"We did an early Mothers Day Dinner a week before. We all had great food as always. We all love the preperations. The fish, meats etc. The salmon with blueberries is a winner, I always do the fish special. We will be back."

"Was a wonderful breakfast. Only noted item was a bit skimpy food-wise for the price that was paid. Waffles and strawberries were the best ever had - so light. Wonderful little place."

"Our waiter, Travis, was excellent, the food was very good. But my wine needed another few years in the bottle before it should have been served - they should know their wine better. And in spite of having made reservations and the restaurant not being all that crowded, I was given a table next to the entry to the kitchen. I might go back, but there are so many other choices, it would be hard to justify."

"I invited 4 friends to dine with me here on Saturday night. Our waiter was good. The individuals bringing our meals were terrible. They would stand at our table screaming out the name of the entree until the person who ordered it acknowledged they ordered it. Terrible behavior. The portions were much smaller than usual especially for what they charge for dinner. The food was just so so, a step down from the typical meal. For a 25-30 dollar entree, the expectation is for professionalism. We were seated by the kitchen and the traffic from the wait staff was noisy and disturbing. I will not return for dinner but do like the breakfasts there."

"LOVE this place. We go all the time and have never had a bad meal. Everything is always awesome. Get the brie with honey and almonds, the French onion soup, and the Annapolis crepe!!"

"Food was even better than our expectations. Was shocked - pleasantly - that the escargot came as a full order of 12 rather than only 6 as is common in the U.S."

"They have a great deal, $27 3 course prix fix but you have to order before 6:30. That's easy for us because our dinner time is keyed to our 13 year old son. In helping my not at all "food adventurous" son pick an appetizer, the restaurant owner described pate as "similar to meatloaf". My son finished the pate and wants to go back for more. He also called his steak, as good as he had ever had. My Trout Almondine was delightful - not at all fishy. We'll definitely go back."

"My wife and I enjoyed an excellent meal, on a cold, wet March evening. The staff made us feel particularly welcome. The waiter was attentive and his service was all one could have desired. His recommendations from the menu were good, and the wine list is very fine. We plan to re-visit the restaurant when we are next in Annapolis. Norm from D.C."

"You walk into a very cozy restaurant on Main Street. The restaurant has an air of warmth and friendliness to it. The food is impeccable, presented with style. I had a steak and my friend had the rack of lamb. Both were prepared with perfection. Just the right temperature. The wait staff is attentive without being intrusive. Recommend highly."

"Amazing food and great service. I read lots of the reviews about the bad service. My husband and I got there a few minutes late, used a coupon and asked lots of questions...and our waiter was excellent - very attentive and nice. He even ran back to catch the kitchen to make a last minute change I made to my order. Their french onion soup is the best I've ever had. We also had the escargot...they did a great job."

"Great food and service and loved that they continued the restaurant week menu! The tables are tight...so, if you want some privacy this may not be the place. You can if it's not a busy night and get a table in the corner. Wish the fireplace was on... it was cold outside and this would have been nice to see. Otherwise - great food and presentation. Good portions!"

"Been coming here off and on for 20 years. Food is always reliably excellent, atmosphere is pleasant and romantic, with class. Wine selection is good; wine service is excellent. A few nice "splurge" items--like Chateaubriand for 2, always perfectly done, with a stunning service. Also some quite reasonable items, making it good for any occasion."

"The food and waiter were excellent. The hostess was not. We had a 6PM reservation but did not get seated until 6:15. They were blown away due to large restaruant week crowd. The kitchen had trouble keeping up. The seating is cozy- tables very close together."

"Tuesday afternoon lunch on a drizzly day during Restaurant Week, did not disappoint. This was my first visit, but will not be my last. The restaurant was understandably busy, and happy to see the volume of diners. Cream of cauliflower soup was excellent and the Trout Almondine was delicious."

"We had a very nice dinner, as usual. We always enjoy Cafe Normandie. However, I did note that the charcuterie appetizer plate seems to get more and more expensive, with less and less on it. I understand that everyone's costs continue to rise and it has to be passed along somewhere, but just not sure the charcuterie is the best value anymore. Nonetheless, the portions were plenty for an appetizer and I still enjoyed it, just think it could be priced a little lower. All in all, we had a very nice evening and our waitress was very attentive. Dessert crepes were also great, as usual."

"A very quaint French cuisine restaurant with excellent food right on Main Street. Seating is cozy (tables are very close together) but you get used to it quickly. The wine list is not extensive but has some good choices. The steak au poivre is worth the trip."

"We'd been to Cafe Normandie a number of times, but wandering in on a Monday night for a late Valentine's Day celebration turned out to me a memorable treat. While it always feels authentically French, this time the food was much better than we'd remembered and the service was quite excellent. Our waiter made several well-considered recommendations that we greatly appreciated. We'd have recommended Cafe Normandie before, but now it's on my "highly recommended" list."

"My wife and I have been going to Cafe Normandie since 2006. The restaurant has not disappointed. The food is always top notch and the service has always been excellent. The tables are a bit too close to each other, but on the bright side, we had a nice conversation with the couple sitting next to us. The restaurant is located in the heart of Annapolis's Main Street so parking can be difficult at times. Although not required, a reservation is a must. We went to Cafe Normandie this past Saturday and saw several people who had to be turned away because the restaurant was full - and it was below freezing outside."

"I'm not a spiteful guy, but if I book a reservation a month in advance I expect the restaurant to keep my reservation. We arrived on time, but waited 20 minutes to get seated. They took way too many reservations and added extra tables,or so it seemed. when we finally sat down, we were bumping shoulders with people. The menu was fixed and The ambience died for me and the lady. We left and ended up walking down to Buddy's restaurant. The service there was great! Spacious, friendly, great beer selection, sweet view of town, and definitely brought the mood up. I'm sure Cafe Normandie is fine to go to for a late lunch, but they need to have a limited amount of reservation spots for events, so they don't get backed up and cause this fiasco again"

"This restaurant really did not appeal to me. The menu was over priced for what they were serving. I am not sure what their normal menu is like, but I surely don't want to pay half a car payment for food and be hungry an hour later. The overall layout was crowded, I felt like I was sitting on top of the other tables. I don't have anything truly negative to say about the establishment, I am just writing what I felt."

"Because this has been a favorite for many years, we did not bother to check the Web site before making reservations on Valentine's Day - an evening we usually prefer to spend at home. But this night we had theatre tickets and opted to have dinner first. We were stunned that that their regular menu had been replaced with a "special" menu that cost $85 or $110 with wine pairings. We went with the $85 special, and while the food was excellent, the food is always excellent and the choices usually more to our liking. Next year we will either stay home or do our homework."

"waaaaaay too crowded. They need to remove a few tables. The cornish game hen is presented beautifully with table-side carving that provides lovely cuts of meat on your plate without your having to work through a carcass on your own! raw oyster special was great. some things are a bit old-fashioned but the French waiter was great."
