was good. I had trouble with my steak in that they tried to convince me that the ribeye I was served was in fact the sirloin strip I ordered. I sent it back and opted for the Duck Confit which was quite delicious. My wife order the Chef's choice Foie Gras and was presented with a HUGE portion. It was quite tasty and a great value.
The place is small and attempts to remind you of a french bistro in its atmosphere with the large red leather booths on the walls and the granite tables but fails when it comes to the miniscule bar area and the glass sculptures on one wall. They are so out of place. I'll go again."

"I prefer the prior location's atmosphere better but still great food and service. Extra kudos to the chef for making us the now off-the-menu truffle mac and cheese. Our server was great!"

"Enjoyed a quiet evening in the uncrowded but smallish dining room. This venu might get noisy if filled. Food and service were excellent and the wine suggestion worked nicely. Try the Beignets de Crabes."

"Went to look at pianos in Sugarland and look what we found. Really good beet salad with goat cheese. Very good food and unpretentious, which for me is a bonus. My partners had the Loup de Mer (bass) which they really liked and I had the game plate (duck breast, quail breast and venison sausage) which I thought was excellent. Nice desserts also."

"The food and service were very good. The tables were packed in so you'll want to avoid if your the slightest bit claustrophobic. The service was a bit rushed which was perfect for us but may not suit others. We'll definitely be going back."

"A group of co-workers went to lunch at my suggestion and everyone came back to work happy which doesn't always happen. 2 of us got the 3 course business which is an excellent value and we really enjoyed our selections. I had the fish cake and salad for the appetizer and my friend had the escargot. We both had the blackened fish for the appetizer and the tarte tartin for desert. Another had an entree salad (don't recall which one) but it had two parmesan encrutsted aspargus spears on the top and it looked wonderful. Lastly another had the steak, frites and salad and she ate every last bite! The service was very attentive and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. It was a little noisy but we were seated next to a table of 12."

"This place was very loud and very crowded. The server was very good but the service was not that great. They were packed and I think the service suffered as a result. The food was excellent. Don't know that I'd make the effort to go again."

"We have been a few times to this location and the food has been outstanding. This review represents a minor stumble on their part. I am confident it was a one-off event as I have been in this business for many, many years and can tell whether a place is the real deal or not. They are too good to repeat this experience."

"A welcome addition to Sugar Land's dining scene. Enjoyed the atmosphere and unique menu. The service was friendly, though a bit rushed, while the manager's attitude appeared to be less than cordial. However, the Chef / owner made an effort to stop by and check on our table, while answering questions, and extending a warm invitation to return for a casual evening. The staff could use a little polishing, which I suspect will come in time. All in all, Aura Brasserie has a nice atmosphere, excellent food, and a reasonable wine list. We will recommend to others, while looking forward to our return."

"Aura has become, apparently, the home of Sugar Land's most expensive vodka martini...$13. And it might also be one of the smallest, which the manager was quick to arrogantly try to justify. Not in itself a big deal but, when compounded with the manager's indifferent attitude, one that negatively impacted an otherwise pleasant outing. Never again..."

"We made reservations for Valentine's day. The food was very good, but I felt terribly rushed the entire time. I like to take my time looking at the menu and drinking a glass of wine before ordering. As soon as we sat down, I was asked what I wanted for the entree and the salad was being delivered at the same time. I felt they just wanted to get us our as quickly as possible so that they could free up table for someone else. The overall experience didn't live up to the set price.
I would go back, but not for an occasion such as Valentine's."

"We live in Missouri City so when Aura moved to Sugar Land we were anxious to try it. The decor is beautiful, the service excellent, and the food was wonderful. The only complaint we have is that when the restaurant is full (which it was) it was so noisy that you could hardly carry on a conversation."

"The food was amazingly good and quite a surprise, considering the rather casual atmosphere. Obviously, they are really trying to make a name for themselves, and I think they will succeed. I will definitely recommend Aura, and will visit again soon."

"The food and service was excellent. My husband and went for our anniversay, but the noise level is so high, it is hard to carry on a conversation. I would not go for a romantic evening again. We miss the atmosphere at the original Aura."

"Outstanding food, presentation, and service. Sugar Land Town Square's only option to eat what the owner is cooking. This place is great and it's hard to imagine this will not appease the residents of Sugar Land who find it necessary to travel into the Galleria or Downtown for food this good."

"Considering the cost I would not go back again. The food was good but not excellent. The atmosphere is not what I would consider special. Though we had plenty of wait staff they are not well trained (food came to the wrong table, not serving food from one side, asked twice for lemons, etc.). Lastly the restaurant required me to come in and sign a form stating I would be there or they would charge my credit card. It was Valentines Day however I made the reservation Open Table (not a sure thing) but then Aura called a couple of days later asking for my CC to hold the reservation which I was happy to do. A week later called and made me come in. I have never had to do this even at the most expensive restaurants."

"This was our first visit to Aura - we will definitely be back! The location was great, situated directly within Sugar Land's Town Center. The restaurant was small, but cozy. The crab beignet and salmon trio appetizers were delicious, as were the filet mignon medallions with truffle risotto. My husband had one of the specials of the day, the beef cheeks with shortrib canneloni - very good! At the recommendation of other diners, we tried the profiteroles for dessert. The portion size was huge (one order was enough for the two of us to split), and was just as delicious as the rest of our meal."

"We found Aura when it was in Missouri City and were pleased to see the Sugar Land Brasserie open. A really wonderful and unique place to dine in the Sugar Land area. Our waitress was particularely outstanding, and they had a wine we had previously only found in a French Quarter resturant. Excellent!"

"I had one of the single best meals I can remember the other night. All four courses were fantastic, from the Tomato & Blue Cheese salad to the Foie Gras to the Wild Game plate to the Apple Tart. The recommended bottle of South African wine was also great, as was the service.
Just great!"
