The Silver Grille is a small, family-owned, farm-to-table style restaurant that focuses on serving "Willamette Valley Cuisine", a dining experience focused on local products, an ever evolving menu, inspiration from the surrounding area and a classical cooking background since 2000. At the Silver Grille we work with local growers, farmers and foragers, as well as raising our own produce in our garden and family-greenhouses. We prepare fresh bread, pastas, desserts, charcuterie, salumi, and other items daily in our kitchen. The Silver Grille has recieved the Oregon Wine Press' Superior Cellars award for its dedication to Northwest produced wines. Thank you for supporting our local farms and small businesses.
"I had a lovely dinner including a salad, which I split with my friend. The lamb was tender and very flavorful as were the vegetables. For dessert we shared the rhubarb crisp with basil ice cream, which was the perfect conclusion to a delicious meal."

"Chef owned and operated by someone who obviously cares about the dining experience of his customers. He warmly greeted several customers whom he appeared to know, yet also was friendly and helpful to us, who were total strangers from out of town. Overall, our evening at Silver Grille was very enjoyable, and we are looking forward to finding more fun to drive roads heading to Silverton."

"It was our anniversary, and we wanted to spend the day browsing the shops of Silverton and having dinner there. I didn't know where to eat, so I Googled. There were so many great reviews for the Silver Grille that we booked a table there. The food was really amazing! The service was good, the atmosphere lovely - we will be back, and not just for a special occasion!"

"My wife and I do a fair bit of traveling and enjoy good food. We never expected to find a place like this anywhere but in a large city. The menu isn't large but it is inventive and the preparation and presentation here is top shelf. The service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We live in Montana and will come back to Silverton just to eat here, it's that good. It is definitely worth the drive from Portland."

"Silver Grill is a small, friendly restaurant on the "other (east)" side of the Willamette Valley, in a charming town called Silverton. While it has a white-tablecloth ambiance, there is no snootiness at all. Service was excellent and personalized. The chef/waiter/sommelier was happy to describe any dish that you found interesting, what wines would work with it, discuss your tastes and recommend a particular dish or meal, and then to serve it to you with obvious enjoyment. And, oh, yes, the food was great!
Don't get me started on the Creme Brulee. It's been well-documented by another reviewer. And it's all true. Best I've ever had.
A bit small for a large group. I'd go with four or less diners. Two's best of all.
Enjoy!"

"Unfortunately, right after we were seated, they seated a very large multi-table group right next to us. There was nowhere to move to and the noise was so loud that my party of 4 could not hear each other.
There is a very small menu (about 6 entrees), so not a lot of choices. Food was good, though the steak turned out to be about 1/3 fat.
It is an expensive place, so be prepared for that. We had 4 entrees, two non-alcoholic drinks and 3 desserts. About $125 before tip.
I'd only return for a special occasion and would check menu choices & how busy they were before I went again."

"Outstanding food, probably the best we had in greater Portland area. The filet minion was out of this world. The place is very small and cozy, the chef takes good care of the guests. Well worth the one hour drive to Silverton. We'll definitely go back."

"The lamb actually tasted like mutton. The steak had a burned, not grilled flavor and the halibut was mushy. The cured meat was delish and the applebutter tart was amazing. Very nice place, too spendy to eat there often."

"Pretty much as good as it gets for a fresh and unique dinning experience. It would be a challenge to find something critical to write about. A must on the Oregon dining bucket list."

"he food was good but service was average...never came back to fill water glasses until we were ready to leave...did not ask how our dinners were or if we needed anything after our food was brought...although restaurant is small with less than a dozen tables with only two servers on a Saturday night service was very average."
