"We placed reservations on 5/15/13 via open table, able to book 4:45pm for a party of 5, received confirmation and when we arrived a few minutes early we were told the restaurant does not start seating until 5:00pm. I showed the very helpful maitre d' my e-mail confirmation and we were seated at once.

We were provided the best seat with the best views of HHV Cove. We all ordered something different to eat and drink and not one plate have a crumb left when we were finished. The entire experience was more then one could ever expect after seeing some of the prior reviews.

This was our last night in Waikiki, wish we tried Fresco's first, we would have gone again to enjoy the entire menu!
Yes the food, service and experience was that good!"

"The highlight was the linguine vongole; the clams were succulent and the sauce tasty. The bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was also very good. The salad with a few strips of salmon was okay. However, the spaghetti carbonara sauce was too thick, and congealed quickly. Unfortunately our lunches each cost about $50 per person for a starter, entree and dessert. We would go again for the clams and shrimp, and to try a few other dishes."

"Great food but service was a disaster that night. Very surprising since we experienced twice a full great dining experience at that restaurant. We will go back because the food is amazing but we'll just avoid to be served by that guy."

"We had read previous reviews of this restaurant and turns out they were "spot on". Our overall impression was "uneven", the service was great however, the food left a lot to be desired. My wife's meal was under cooked and mine was ok. We are aware the establishment is fairly new and as with any new restaurant there are bumps to be expected. We will try on our next visit and see if the kinks have been worked out or they have closed."

"Fresco replaced an earlier Italian restaurant at the Hilton Marketplace. The restaurant is still in its break-in phase (Feb 2013). The service was prompt and attentive. The meals we had (pasta for my wife and veal for me) were well prepared and tasty. The wine list has sufficient variety and is the usual pricing in Hawaii. We would return."

"My overall experience at Fresco was good, but the restaurant still needs improvement. The menu was pleasantly revamped since my last visit, with numerous dish additions. Our food was tasty & well presented, but our entrees, especially the steaks, arrived warm instead of hot. The prime rib turned cold halfway through, which made the fat coagulate and the texture unpleasant. Our server was friendly - when she was there. We had requested a private table, & perhaps as a result, we were often forgotten. Our server did not check on us and took awhile to bring requested things, such as an extra knife. When I requested a takeout container for my meal, she brought a piece of aluminum foil to the table, & I wrapped up the steak myself by hand."

"We read the reviews before dining. Putting the skepticism aside we ventured there. It s definitely is not fine dining nor is it your average Italian franchise restaurant. Something between. Not much of a kids menu either. Outdoor dining was nice, our waiter was good. The bartender will give you more in a mixed drink than you can handle. The chef need to go back to school and learn how to prepare a filet. Just my opinion but this place is about 30% overpriced."

"We come to Honolulu every year on vacation and lie to try new restaurants each visit. We tried Fresco's with some apprehension because the reviews on Yelp were very mixed.......most said the food was good but the service was poor. Well, the reviews were wrong.....both the service AND the food were hopelessly bad."
