We are an Italian Restaurant that serves only fresh pastas and prize-winning pizzas. We run daily specials that are inspired by both the chefs and I , driven by an unquenchable search for novelty rooted in a classic bias. Our menu changes modestly through-out the year with careful consideration to the seasons and the patrons palates tempered by my tenacious personality. Our wine menu and wines available by the glass ( via an enomatic machine) have delicately selected from a old world prejudice and new world excellence, with an uncompromising standard for value. We are a small "New-York" bistro in decor (so they say), with a European commitment to service. I hope to share bar Mercurio with you soon. Yours Truly, Giuseppe Mercurio, Proprietor
"I read some of the reviews and they were generally favourable but I usually don't go to the restaurant that someone I know didn't recommend. I took a chance and it worked out wonderfully. My date enjoyed it too so I couldn't ask for anything more."

"Simply love this restaurant, they do a great job. Food is tasty and done well, servers are very friendly but down to earth, it is the perfect combination of upscale and comforatable"

"Over-priced food and outrageously marked-up wines.
We had two individual pizzas, one for $20 and the other for $18. While both had finely-done thin crusts, one of them ($18) had five olives for four slices and uneven distributions of other ingredients, not ideal for sharing. The one for $20 was the house special and was done well, but its equal could have been obtained in many other places for $14 or $15.
As for the wines, the cheapest red was $49 per bottle for a wine we had bought at LCBO for around $12. We ordered a bottle anyway because that was our plan for the night out. Nevertheless, we felt cheated. A young couple sitting near us looked at the wine list, laughed and then ordered mineral water. We should have done the same."

"My first time at this Italian restaurant in Bloor and Avenue. Was really impressed with the food and service. The salads were so fresh and the pasta and pizza we had were to die for. Really recommend this very "NY bistro like" . I will definitely go back!"
