"love the hot cabbage & lobster dish, so unique and the flavors just explode in your mouth. Fiddleheads were creatively prepared and interesting mix of flavor and texture."

"My wife and I went there for our anniversary as we had heard great things. Food and service was first rate and the entrees were of a decent size albeit pricey. Desert and coffee was also excellent and would definitely return. Only minor drawbacks were the closeness of the tables making private conversation impossible and the music was a little too loud. However, we would definitely return for the right occassion."

"Waban Kitchen was recommended by area local while traveling for business. It was a 20 minute drive and raining so I was seriously thinking about canceling the reservation but the man was so emphatic I go that I didn't cancel. My colleagues and I were pleasantly surprised at the quaint ambiance and delicious food. The menu was a bit funky in their descriptions but don't let that scare you off. Food was terrific, the service outstanding, easy to find and worth the drive!"

"Tucked in a row of stores on Beacon Street near the Angier School, Waban Kitchen is working hard to make a name for itself. With a very small with which to work, the decor is clever and the place has a cozy feel. Food was very good to excellent. With three diners, one of us tried the Chef's Menu, which included delicious crispy fired pickles with horseradish and onion romoulade---really an outstanding appetizer! The main course was BBQ shrimp in a grilled pineapple- perfectly cooked but the sauce was a bit overpowering. Dessert was a a funnel cake with blueberry ice cream. YUMMY! Another diner had trout, which was very tasty and perfectly cooked. Another big plus was the fresh homemade bread with amazingly wonderful pesto. Will try again!"

"at Waban Kitchen. I love the menu, divided up into small servings of different food so you can put together the things you love, and always order 'one more' if you need to (you won't!). They have an extensive beer list, some good wine choices, and I love the look of the place. My only complaint is that I wish it were bigger and easier to get into! I've been three times now, each time with 2 or 3 people, and every time have sat at the communal table (holds 8) in front of the kitchen. I thought I'd hate it but surprisingly, even sharing a table with strangers is pleasant . The staff was friendly without hovering, always available when needed. Hope that they open for lunch too someday."

"Waban Kitchen does it all right. My wife's halibut was undercooked and she didn't have to say a word as the hostess noticed right away and took plate back to kitchen.
Love this place and they do it right"

"Grilled fennel and mango salad was wonderful. Fiddleheads were tasty, moist and not drenched inbutter. Salt and pepper lobster was over cooked and dried out. Trout was bland, cous cous was uninteresting."

"We live just a few blocks away and are just delighted to have such an excellent "neighborhood gem". The food was exquisite and the ambiance was lively, but not too loud. While the menu offerings were limited, there was a fish choice, a meat choice, appetizers and dessert. All were prepared in ana interesting way. However, the main course was of an excellent size and there really wasn't much room or need for more. The cost was a bit steep, so I would save the restaurant for more of a special event.
We are so glad that you are in Waban!"

"I have enjoyed 51 Lincoln Street many times, but was very disappointed in Waban Kitchen. Lobster difficult to handle and overcooked. Long wait for food. Everything fell off flatbread, which was dry."

"It's a very small place. They only have ten tables and they go fast. The tables are very close to each other, but it didn't bother us. The place is not kid friendly, no kid friendly menu. We ordered the lamb, fish and chicken. The lamb dish was very good. Everything else was ok, but not great. The place is expensive.... And I am not sure I can justify it."

"I thought the food was great and the service was outstanding. The only this we did not like was how close the tables were. It felt like you were at a long dining table with all these strangers. There is just inches between tables. We had a loud table of four next to us and on the other side there was a couple with a baby. Next time I would wait for a table at the bar."

"A bit disappointed in some of the courses - braised crispy bacon lardon and home made terrine. On the other hand the roasted stuff artichoke was excellent and the scallops were beautifully cooked. The tables for two were too close for comfort - even on a Saturday night they were not all filled so a bit more space would have made the dining conversation a bit more private."

"Awesome food, super friendly staff, tastefully designed space. Every dish was a piece of culinary art. A unique blend of a neighborhood spot and a world class cuisine. Highly highly recommend. Make reservations well in advance - I am obviously not the only one feeling this way! Absolutely lovely, enjoyable experience. Thank you Waban Kitchen!"

"A small yet comfortable storefront room was graced by friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff and good beverages. A tight "bunchy" lettuce core marred the "perfect" green salad. Day boat scallops dish with black quinoa and mushrooms was attractive and very tasty. Peanut butter mousse pie was to die for."

"They're terrific. Wish they had more space as room between two person tables now down to six inches. Commented to them on this and response was ' you're lucky we added tables or you wouldn't be here' - not the most customer friendly remark. Still food and service very good."

"We liked this place--interesting food. Tables a bit close. Good vibe on a Tuesday night.
Strange comment from waitress: "Your entrees will take from 30--45 minutes since they are cooked to order so you might want to order an appetizer." I thought this was a bit forward."

"We have to say that the menu was limited and typical...but my husband ordered the half chicken and found it so poorly prepared;, semi rare inside, and the flavor kind of not good. He really did not feel well for the rest of the evening. I had the fish baked in banana leaf. So the presentation was pleasant but there was really not much to write home about....Small portions, limited flavor, and costly."

"We were excited to try Waban kitchen for the first time, as we love 51 Lincoln. We ate at the bar where we met Rob, the bar manager- who is a gem. We ordered the stuffed artichoke hearts which were spectacular. We had the chicken and steak, which were both excellent as were the potatoes...the sauces are memorable and we really appreciated the generous amount of sauce that came with each order. Also, loved the plum sorbet...fresh, ultra-lite and a perfect finish. Can't wait to return."

"Waban Kitchen lived up to their billing in the Boston Globe review. Food was excellent, service was at the same level. The Wegyu Beef tartare, Perfect green salad, and prosciutto, feta flatbread with arugala were perfectly done. The green salad featured candied Meyer lemon peel, a bright sweet/sour taste that worked well. Sea scallops and the roasted 5 Spice chicken were perfectly prepared. I still think a roasted chicken is one of the best indicators of a kitchens' ability, and this was one of the best. Service was personable and professional. Dessert was plum sorbet, and lemon merangue pie, both were delightful."

"Food was just wonderful - great blend of flavors & Textures right down to the most incredible lemon Merangue pie with flash fried basil that exploded On your tongue - we sat at the bar as the tables Against the wall are not conducive to Conversation - my one disappointment With the restaurant is the seating arrangements! Bar was very suitable for two but would not Go there with more people unless I could be Guaranteed the table for 4 in the window!!! All in all however - food was heavenly - wine list Great choices - service was just fine -"

"This was my second visit to Waban Kitchen. it's a great little neighborhood spot with a lot of vibe. Even on a miserable rainy Wednesday night the restaurant was full. There were several parties of young people celebrating birthdays which added to the cheerful atmosphere. The food is really good and the wait staff is friendly, informed and attentive. The only negative is the noise level. Conversation can be a little difficult.
I'm a long time patron of their parent restaurant 51 Lincoln. Waban Kitchen is a wonderful casual miniature."
