Mixto is a two-story natural wood and exposed brick building located on the east side of downtown Philadelphia on the historic Antique Row. We have been opened for ten consecutive years. Our vision has been to bring an array of flavors of the Cuban, Latin American and Caribbean cuisine to the Center City area.
We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with bar service and an extensive wine selection.
Mixto offers outdoor dining with a South Beach Miami ambiance during the spring, summer & fall when the weather permits.

"I was very surprised with this pleasant find! The service was good, the food was fantastic (very flavorful and decorative display), the margarita was pretty decent and the noise level wasn't out of control. The lighting was so dim I had a hard time reading the menu. Overall I highly recommend this place if you're looking for wonderful, flavorful food with a cool vibe and good service. It's a hidden gem."

"Mixto was recommended by a tour guide the last time we visited Philadelphia. We were celebrating Mother's Day and my brother's birthday and were excited about trying Mixto. Unfortunately, everyone disliked the food. It is definitely overpriced and NOT authentic Cuban food. If the food and service were good, then i wouldn't have a problem spending a little more money to ensure that i will have a goid time. The only aspects of Mixto that I enjoyed were the ambiance and the vibe were, but the food was definitely not good! I will not be going back to Mixto nor will I recommend his restaurant to anyone."

"The food was an excellent my wife and I enjoyed ourselves. Very creative dishes and the serice was outstanding. My wife had the French Toast Croissant with apple butter. I had plantains with Rice and Chicken. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and we will be back soon."

"I love the food at Mixto, but going there even with reservations on Cinco de Mayo was a poor choice as they were unprepared for the amount of people they had, or so they said. Tables were empty while groups (including my party of 2 with reservations) were waiting because the kitchen was backed up. Our appetizer of guac was brought promptly but then we waited a really long time for our food - the waiter and a manager even came over to apologize which was the right thing for them to do and they were kind and honest about their situation. Still it would have been nice if they could have sent over some complimentary chips or something, especially as most people were hungry runners after Broad St! I would go back just not when I'm in a rush."

"Great food. Love this place... been eating here for years. The last two times I've been a bit disappointed with their service because they kept hurrying us up and trying to get us out of there as fast as possible. Apparently, they were expecting a big group or something so they needed the table. We were informed of this multiple times through the course of our dinner. It was not like we were just sitting there and talking. The whole time we were there, we were ordering drinks and food. The moment we signed the check they very politely asked us to leave."

"I had heard great things about Mixto and decided to get dinner there with a few friends. I had made reservations fro 9:15 a few days in advance, I was happy to receive a call confirming them the morning of the reservation. We arrived 15 minutes early and ended up waiting another 35 minutes to be seated. The downstairs of the restaurant was freezing because the windows were open. Every one around us was obviously cold and when asked to close the windows they said they dont close them until 11pm. They didn't even take into account that the guests were cold and the food was getting cold quickly. It took a while for us to receive our food because they were overbooked and seated."

"Our table was ready immediately (a bonus!) however our entire party was not there yet so a few of us went to the upstairs bar for drinks. The bartender upstairs was horrible. He dropped drink menus in front of us without saying a word. It took 10 minutes for him to come back to us and take our drink order. We overhead he messed up a bunch of orders before us so I guess thats why. Consider hiring a new bartender.
But our actual dining experience was wonderful. We had a party of 10 and our waiter handled everything fabulously."

"Mixto is a great local gem! The menu has evolved over the years to perfection with a wide variety of choices; seafood, poultry and beef. Excellent Plato Mixto combo of delicious appetizers a great start. Nice intimate bar on first level great for an after work drink with a friend or lover. "Where do I begin... went to Mixto for Brunch this past Sunday, and even though we had a reservation, we were told that we wouldn't be seated until all members of the party arrived. OK, fine. 5 minutes later, the hostess is nowhere to be found, and one of the servers helped us get seated. Our server forgot our order...3 times. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer, and after reminding the server about the guac, it took over an hour to arrive. Coffee wasn't refilled until we asked, and to make matters worse, the hostess was standing right next to our table talking with guests our entire meal. I won't return to Mixto, and I think the manager has some work to do to fix all of the issues mentioned."

"Food, as always, was very delicious. The server, however, was very slow, forgetful, and inattentive to us and all of our surrounding tables. I haven't been there in a while, but the service before was a great deal better.

"We had a sampling of the starters and they were all excellent. We shared a paella which was outstanding. The caprahinas are to die for. The only negative was that our wine was served hot, not warm but literally hot. The wine is apparently stored above the kitchen which is way too hot. We had some confusion about our reservation, our fault, and the staff had been very accommodating, so we did not sendit back, but should have."

"This is my favorite restaurant in the area! The food is always fresh and flavorful. The mixed drinks are phenomenal. We have gone tons of times, but the Valentine's Day Pre fixe menu was our latest visit. The menu and selection was great for the price. It was nice to have it all laid out for us, and it was a lot of food! The dessert and champagne at the end just put us over the top (in a good way)."
