"This was our first time for the Capital Grille in Garden City. We visited the ones in NYC several times.
Food was very good. The filet and sirloin were cooked exactly as ordered and the sides of mash potatoes and asparagus was delicious. We ordered an appetizer of crab meat and a wedge salad. Both were good. We were celebrating our anniversary and when our waitress found out she surprised us with a glass of champagne and made the evening special.
The service was excellent. The only thing I would mention was that we were seated in a booth right next to the "kitchen" and it was a bit noisy. Next time I would request another seat away from kitchen. We would definitely recommend this restaurant."

"Our first visit to Capital Grille in Garden City was for Mother's Day. Normally, restaurants are crowded, noisy, with terrible service and poorly cooked for on a day like this. Not so at Capital Grille. Except for the oysters on the seafood platter that were bad, everything was wonderful. Service was excellent for the most part, our server Natasha was still in a great mood after hours there and numerous diners that day. This will now replace our previously favorite local steakhouse that was bought last year by another company."

"From the minute you pull up to the front door, you are treated first class by the valet. We were taken on time for our reservations. The wine list was over the top. Food was superb. Our waitress, Melissa, was phenomenal. We will definitely be back. Five star experience."

"Among the many steak places out there today in the NY Metro area, there are the traditional stand-bys that will always be great. Among the newer entries there are many that try to get it right, but few achieve. Capital Grille gets it right. It was a Saturday night so it was busy; nevertheless, I kept having to request water glass refills. The servers brought out one dish late so the rest at the table had to wait in order to begin eating- despite pleas to begin."

"Went to Capital Grille for a Birthday dinner and couldn't be happier with the experience. We were given a table in a great location, nicely decorated and service that was impeccable. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked and very tender and flavorful. Although the entrees were pricey, they are still much better than many of Long Islands "noted" steakhouses. We will be back to Capital Grille to try the seafood and more!"

"I reserved a table at Capital Grille for my husband's birthday via Open Table. On the comments section, I added that it was his birthday. We arrived at the restaurant an hour early and asked if we could be seated then instead of at the reserved time. Not only did they allow this, but when we got to our table, it was decorated for a birthday including a personalized card for him. This was punctuated with a complimentary glass of champagne for each of us. The wine list was exceptional and the food was unbelievable. We began with shrimp cocktail--perfectly prepared and served--and followed with amazing steaks and sides. When it was time for dessert and coffee, my husband was presented with a complimentary top-shelf dessert. Amazing!"

"There's a new steakhouse on the Island and I was thrilled to discover that The Capital Grille rivals the greatest steakhouses on LI & NYC. This was one of the most pleasant dining experiences we've had in ages. The staff is top notch. The manager Sara & our fabulous waitress Rachael outdid themselves. This traditionally decorated steakhouse is updated w/ elegance. The Delmonico dry aged steak was seasoned & grilled perfectly. I tasted it and agreed with my husband that it was one of the best steaks he's had, ever. Better than the infamous...oh, I shouldn’t say! The Wagyu Beef Carpaccio w/ Wasabi Arugula was light & delicate, with incredible flavor. The Pan Fried Calamari defies description. GO, and don't skip the Lobster Mac & Cheese!"

"I had asked for a table off to the side as it was my husbands birthday and my mother is hard of hearing. They said they would 'try'. We arrived, and they walked us to a lovely private room ! When the doors were closed - you couldn't hear the rest of the restaurant noise. It was perfect and the service was fantastic."

"This was among the best meals of my life. Everything about this restaurant was excellent. The service was attentive but unobtrusive. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. My wife and I both had steaks and both were flavorful and tender. This is on par with the best steak restaurants I have ever been to. Highly recommended."

"I was pleasantly surprised at my first visit to this restaurant. I went to the restaurant with a group of 11, and we were placed in a private room. The atmosphere in the restaurant was busy but quiet. We were greeted amiably by Jesse Miranda, our host for the evening. His service made us feel that we were being catered to as special guests! I ordered the chopped salad and the Delmonico steak with reduced balsamic vinegar. The salad was delicious and the steak was sublime, cooked exactly as I had ordered. Everyone in the group loved their choices. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants fine service, delicious food, and good wine served in a pleasant atmosphere."

"As always, the food was delicious. Terrell was a phenomenal waiter and David, the restaurant manager, was extremely attentive. It is wonderful to have the manager come over and check on your meal and your experience even if you have no complaints!

"Capitol Grill dinner this week was good BUT- very expensive. Service was good. The salad was mediocre. The salmon was excellent and the baked potato was well cooked and HUGE!! My husband had steak that he said was cooked perfectly . Our kids had shrimp and steak and said it was great. The biggest problem I have with this restaurant is the cost of the drinks. 18 for a glass of pinot noir is outrageous . I would like to see a good quality glass of wine at a lower price point. I have been to other excellent restaurants with great wine for much less money. THis restaurant is a chain charging NY City prices in Garden City NY in a mall !! We had dinner in the city on Sunday for much less and just as good. Bring money3"

"When we did not care for the placement of the first table we were shown, the staff was very gracious in accommodating us to the "private dining room". The service was great and the food was delicious. Steaks are fabulous. I'd also recommend the grilled asparagus and of course the lobster Mac & cheese. Price was reasonable for a steakhouse."

"By far the best restaurant on Long Island and as good as anything in Manhattan. It has become our favorite and it is getting better.
We had the best server anywhere, Samantha Shapiro. She is super efficient, never gets rattled no matter how busy she is, and has the best personality. She makes every every customer feel special by remembering what you like and how you like it. She is a joy."
