"A warm spring morning offered the perfect frame for a patio table to enjoy Rapscallion's always reliable brunch. Service is friendly without being pushy, menu items arrive as described, even when they're obviously very busy. Yummy food, and outstanding muffins!"

"We have not been there in about a year, although in the past went for Sunday brunch pretty regularly. I was disappointed to find the same fruit in yogurt and same muffins. The yogurt was runny and the fruit was not all that fresh (especially the grapes which were were tired looking). The breakfast was okay, although not really for the money. The best was the seafood omelet, which had large pieces of lobster. The service was adequate but when I made the resevations, it was for a handicapped guest. That said, we were walked around and through a narrow hall to the table (which was ultimately near the front door). There was no assistance with the chairs or walker, so we were left to figure out how to fit everything into the small space."

"Our group of 8-10 often go to Rapscallions for Sunday brunch and we always have a great experience. The food is consistently very good, the service is excellent and the staff is very accommodating. We will be back again!"

"A Reno tradition for years, I'm told, the restaurant is a classic wood-lined spot. My waiter, Tui, was clearly a veteran server. In a way he--and the restaurant--reminded me of Musso & Frank's in Los Angeles. Just like Musso's, the martinis come with a second helping. The food (I had a steak) was top-flight. The wine list is a bit pricey. As the restaurant began to fill, the service got quite slow--it appeared that Tui was serving the entire place. Two hours for dinner is too much."

"Wonderful food and wine list. Service was great, not rushed, and was very knowledgable about the fish and the different preparation available for each. Save room for dessert, we had the mud pie, the Espresso ice cream was perfect."

"Rapscallion Seafood House & Bar has been a favorite place in Reno for over twenty-five years. It has great ambience, cuisine and service. It is difficult to get really fresh seafood in Northern Nevada accept for Rapscallion where the freshness and quality is outstanding. Just a few years ago, they introduced meat in addition to seafood. Their obsession for quality has carried over to all their meat and chicken entrees. The superior food items combined with a very romantic atmosphere is an excellent place to take to take that special person."

"The Rap is always a great place to celebrate a special occasion, dine with friends and family or just have a great meal. There are a few "cabins" that allow for private dining (we had one this night), as well as booths and tables. Have never had anything on the menu that wasn't excellent and we had a great Chardonnay with this meal that was served at the perfect temperature, not too cold as is often the case. For predictably great food and service you can't go wrong with the Rap."

"We hadn't been to Rapscallion for dinner in over a year. We came for the corn beef & cabbage for St Patrick's day, as one of our party does not like that dish, he had the scaloni, which he enjoyed very much. The noise from the bar was higher than normal but fine and understandable. We enjoy the private booth setting very much. Our waiter was new but polite and checked on us periodically, the booths make this necessary . We generally go there for brunch and lunch."

"We were there with a party of 5 on Tuesday night, super service and timing on the staff's part. A couple of dishes were terrific, petite filets and seasfood medley were winners, the sprimp stuffed with crab tasted like it was either bought preprocessed or had been frozen for several weeks, very dissappointing for a seafood speciatly house. The prime rib was ok ( seafood specialty house) but the scalopped potato's were horrific, same preprocessed taste, a kitchen with this talent and reputation should had made that item fresh that day. Over all a disappointing meal, but we have dined there many time and this was the first disappointing meal, we will return and try again."

"This was our third annual visit for our anniversary since Chef Ming invited me to come up and see his fine seafood house after I ran into him at a round of golf. It is not a particular easy trip from the Bay Area but the dining experience makes it worth every hour. I had the Alaskan Halibut stuffed with Blue Crab over mushrooms and it was cooked to perfection. My wife decided on the Prime Rib and found that her end cut was actually well done as she likes it. The desserts (chef has been there 27 years, I believe) were exquisite and cocktails were served promptly and as ordered. Service was excellent and visible but not intrusive, as usual."

"We were seated in porch area. Colder than the main Dining room. We went there to celebrate my wife's birthday. I let hostess know and put it in the open table notes. Waiter forgot. Booooo"

"Went for brunch. We both had the filet mignon benedict, and shared the crab cakes appetizer. Crab cakes: very flavorful, but could have used a little more binder [very loose texture]. Filet benedict: excellent steak, both it and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Hollandaise sauce was supposed to be "peppery" - I thought it was really bland. Hubby thought it was great. Not too lemony, etc.
Attentive servers and staff."

"We enjoyed our dinner at Rapscallion's very much. Food and service were both excellent. Classic menu options from 5:00 to 6:30 were an outstanding bargain with glass of wine, soup or salad, entrée and dessert all for $29-$35 depending on entrée. It is a great spot for seafood and steaks in downtown Reno."

"Impressed on our first visit... please with nearly everything. The escargot were initially delightful, however the strong flavor became somewaht overwhelming. Scallops were a bit salty, however the stuffed monkfish were received with great pleasure. Thanks."

"Extremely noisy including crying children in the next booth. The waitress gave good service but the cosmos drinks were delivered to the table without cranberry juice in them, we had to mix them ourselves (very poor!) The entrees were mediocre, beef filet was presliced, scalloped potatoes were underdone, bison stew-meat was tough and vegetables under cooked, duck breast was over cooked and poor presentation. We've gone to rapscallion for over ten years--this was the last trip. We won't be back the dinner cost as much as a dinner in Las Vegas and we received poor quality food. The calamari was cold and soggy because it was placed on top of the sauce. The only good thing was the crab cake appetizer."
