"My husband and l have been frequenting this restaurant for a couple years now and have NEVER been disappointed! We love it so much my husband through me a birthday party there. The food is always exceptional and unique. The servers are knowledgeable and very courteous. You can tell that everyone who works there truly cares about the food they are preparing. They use local, fresh ingredients and the menu is always changing. The duck fries are INSANELY good as is their house cured meats. Trust me, you will not be disappointed! Keep in mind, though, it is a byob."

"Had dinner at Coltello's on Sat. night, mid-May. Booked an early table owing to other things going on so we were alone in the restaurant for the first 30 min. or so - but the restaurant was fully booked for the night. We were graciously greeted and seated. The menu was thoroughly explained to us so that we could order appropriately. There were 7 sections: small plates, salumi, cheese, flat breads, antipastos, pastas, and entrees. The first four sections are meant to be shared around the table. We had arrancini and a selection of 3 salumi - all really nicely presented and extremely tasty. (Whoops, way over my character limit, check out review on Trip Advisor, note spelled with one 'l" there, search for Crosswicks, NJ)."

"The appetizers, pork belly that was so unbelievably decadent, the fig salad and the tuna tar tar all made to order, were outstanding. What ever they do the pork chop, keep doing it! The veal tenderloin, the marinated strip both equally tasty and satisfying. Nanas meatballs are like a hug from your Nana. . Desserts were also yummy, the highlight was the Fried dough with rosemary caramel sauce. OMG you need your own cup of that to dip just about anything, extraordinary. It was a pleasure to be taken care of by Mike. Greeted us as old friends, so warm and welcoming. He was very informed on the menu and the preparations of everything we asked for. A wonderful dining experience with a flavor bursting meal. Anthony, thank you. Bravo Coltello!"

"Absolutely phenomenal meal! The staff was attentive and courteous, and the owner was vibrant and engaging. It was our first time there and without a doubt it will become a staple for us. We loved that it was BYOB. We tried a number of items on the menu including the prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella, the pork belly which was maybe the best thing I ever ate, the fig and gorgonzola salad, the muscles with a sauce that was so amazing I took it home to freeze and cook with later, the gnocchi with cauliflower, and the scallops which were cooked to perfection. I hate to write such a fantastic review because I want to be able to get a table in this quaint restaurant but it is well deserved."

"This was our fourth time at Coltello's and we will keep returning. In a couple of months they are moving to a new location. We are excited for this as it means it will have a cafe and be open for lunch as well. We can't wait! This is our favorite local restaurant and we will return again and again. I highly recommend brunch here as well. You can try a lot of the dinner items at a very reasonable price. The food and service here ae amazing. You will not be disappointed."

"Did you ever find a great place to dine and you were not sure if you really wanted to tell every body about it? Well here's mine. Excellent food, delivered by a staff who are genuinely interested in your enjoyment (and feedback as well). The charcuterie selections we had were delicious: Duck Pastrami, Wild Boar sausage, and Tartufo Salami each did their magic across the palate. That was followed up by the Tonno which was equally delicious. The place is a little small, and it's B.Y.O.B. but while your dining, you feel the energy of the staff who are genuinely interested in your enjoyment of their fine cuisine. The place was incredible and I will definitely be back."

"When we arrived at Coltello the small parking lot was full and they had valet parking which I thought unusual for a BYOB. I hate valet parking! Upon entering the restaurant the noise level, which we later learned from the owner was "energetic", was deafening as there were two tables of twelve on either dside of the dining room. One table was rather "lubricated" while the other was just revving up. Needless to say, my wife and I could barely hear each other speak with raised voices. The restaurant was also a little on the cool side. Putting all of that aside, the food here is wonderful! From the unusual take on garlic bread to the mussel appetizer to our main courses this food is noteworthy!! We will undoubtedly be returning!"

"Clearly run by people who care about the quality of their food and want to make the dining experience a bit more adventuresome by offering some of their own Charcuterie creations which we found to be very good indeed. The staff was very attentive and formally informal which made the experience a pleasant one."

"It's a shame because this could have been 4 stars all the way around if it weren't for service. Changed servers mid way through meal, kept having to ask for silverware, food took a while to come out, and wasn't attentive enough for small items (water, lime wedges, bread, etc), staff was friendly but needs more training."

"We were told about this place from friends of ours and had to check it out. Amazing food! Not your run of the mill Italian restaurant. High quality food at a decent price. I had the Sea Bass and it was absolutely delicious. My husband had the Diver Scallops that were superb! The owner, Tony, came over to our table and talked to us in great length. He made us feel very welcomed. We will be coming back in a few weeks to bring some friends of ours from out of town. I am sure they will be just as impressed as we were."

"This was our second time dining at Coltello's. We enjoyed it almost as much as the first time. We were looking forward to the beet salad we had on our first visit, but alas, it was not to be. The beet salad we had the second time was merely mixed greens with a couple of pieces of beets added. We were very disappointed but the rest of the meal was outstanding!"

"What an amazing night! Everything was top notch. We were seated promptly and loved that the owner came to go over the menu with us. His recommendations were pitch perfect and his personality really set the tone for the night! The crispy pork belly appetizer was so amazing we almost ordered it again for dessert. Nonna's meatballs reminded me of my own grandmother's "secret" recipe. The salads were so fresh and delicious. I had the pork chop and my wife and friend had the steak entree -- both were perfectly seasoned and cooked. We loved that you could really taste the flavor of the meat as opposed to just seasoning. Ricotta cheesecake and canolis for dessert topped off a perfect night. Well done! We'll definitely be back."

"If you love great food, Coltello is the place to go. Coltello offers many familiar Italian dishes, but what I like most, is they offer some unusual fair as well. On the menu there is something for everyone. On our recent visit, we ordered the pork belly. It was out of this world. My husband said he hasn't had anything that good tasting in a very long time. Once again we were extremely satisfied with our meal."

"What a perfect brunch! We began with the lonza, house-made cured pork loin, and buffalo mozzarella served with good bread, roasted garlic, excellent mustard and caramelized onions. The potato-leek soup was quite good. Probably the best dish of the day was polenta - both creamy and crisp - with an oustanding mushroom ragout. Nana's meatballs were delicious -- perfect sauce and a very creamy ricotta. The omelet of the day, spinach, bacon and mushroom was perfectly cooked. The Coltello salad, with pears, hazelnuts and pine nuts and manchego in a very good apple vinaigrette. Lastly, the flat bread with mushrooms was very well done. Service was excellent, and the owner, Tony, could not have been more welcoming."

"Owner stopped by several times to ensure all was well. Staff was prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. Food was excellent! If I could make one suggestion, for a party of 6-8 like mine a round table would be much more conducive to conversation given the other larger parties and noise level."

"We had Sunday brunch here. The food was outstanding, as was the service. They were very accommodating for the three children in our party. We dined towards the end of the brunch time, and it was quiet. The owner, Tony, explains the entire menu, which is fantastic. We had a ton of food and everything was delicious. We will be back."
