"Overall a really good restaurant with a wonderful American/seafood menu. Portions are generous and the pricing offers good value. On this visit we were not pleased with our server, but will return and ask for our favorite, Jimmy! Management should pay closer attention to service details. Didn't care to have my food served with a glib "here ya' go!" If I wanted Outback service, I'd go there. The hostess should dress more professionally as this adds to ambience and many guests were "dressed up" while she appeared as if she was going to a summer picnic. We will go back."

"This is a rustic, nicely restored inn with a menu offering lots of options including daily specials. Salad, potato, and vegetable are included with entrees. Portions are quite generous, especially for prices that are very reasonable. Service was good in spite of a very busy dining room. In summary, this a reliable, local place with traditional food that is nicely presented by a friendly staff."

"Table of 18 next to us was extremely loud to start. We couldn't hear ourselves! Fillets & scallops were very over cooked. Server forgot bread for our party. Server boxed leftover crab cake with his bare hand! Staff seemed to be overwhelmed with the crowds. Maybe a non-holiday experience would be better?"

"My family wanted to go to a local restaurant, so we headed to the Spring House Tavern. This was our first time there -- and last. We had apps and dinner. Every dish lacked flavor, including the apps. All the dinner entrees were overcooked. The home fries looked and tasted like they had been prepared days before. I had the crab cakes, which is supposed to be one of their premiere dishes. The crab cakes lacked freshness and flavor, and every bite was full of shells, a little too crunchy for me. The prices are much too high for what amounts to bad diner food."

"I loved this restaurant, as did my guest. She enjoys older Inns with a Colonial character. Spring House Tavern certainly fits that category. She ordered a baked brie in a pastry crust appetizer (outstanding)while I started with an excellent Snapper Soup served with the traditional Sherry. My guest ordered the Filet Mignon, perfectly cooked to order with potatoes and vegetable. I ordered a very tender, and tasty, Calves Liver with Bacon, perfectly prepared. Parfaits and coffee ended our meal, and my guest enjoyed a glass of Bolla Chianti, one of her favorite wines. It was a very pleasant, romantic, and quiet dinner together."

"Have been here twice and both times the food was very tasty. Seems like a hang-out for senior citizens who make up the majority of the diners. Service was average - nothing special but nothing to complain about. A bit pricey for a "regular" destination but nice for a special night out."

"A friend and I arrived and wanted to chat for a bit before dinner. Waitress brought our very generous drinks, then only stopped back once before we wanted to order just to be sure that we weren't neglected. She handled our timing needs just right.
We had the soup of the day - butternut and maple, which was unusual and delicious. They claim to be famous for their crab cakes and rightly so. Couldn't taste any filler and the crab was fresh and sweet. I wanted another vegetable instead of the potato and was easily accommodated with cole slaw.
For generous portions and good service would definitely recommend. Dessert sounded good, but I didn't have room left!"

"Food was okay at best, certainly not worth the price. Seemed like we were in a nursing home from the crowd, and we were there on Valentine's Day at 7:15. Tables are too close together. Overall, not what I was expecting, and I won't be back any time soon."

"I was disappointed in my dinner. It was the Tuesday night special beef and my portion was tough. I have taken it home & hope to cook it a bit more. My friends all had beef and their's were fine. I'm sure it was only my serving that was so tough. This is the first time at Spring House that I have had a disappointing entree. Everything else was very good and service was great."
