Coming Soon to Everedy Square and Shab Row. Eastern Mediterranean Cuisine with a strong Greek, Turkish, and Lebanese influence, served in small plates called "meze."
"We had a great dinner on Mother's Day. I love all the different choices and everything is so flavorful and fresh. The service was friendly and helpful. Nice variety of wines from different locations around the world."

"1-Ayse Meze Restaurant appeared to be overwhelmed by the Mother's Day crowd. There were numerous occasions where servers were wandering about, unsure which table the food they were serving was intended to go. In one instance our waiter went to an adjoining table and retrieved a dish intended for our table. 2- The noise level was extreme 3- One of the fire exits was blocked with a stack of chairs."

"My wife and I were in Frederick for a day of antique shopping Mother's Day weekend. I found this place through reviews on the web, all of which were glowing. They were right, we had a really great lunch. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The waiter was great, too,"

"A few things set Asye apart from a typical good Greek restaurant, notably its Turkish dishes such as the cigar trio well matched with sauces and a good Turkish wine by the glass. The manti was tough, and the special octopus dish kept us searching for any identifiable octopus. For above average Mediterranean fare with good service, Asye is fine."

"Can't pronounce a thing on the menu, but I can't wait to go back. We asked the server for suggestions and she was spot on. The bar seating area was a little loud for romance but very open and well lit. The dinning room and outdoor seating were more quiet. Try the flaming cheese dish. Great vegetarian dishes too"

"This past Saturday was my third visit. I made a reservation and got there a little early. the hostess said she would seat us at our reserved time. In the meantime we sat at the bar and had a cocktail. When the hostess was leading us to our table, she noticed that another customer had walked in and sat down. We said, that is ok, we will take another table, so she was escorting us to another table and noticed another customer walked in and took that one as well. We ended up waiting about 10 minutes for another table . We received a complimentary appetizer for having to wait. All the hostesses, server and manager were determined we had pleasant experience."

"Normally we are not big on a tapas style meal because it seems you pay a lot for small portions and don't truly get filled up unless you buy a lot of them. However we found the portions of this Meze to be quite nice. Expect to choose 3-4 dishes per person. Our waiter guided us well. My husband and I picked 7 - 1 dip, 1 pide (spinach, excellent), 3 veggie, 2 seafood + dessert, cookies, sorbet and 1 Turkish coffee. With 2 beers and all that food the bill came to $85 which we thought was quite reasonable and we were most definitely full! The details of each dish were complex with delicate sauces and great flavor. Definitely a place for foodies. The ambiance was lively, not quiet, but full of conversation. Tables were nicely appointed."

"We loved the relaxed feeling when you come into Ayse Meze. It is relaxed yet vibrant ... the food list was very extensive and authentic tastes. It covers a wide range variety of food and wine across the Med countries. The service was excellent well-timed and attentive, the water was topped off regularly. We enjoyed the meal starting with raki and with a variety of appetizers, hummus, pita, veggies, meats, salads and ended with homemade pistachio ice cream and baklava with Turkish coffee. We highly recommend this new found gem in Frederick, MD."

"Always Excellent!!! Never disappoints!!! The nightly specials are wonderful. Dishes you seldom find on other menus. Excellent servers and management who care about giving their dinners a great dining experience. I can't rave too much about the place. Having spent a lot of time in Greece and Turkey, I can say that Ayse rivals anyplace Ive dined there. Wife and I eat there almost weekly."

"2nd time back to Ayse Meza. There are over 80 dishes on the menu - so many things to try. We normally get items to share between the two of us. Got the huvuc koftesi (3 carrot fritters) again. Spanakotyropita (spinich/feta/phyllo pastry) was large, buttery, and delicious - definitely will get that again. Got the Kuzu (lamb/raisins/pinenut/garlic yogurt "cigar), it was a little spicy and I enjoyed it more than the Ordek backak (duck/fig puree cigar) from last time. The Biftek (beef/coffee crust/lots of roasted potato French Fries) was great! The l.f.c fried chicke was small, dry, and over fried. Service started well but never got a water refill after asking 2x."

