From the rustic stone exterior to the expansive and colorful interior, Little Italy’s hidden treasure, La Villa Restaurant & Bar, blends urban and rural life together seamlessly. Seated at wooden tables, reminiscent of the farmers’ tables in years past, diners enjoy fresh, sustainable Italian delights. La Villa’s seasonal menu emphasizes the “farm to table” concept by incorporating neighborhood farmers’ products and locally caught seafood in every dish. From the handmade mozzarella found on the Naples inspired pizzas, to the oysters, so fresh that the remnant flavors of the ocean are still present, La Villa pleases the palate time after time. Pasta lovers fawn over specialties like the Smoked Ricotta Pumpkin Ravioli, served with Toasted Oats, Parsnip Puree, Pomegranate, and Beech Mushrooms, and on warm San Diego days, guests can relax under the sun, surrounded by a brightly colored mural on the outside patio and bar.
"Kudos to La Villa. Ate Saturday night. Decided not to get Pizza - a staple for us and instead had the sali and cheese plate that was amazing because of some interesting homemade additions - jellied balsamic vinegar (yum) and pickled strawberries. Our waiter, Lucas, was fantastic. Their wine list has really improved - great Italian selection and a good assortment of other wines too!"

"I feel the restaurant has its own charm, the food is good but different, not the traditional presentation, it has its own personality, i felt welcomed and pleased with their service and ambiance."

"We enjoyed everything about our dinner that night. We had the lamb/pork meatballs, mint/pea ravioli, tomato soup, asparagus with egg, and tender Brussels sprouts cooked with pork belly and dates. We had a Pino noir that complimented it all perfectly, that was recommended by our waiter, who was very attentive throughout our dinner. The atmosphere was beautiful and we sat outside on the side patio next to the fountain. A wonderful night all around!"

"La Villa has become my favorite new dining spot in Little Italy. Farm to table fresh ingredigents are the star of the show. Clean and simple preparations let the flavors shine. Knowlegeble staff and seating options either inside the rustic charm main dining area or outside on their enclosed patio. The night we dined outside was a perfect San Diego Night under a bright full moon."

"Everything was perfect - but .... all doors were open, and your guests sat in the draft! Really, it was cold and a beautiful evening looks different. That was not funny. In the summer is this understandable.
And something else: my Parpadelle with chicken was overcooked. And the cream sauce was not special, unfortunately.
But the rest - good and your waitress was very polite and we thought, yes, she knows what she does.
But we don't have no reason, to coming back again. Maybe- if all doors are closed??? :-) no, seriously, we like your restaurant and we hope, you are there, when we come back to USA in the next year."

"Farm to table food - food was very good - I don't like huge portions but one of the salads was a bit small for the price but excellent - it had the homemade baratta which was killer. We sat out side but by the fountain - it was a little noisy and we got some occassionaly water drops but it was comfy. Excellent service - waitress was very knowledgable and just the right amount of attention - not rushed but prompt. This was recommended by two different people - both foodies and I would definitely go again."
