22 Square offers the best of fresh produce, meat and seafood from local farms and producers. Our cuisine is elegant yet down to earth food, with a hint of modern sophistication. We work with neighborhood food artisans that provide us with our cheeses, chocolates, and even coffee roasted down the street. Our hand crafted cocktails are the perfect accompaniment to any meal and our bar and lounge area offers a wonderful place to start or finish your dining experience.
"We loved 22 Square. Food was outstanding using all fresh, local/regional meats, vegetables, and cheeses. Our server McKenzie was very knowledgeable and provided outstanding service. The menu is limited but in a good way in that it allows Chef Lauren Teague to focus on preparing an outstanding dinner experience -- which she certainly did. In reading some earlier reviews the wine selection was not rated highly, but we did not have that experience with a number of excellent wine offerings including a wonderful Zinfandel which went well with the suburb tenderloin. Altogether a great dinning experience. We will be back for sure.

"The pork belly with greens and corn pancake was super yummy. The oysters on the half shell were also fabulous. The cut of steak we got wasn't so good, way too much visible fat. Overall we had a nice dining experience."

"The cocktails were very well made, especially the bourbon specialty drink with the smoked cherry. The food was very good and the only drawback was the wine selections. This is the weakest part of an otherwise very good program. We ordered a bottle of pinot that was simply undrinkable. Literally! We basically had a few sips then left the whole bottle on the table. We never leave wine on the table! I understand that carrying a large inventory is prohibitive and affordable wines keep cost low, but there are good less expensive wines that actually taste good. I drink inexpensive wines all the time at home, so I know it's possible. An alternative pinot I'd suggest is smoking loon which where I live cost about $8 a bottle. Try it."

"A wonderful surprise. Tastefully modern decor, but warm not sterile. Attentive and prompt service. The menu, though limited at this point ( they are expanding their offerings as they go) was delicious. Really, really good. Proportions were good, not skimpy or bulbous. This is a refreshing change from most Savannah area restaurants - locally sourced, grass fed beef for example. I look forward to returning... and returning."

"22 Square impressed me to no end on my first trip. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the food and service. Housed in the new Andaz Hotel off of Ellis Square we had popped in to have a drink at the bar and were so impressed with the quality of the cocktails and the atmosphere of the space we decided to make a reservation for dinner the next night. Best dining decision we made on this trip. The menu features six ingredients each prepared three different ways. The oyster etouffee was fantastic but the ghost chili hot sauce my server offered me not on the menu made by the sous chef was the perfect touch. Our server, Matt was spot on. Great food, modestly priced, definitely check it out!"

"If you are an individual who branches beyond the chain and is in afraid of taking a chance where your palate is concerned; this is where you will be found. If you are reading this review you should be willing to take that chance. The food is locally sourced and seasonal, you don't have to be a foodie to appreciate that because you can taste it. If you appreciate a well crafted plate and a team of cooks who have a passion for presentation then you should experience their art form. If you have been on a journey around town looking for popular places...you'll find it, and that will be the end of the journey, when you find 22 Square your journey is just beginning"

"The concept here really needs to be rethought. The place is set in a lovely casual lobby setting with an open kitchen concept. The menu is based on local ingredients but is confusing, not well thought out and worst of all, not tasteful. You do not have to sacrifice taste for the environment. The charcuterie appetizer was a tough, an almost cardboard ham and a uninteresting sausage with some pickled vegetable, no condiments. The entree of flounder had some nice grilled vegetables but overcooked, very salty fish. My wife had the pulled pork, wasn't like any pulled pork we have ever seen on corn cakes made soggy by the vegetables on top. Dessert was good ice cream incased in uninteresting dry cookies."

"The food is local (100 mile radius) and the chef visits the pigs and chickens! The bread is baked on site and is out of this world! Don't let the menu confuse you, due to the freshness of the ingredients, it's just the basis of what is offered. Your terrific server will explain a plethora of daily specials. If you want foodie, local, fresh this is the place for you!"

"Very new restaurant we just had to try due to all the great reviews. Part of our experience is the vibe of the space and I have to say that this was an entirely brick space with a hard ceiling and floor partially covered with an area rug. Very little decoration, nothing on the table but a very small candle and no table cloths. . It felt cold and not cuddly like most spaces in Savannah. The server was very nice and quite knowledgable. Knew her bar drinks well but when my husband ordered wine, it took three times to have a wine by the glass in stock on the Saturday night of Easter weekend. The bar did not the server or offer a substitute. The apps were great. The chef was very nice and came out and talked to us about our meals."

"First time and it was a gem. Delicious food and terrific bespoke cocktails. Don't let the fact that it is in a hotel deter you from going. Prices are right and service strong without being over the top fussy. We were there on St Patrick's Day so there was a special menu. Looking forward to going back on normal menu evening."

"Overall, we had a great experience at 22 Square, which is on the first floor of the recently-opened Andaz Hotel. The cocktail menu was diverse and each one was outstanding, particularly the Manhattan that won "Best in Savannah." The food was outstanding, with locally sourced ingredients dominating the direction of the menu. Taking the advice of our server, we tried several items from different sections of the menu, and we were glad we did. The crispy pork belly over the pumpkin ravioli was the table favorite. With no room for dessert, we opted for more cocktails, and two of us had absinthe that was prepared right at our table from their absinthe fountain! Service was great, and we intend to return!"

"This was one of the best meals I have ever eaten in a restaurant attached to a hotel. The menu was very interesting, small but encompassing of all tastes and the candied bacon amuse was fantastic. If I stay in the area again i would return to eat there. Our server Janelle, was adorable and so polite. We ate very late on a monday so it was basically just us. I can not speak to the noise level of a full dining room but its a moderately sized place and probably isn't bad at all. The tables were nicely spread out which is hard to find up in NYC. Well done by Andaz!"

"The service was excellent. The ambiance is rather stark and bare...a very modern decor. We tried this restaurant based on other reviewers who said it was moderately priced and the food was superb. Cocktails (2) were much too expensive ($22). The piece of fish I ordered could not have been more than 4-5 oz. and the meat my wife selected was tough. Total cost for the evening, for two, with tip was close to $150."

"So many tempting choices on the menu, but only so much room in my stomach! Bummer. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is that (a) the timing of the service was a little slow between my appetizer and main course and (b) the seasoning was a little off. My salad was in desperate need of both a little salt and some fresh ground black pepper (none was offered, so I had to resort to the pepper shaker on the table), and my entree (the night's special) was just a tad too salty. I would definitely go back again, though. Yum!"

"I have stayed at the Andaz several times, but never got around to trying 22 Square. We ended up popping in last weekend because our party was able to get a last minute reservation when everything else in town was booked. I was so glad we ended up here! The menu is all local, including the coffee and ice cream! The ingredients are fresh and high quality. Bradley, our server, was super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. My party ordered no alcohol. Many times servers in nicer restaurants "write you off" when you don't buy drinks as cheap or bad tippers, but Bradley treated us like VIPs the entire time. The atmosphere is modern and quiet and the prices are incredibly reasonable for such high quality food."
