"The steak was very good, but was not red and juicy but more like a veal chop color, however the side dishes were without flavor especially the mashed potatoes, very watery. The Caesar salad was wet, perhaps the lettuce was not dry when dressed. I was so looking forward to this dining and was very disappointed."

"$48 for bread, a small salad, an 8oz filet, and one side and the quality and taste of the steak here was definitely not on par with (and was more expensive) than steak back home (Texas). My boyfriend had steak and I had the steak salad. I ordered rare and it was medium rare, but I was too hungry to send it back and wait.
Overall, the food was good for VT. Had we not been spoiled with great food, large portions, and reasonable prices on our trip to Texas the week before, we would have been more impressed I'm sure.
Bread, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, 4 drinks = $130 before tip. The cheese, bread, and mashed potatoes were great and the rest of our meal was mediocre. We'll return, but I won't order the steak."

"Enjoyed the quiet feel of the dining room, although it was a Monday and many tables were empty. The ambiance was very nice. Loved the scallops, much less impressed with the steak. The bartender was a joy to talk with prior to being seated for our meal. The Cesar salad was disappointing, not much flavor. Overall we had an enjoyable evening."

"Dinner at Guild was great--I loved the diversity of the menu and the local/sustainable/farm-to-table concept. I was a bit confused, however, when it was stated that the grass-fed beef was grain-finished. No seafood on the night i went, disappointingly, but I'd rather eat fresh seafood than old.
I so appreciated the cocktail menu, although our dinner party opted for wine with dinner. The wine list was great, but by-the-glass offerings were much too expensive. The $15/gls Duckhorn Decoy I can get at the Hinesburg Public House for $9...

"I ordered the Fried Day Boat Flounder-the waitress called it "Fish and Chips"- It was totally overdone the color of dark brown after taking a bite I realized the fish had been emulsified in the batter and the only resemblance of being fish was a slight taste which was hidden by the over cooked batter- the fries instead of looking like the picture on the home page were dark brown to black and lacked any potato taste and many were inedible as they were hard and crunchy. Since I was with younger children and it was late I did not send the meal back. Everyone else in our party enjoyed their meals and our server was great."

"Other than terrible service, atmosphere and mediocre food quality, Guild was OK.
I know they're trying to be high end steak house, but they should perfect the restaurant basics before getting in the pool with the big boys. We could have had better service (much better) and at least equal food at the Outback and would have saved $$$$$$.

"Attentive wait staff without being overbearing. When my daughter and I weren't happy with the "cocktail of the day", we were offered other choices with no questions asked and were not charged for the cocktails. The ribeye steak for two was a good deal with salad, two sides and two accompaniments included. The meat was tender and delicious- cooked to perfection. A salmon tartare starter had a nice pairing of spicy kick and tangy flavour. My scallops were equally good but I would have enjoyed a few more. A very good meal but a tad pricey for the Burlington area."

"My husband and I have been waiting to go to Guild & Co since it opened, but were intimidated by what we heard about the prices on the menu and the long wait, even if you have a reservation.
We went on a Friday night, about 6:45pm. We had a reservation, and got seated immediately. I suggest if you want to avoid the wait, arrive before 7:30pm.
The asparagus appetizer is divine! I highly recommend it. The brisket was also very good, and although my chicken sandwich was a bit dry for me (I am pretty picky), the herb aioli it came with made up for it.
And for prices: the steaks are expensive (and I assume worth it), but everything else was the average price you'd find at any other non-chain good restaurant.
Bottom line: We'll be back!"

"Great cocktails, fantastic food. This was our fifth visit in about as many months, so the menu is getting a little stale, but the dry aged steaks are always a treat. The side dishes are very good. The only drawback of the entire experience is the noise. There seems to be no sound deadening material on the walls or ceiling, so it's a little loud if you're there at popular times."

