"The waiter was scattered, he said he normally worked nights & we were there for brunch., kept forgetting things. My husband & I got the spinach omelet.The omelet was good not large, but only came with 1 slice of toast. Had to ask for more toast which took another 10-15 minutes. My daughter had eggs, potatoes and bacon, she got more food with her breakfast. We are not large people but we do like to eat & thought the portions were small. The burgers looked like best bet, as we saw them go by us. Will maybe try them 1 more time since it was a busy holiday."

"Great service and quality food. I never order chicken and the chicken here was simply amazing. Salads very fresh and dessert (most important part of the meal) was fabulous. The Meyer lemon cheesecake and the chocolate salted caramel tarte to name two! I highly suggest buying the kitchen a round of beers... It's an option on the dessert menu and we thought it was so clever!"

"Restaurant is very casual and it's great that you can walk to the beach for a stroll after your meal! Our family has been 4 times in a month and highly recommended the place. The brussel spouts were much better than other places. The chicken wings were salty, but not on previous visits. Chicken entree remains consistently good. Both bean salad and beet salads are outstanding. Disappointed they only had scallops as their special - so limited in choice of non-shelled seafood that night. Service was outstanding and if you arrive early, parking isn't a problem."

"PrepKitchen Del Mar was the perfect spot for 3 friends to have a good dinner w/ good wine and to talk. The service was really outstanding. attentive but not intrusive. we had a relatively quiet table inside in the corner which was great for conversation. in the past we have sat outside on the patio but inside is cozier and quieter. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"The appetizers were for the most part good. The fried artichokes were tasty, but a bit greasy. Three of us had the halibut entree and all agreed it was slightly overcooked and overly salty.

The service is very casual, but our server (forgot her name)was great. We sat outside which was nice, however there are no shades on the glass partition windows and 2 people in our party were facing right into the sun, so for a half hour, they were pretty miserable. I finally hung my napkin over the glass partition wall and used the clip of a ink pen to secure it to the glass. They really need to invest in some outdoor shading so people aren't blinded by the sun."

"It's all about the quality ingredients with delicious product here. We enjoyed the casual outdoor dining area where a family came in for dinner with beach slippers and their two dogs. The mussels and pork belly appetizers were phenomenal, as was the braised beef entree. We rehydrated ourselves with their refreshing fruit-infused water in between sangria, wine and beer rounds. Highly recommend this place for a delicious foodie dinner in a casual atmosphere."

"I have eaten at Predpkitchen Del Mar twice in recent weeks. Both times the food was very good...and I'm not easily satified. Despite the fact that most of the tables are outside, the heaters keep you comfortable and the noise level is not at all overwhelming. The wine list is not extensive but the wines I've had by the glass have been excellent."

"Fantastic experience at Prepkitchen Del Mar. We were greeted by the staff, including the GM with a warm smile. Our server was friendly, made us feel right at home and was very knowledgable of their menu. The chef, Mark, came out of the kitchen to answer all of our questions and recommended dishes we all loved (their ravioli, beet salad and chocolate caramel salt tart were AMAZING). HIghly recommend the place for foodies, can't wait to go back. Thank you for a great night guys."

"My husband & I went to Prepkitchen for our 41st wedding anniversary, as it was recommended by 2 friends. It was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I have ever had. When the server found out it was our anniversary she gave us each a complimentary glass of port to go with our delicious chocolate salted caramel dessert tart. All the food was delicious. I had the pumpkin & kale salad it was so good that it's only been 2 days & I am already craving more. The only complaint I can think of is that the heater was more than adequate & in order to have a cup of coffee with my desert I had to ask them to turn it off which they did promptly. We also had one of the few tables that had an ocean view thanks to a reservation."

"I have never been disappointed here, truly a gem. I have a lot of food allergies and I can always find several menu items to choose from, plus they are super helpful in working with me. It is cosy, and, small though it is, has a lot of different options for seating. Also comfortable to eat here when dining alone."

"Great restaurant located in the heart of Del Mar. I had their Mahi Mahi dinner special and it was cooked perfectly - moist and flavorful. I was never a big fan of Kale but I ordered their pumpkin and kale salad and it tasted delicious! Definitely would go back to dine here again but maybe try sitting outside since we were seated inside. They have a very small inside dining area and it had a tendency to get loud just from the conversations around us. Too bad they didn't have an actual bar with bartender which is always a favorite of mine wherever I go."

"Our experience at PrepKitchen was excellent. The food tasted good and was well presented. In addition, food and wine were reasonably priced. We had a reservation but our table wasn't ready until 20 minutes after the reservation time. we made no complaint but were still given a drink each on the house while we waited and then when our food arrived an additional appetiser appeared - also on the house with apologies for the delay. Simply excellent service. They treat their customers very well here."

"We couldn't understand the good rating. Rarely have I dished a restaurant but we were promised a kale salad with crispy pumpkin and the pumpkin was mushy. The ravioli was extremely undercooked. Their special cucumber mimosa was warm and we did return that. The other wine was uninspired. The mushroom soup was good."

"We have been to PrepKitchen Del Mar twice now and it was mediocare and had hoped the menu had more variety. We ordered mussels and a burger. The mussels were not the best but the broth and the fries were good. The burger was greasy and felt heavy.

Overall my experience was good nothing spectacular."

"We sat inside where the tables are small and closely spaced. Despite the closeness of our neighbors, it still felt intimate. The food was delectable. We both started with the white bean soup. Next, I have the ravioli stuffed with butternut squash and my partner had the catch of the day. Both were well seasoned, the presentation was inviting. Overall a very pleasant evening and I will go back and dine on their deck just for the experience."

"I went for lunch and had the arugula salad with white beans. It was different and perfect for a cool day as it was served warm. They are great at accommodation gluten allergies which my husband has. "Went to PK a couple of nights ago and had a great meal in a good environment. Took the outdoor seating with heaters and we were perfectly comfortable. Service was really outstanding, casual, not rushed at all, but not overly attentive either. Wife had the mussels and raved about them, I had the taglietelle and thought it was just about the best thing I've ever eaten. Good, reasonable wine selection, no mixed drinks, and delicious desserts. Give this place a try. You'll be back."

"Had the scallops which was the catch of the day - excellent and extremely tender. We had out of town guests from the NW who very much enjoyed the outdoor seating with heaters. Our server was knowledgeable regarding the wine list which was helpful and got us a great bottle."

"We were a group of 7 celebrating my adult son's b-day. Everything was delight-full.
The cook came out to greet us and ask about our food. We discovered that her upcoming birthday was the exact same day as my son's. It was a nice personal touch to meet her."

"The food was good - solid, decent food, nothing wrong with it. But for the price (~$20 for about 4 oz. of cod and 3 cauliflower florets), it should have been fantastic, so I was a bit let down. Service was great."