"We were looking for a place where we could eat healthy as in lots of vegetables, etc., and we were not disappointed. Anyone can prepare vegetables, right? But this place makes them taste great with artful presentations as well. The wines seemed mostly from places like Greece, Israel, Turkey and other countries in the region so we had the waiter recommend one for us. It was simply wonderful. The staff was friendly and attentive. I also had a lamb souvlaki just to get a little meat and it was very good. We recommend their brussel sprouts dish - I never knew I could enjoy brussel sprouts!"

"This was our first experience at this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and the taste of the food. We shared among four people. We thoroughly enjoyed the Bronzino which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. we also shared the Brussels sprouts, the pedi (like pita pockets), the shish kebab and our dessert, baklava. We only had two complaints -the extra charge for any bread beyond the first basket, and the fact that they were out of a lot of the special wines (two out of five of the red wines anyone white wine). This was at 6pm so it was quite early to be out of so much. however , what we did have was quite good and we plan to return."

The only negative I can think is that their specialty, some kind of cheese they light on fire at the table, fills the dining room with a burnt oil smell. People seem to enjoy it, it's just not for me."

"Ayse Meze is amazing!!!! They serve meze which ranges from small to medium size tapa style dishes which cover every possible taste preference. We had vegetarians dining with us and they had absolutely no problem finding something yummy like...carrot fritters! Their claim to fame is the flaming cheese which is remarkable and brussel sprouts which are the best ever! They have a lounge, a lovely dining room and a large outside patio which gives the diner a wide selection. Try it! You will love it!"

"As we entered the restaurant it was apparent that it was to be a beautiful evening. The atmosphere was fabulous, the ambiance perfect. The menu was extensive and everything we ordered was superb. We would have appreciated the food coming out of the kitchen a bit slower, but it was probably something we could have avoided by ordering two items at a time and then placing the next order. Absolutely an excellent restaurant."

"Portions were expensive but small. Drinks were adequate. Octopus special was skimpy and not worth it. I would never order a special again. The duck breast was outstanding. The cured beef was good, but again the actual beef was skimpy. We definitely left feeling full given the amount of food that was served. With reservations, they tried to seat us near the bar and we refused the seating due to the extreme noise. We were then reseated in a quieter area, but it was still loud."

"I am not a fan of "tapas-style" restaurants. But, we tried the restaurant based on some reviews. The food was good but not outstanding. The hummus lacked flavor. The lentil and tomato soup were FANTASTIC. The lab skewer had no flavor. Their bread with cheese and meat was outstanding. The coffee custard was superb! The service was fantastic. The waitress are well trained and know their dishes. Overall a nice place to have a relax dinner. But, the flavor of some dishes were disappointing."

"We had an excellent experience and found the experience well worth a drive from Hanover, MD (about 49 minutes). Our daughter married into a family with roots in Cyprus, and so we have pretty high expectations for Turkish food; we were not disappointed. The many appetizers are worth eating as your main course, but the entres were very well turned out. The only downside was someone left a size 6 Halston coat and took the wife's size Small LL Bean coat. We're hoping they realize their mistake; the coat hooks are in a common area near reception."

"If you love tapas or small plates of food, this place has a huge selection, mostly in the $9 range. The "cigar" or phyllo dough in a cigar shape stuffed with duck came in a sweet fig sauce in a little jar. The carrot fritters (3) were my favorite. Who would have thought that carrots could be comfort food? Brussel sprouts came sliced in a sweet sauce and were good. The chicken on a pita pizza was very good with cheese and a good size for sharing The cheese and brandy that flamed ($10) was good, like a grilled cheese sandwich without the bread. Also, free olive oil w/ herbs and freshly made pita. Wine was very good, the $7 pear one. Service friendly but not attentive, had to ask for more water and never got my coffee for dessert."

"This restaurant is definitely something Frederick has been lacking for a while. The menu is varied so a foodie can have a field day but someone like myself, who prefers the more everyday fare is perfectly happy as well. The desserts are to die for, and the service is great! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit."

"Had a yummy meal with good friends during Restaurant Week. We'd go back just for the Brussel sprouts... and the shrimp, stuffed grape leaves, desserts, wines, etc. Our server was excellent. We were very near the bar so it was a bit noisy but we were still able to have a nice conversation during our superb meal. We'll definitely be going back."
