The Tower Bar & Terrace
The famous Sunset Tower Hotel has undergone its first major renovation since the 1980's. The Tower Bar & Terrace Restaurant is now located adjacent to the newly designed lobby and offers a swank lounge, bar and al fresco dining experience. Custom made banquettes fit directly into windows that showcase an unparalleled view of the Los Angeles skyline. Art deco design influences include walnut with gold inlay trim in a subtle, muted color scheme. The delectable menu features California Bistro with Italian fare. A dress code is enforced, please call for information.

"We read an article in Departures magazine that told of the birth of the Cobb salad in the 1920's by Bob Cobb, owner of the Brown Derby in Hollywood. Now you can get the very same Cobb salad at The Tower Bar in the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood.
An AWESOME salad, FANTASTIC service (Abby was our server and she was MAGNIFICENT) and you would not believe the view. We had a wonderful time and can't wait until we head back to California for another visit at The Tower Bar."

"Wonderful as always! I love the ambiance and the piano player. The bartenders are wizards of their craft. Tell them what you like and they will mix up a spectacular drink. And of course Demetri is the best. One of my favorite places to visit in Hollywood."

"Came to the Tower Bar for the location, the scene and to treat my 24 yr old daughter to a special dinner in Hollywood. The Tavern delivered- great table on the Terrrace overlooking L.A. with a nice "feels happening" vibe. Service was outstanding and knowledgable. Food was excellent- though I am not coming back for the food as much as the vibe. Very pricey by the way, but worth it for a special experience in the L.A. Area."

"The seafood tower was terrible, skimpy and not worth the money, but the tuna tar tare was very good and the veggie sides were good. Just a bit irritated because our waiter told us the seafood tower was "very substantial" when it was really quite anorexic if you ask me, plus the clams were not good at all. Just feel like our water tried to sell us an expensive item and wasn't one of those waiters you think, "wow they were great." Plus the menu was not all that interesting or impressive. Boo."

"We recently booked a reservation through OpenTable (2 weeks in advance) for seating INSIDE the Tower Bar, as we discovered on our first attempt at booking a Saturday night that default seating is relegated to the outside, which is no fun on a cold, January night.
Upon arrival, we were seated along a support beam next to the corner booth with the view (I am guessing this is the best seat in the house). Me being 6'2" and with the two of us sitting at a small 2-top table was not going to be pleasurable. Thus, I inquired about the corner booth, which was empty. The very dismissive maître d' was quick to snap that that table was for more than 2 guests, which was understandable. To our dismay, just 5 minutes later, they seated a couple."

"Unfortunately, our experience was not met with satisfaction. Maitre D' Dimitri treats you poorly if you are not "celebrity" guest...beware you may be delegated the the Tower Terrace (non celebrity status) if you do not clarify from the beginning that you wish to sit in Tower Bar, when you book through Open Table. I had to take my grievances had to the GM of Hotel who again reiterated same; however she is well versed in customer satisfaction."

"We had made a reservation and when the hostess called to confirm we were told we could not sit in the Tower Bar but would be in the Terrace Room. We were very disappointed when we were seated and saw that we were in a room that was basically "Siberia" with no ambiance. We said that if we couldn't sit in the restaurant we would just leave and they were able to accommodate us after about 15 mins. We then enjoyed our meal."

"I have dined at Restaurants across the Nation and I find this Restaurant one of the very best! I would not only recommend but plan several of my next business ventures/meetings at this location! The wait Staff was direct and moved deliberately and concisely when describing the menu and my server was extremely professional and courteous not to mention exact when I asked him for a recommendation on a particular Wine.

"Stayed at the hotel for two nights to celebrate our anniversary. The first nice we were shunted off to the terrace as we presumably were not perceived as being A-List patrons, though this was not unexpected. The second night we had an 8:00 p.m. reservation, and two of our children came to the hotel to dine with us. We were not seated until 9:30 p.m. If I had not been staying at the hotel, I would have walked.Once seated, the service was first rate. The two stars for are the result of the interminable delays, and not the service once seated. Once seated, the service would be close to a 5. The food is unremarkable. It is clearly a place that people go to be seen because one can get far better food for less money elsewhere."