"Dinner was *exceptional*. I enjoyed my new 'best meal I've ever had' from start to finish. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was perfection, seriously there was nothing about our experience at Guild & Co. that wasn't outstanding. My menu for the evening: steak tartare which I sadly did not get a picture because it looked so amazing we had to dive right in and it was SO good it made me giggle with the first bite, fresh, warm and crusty bread with fresh-made whipped butter, a properly made Caesar salad for two, a 30 oz. in-house aged, locally raised, table-side carved rib-eye for two served with a side of potato and leek gratin, a proper cup of espresso and finally and toe clenching good carrot cake made by the in-house pastry chef."

Main course - Crab cake unusual, crab finely ground up with other ingredients, tasty but not exactly our preference. Bacon-wraped monkfish special was fine, very heavily wrapped in bacon (too much for my taste) leaving relatively small portion of fish (maybe 4 oz) pretty dry and salty. Very good peas and squash accompaniment.
Dessert - mocha cake was quite good. No real chocolate desserts, unfortunately for me.
Service - waiter had good approach, but two mistakes - ordered a bottle of wine, but someone else brought only a glass and the salad arrived without the requested dressing on the side.

"We had a great experience. The service was PERFECT. That goes a LONNNNG way...but then, the ambience, and the FOOD were superb, too!! My crabcake was not remarkable, but it was good....I will have a steak next time I visit. My date's Fish was wonderful - crispy, fresh perfection. I really appreciate the cocktails - keep it up, I'll be back at the bar for a snack and a cocktail! The cheese choices for our appetizer were yummy and local - thank you, LOCAL is important to us. There was plenty on the menu for everyone, even a vegetarian, good move! Definitely enough choices there to make us come back and bring friends and know everyone will be happy. LOVE the ambience."

"This is our second visit to Guild, and the food was even better the second time (which was a difficult hurdle to clear)! I had the chicken special, which was far more than a boring chicken dish-- the components were masterfully prepared and I thoroughly enjoyed the dish. My boyfriend took care of a 12oz dry aged ribeye which was cooked to perfection and more succulent that the sirloin from his last visit. The service is great, the drinks are amazing (try a tequila daisy) and we enjoy the diverse menu options."

"I'm not normally a steakhouse kind of gal, but we wanted to see what the hype was all about, and Guild definitely lives up to the hype. We finally had a chance to try the World's Best Beer from Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro, and my first sip was so evocative and complex, it was almost psychedelic. Wow. We started by sharing the rabbit terrine, delicate and delicious, and complimented by perfectly grilled bread, pungent coarse mustard and lip-puckering cornichons. For dinner we shared the bone-in ribeye for two, which came perfectly cooked and carved tableside with two excellent sides: rich creamed kale & spinach and a lovely potato leek gratin, some grilled onion on the side and Cyrus Pringle sourdough. Really a perfect Sat night."

"Aside from the noise level (a bit hard to hear others at our table) the overall experience at Guild and Company was excellent. It was our first visit to the restaurant and we came to Burl, from Newburyport, MA. We loved the interior and the food was first-rate. Burger was to die for, Bass was perfectly prerpared, and the Meatloaf was extraordinary (Not your mother's meatloaf, but my Mother thought it was superb!)"

"My date started with a salad which came in a good size portion of a bowl. I had the 10 oz sirloin and my date had an 8 oz filet. Both steaks were ordered medium and were fantastic. We both also got the buttermilk whipped potatoes which was delicious. The accompaniments we got were blue cheese butter which my date liked and I got the steak sauce which was sweet and tangy very delicious. Overall good experience me u is a little pricey. Our server was great very friendly and always smiling."

"The service was outstanding, our waitress and the extended wait staff were extremely competent, cheerful, and friendly. The food was excellent. My wife and I had the bone-in Ribeye for 2, gratin potatoes, spinach & Ceasar salad. One of the best meals we have had. We were in the upstairs room with the fireplace, great atmosphere. "The food was good although the appetizers were not that great. The cocktails good but overpriced. The space is very noisy so much so it was unpleasant.
