"We visited for brunch on Sunday. The food is authentic, european flavors. All unique tastes and textures. The service staff was attentive. I spoke with the chef and she is a real gem. A plus is the home-made breads, jellies, bread-pudding. Very nice ambiance."

"This was great Mediterranean food beautifully presented. The server was attentive and helpful in explaining the meal. We had the fixed price dinner. Everything was very tasty and artistically presented on the plate. For dessert we had the bread pudding. It was the first time I tried it and it was absolutely delicious. The white wine (chardonnay) that we had with the meal complimented the food. We went for dinner before a show in downtown Sacramento and it was a great way to start a Friday night out. We would definitely go again."

"Absolutely the best food. Have been there 4 times now and will be back again. Prices are so reasonable. Owner was smiling and dancing about while cooking. You could see how much pride she takes in preparing your order."

"The food and service were both very good. We enjoyed ourselves. However, it took an hour and a half total and we'd have liked to get out quicker. We'd go back though."

"We enjoyed our dinner quite a bit. The lamb was excellent, and we really enjoyed the unique menu. We did notice that there was not a host or hostess on duty, so the server was having to perform double duty. There seemed to be several parties that came and waited and left before being helped. Having someone on duty on the weekends at least should be considered."

"this dinner turned into a dumpster fire. Lets start with- no hostess to greet or seat you, a lost reservation (done thru Open Table), servers literally running from tables to service areas, choppy service that found my entree arrive five minutes before my spouses', waitstaff stealing entrees from another order, no coordination of back and front of house, and a very weird floor plan. Going here anytime soon, no thanks I'll pass......."

"We were in a hurry to make a Broadway show and the service was a little slow. I think they weren't prepared for the results from the Sacramento Bee article about them.
The food was great! Wish we had planned a leisurely evening, so we could have enjoyed our meal and had dessert."

"The food was terrific. My only negative comment would be that the bread should be more freely available. We had to ask for extra bread and got a small portion. The bread and sauces, by the way, was great. This is a very good place with lots of variety on the menu."

"Gonul's cooking is utterly unique. Every meal is an unexpected delight, leaving you trying to analyze what made a certain sauce or combination so exquisite, and I can never quite put my finger on or identify what it was. Service is slow (they really need to hire a host or hostess), but try to overlook that and savor the food. Go with lots to talk about and enjoy each moment and each dish. You'll want to try them all. The breads are to die for!"

"We visited on Easter Sunday. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated immediately-very nice on such a busy day. The brunch was a buffet ranging from eggs to short ribs. We loved all of it. The perserves, biscuits and the salad dressing were made by the chefs/owners of Trios. Most of the herbs, fruits and vegtables on the menu are grown at the restaurant. After brunch, we shopped at the restaurant store and bought seasoned olive oil, chocholate and dates-all of it was delicious. This was our first visit to Trios-can't wait to go back to try more."

"I had the pizzetta appetizer, which was fresh and tasty. I also had the carrot and avocado salad, but unfortunately, the avocados were bad, so mine were replaced with other yummy bites. It's a huge salad. My sweetie had the curried lentil soup (also a huge portion.) He loved it, but thought it was a bit mild on the curry seasoning. He also had the Zekiye appetizer; a Turkish Calzone of fingerling potatoes and mascarpone served with French Sorrell gratin. This is a very large portion to share as an appetizer or to eat as a main course.
Service was very attentive."

"What a treat and total dining surprise! This Greek influenced menu is packed with great choices. We all had something different for lunch and enjoyed it all. I recommend the spicy warm chick salad. Not too spicy, fresh, healthy portions and delicious. The martket carries all kinds of fun spices, teas and backed goods. PS The wine bar is great and happy hour starts at 2pm if you want to try an appetizer for half price. – Tamie, Sacramento"

"My first visit to Trio will not be my last! From the time the owner Gonul greeted us at the door and seated us to the time we left, it was a great experience. She explained the menu very well and gave us some background of her cooking experience. There were three of us in the party and we shared a yummy appetizer and then all ordered three different entrees so we could share. Every dish we tried was vibrant with herbs and flavor galore. The wine list was good and the house cabernet not bad for the price. Definitely a pleasant dining experience."

"The food was excellent and I loved the ambiance. Owner greeted us at our table with a plate of fresh baked bread and a delicious spread. Checked on us to see if we were receiving excellent service. Which we were!
I went to lunch there with a co-worker but felt it would also be a great place to bring my husband for a romantic dinner date. Highly recommend!"

"Our first time at Trio. We will definitely go back. The food is Mediterranean concept, the presentation met expectations, and the food was savory and delightfully complex. We went in response to a review by Blair Anthony Roberson. I concur was his assessment.
Trio is a fine addition to the Midtown restaurant scene."

"Food is outstanding. The wait staff could use a little more training. When busy, there was some confusion on where meals went and timing of courses was a bit inconsistent."

"The menu has quite a variety of dishes. I have only tried two entrees both were excellent. Try the lamb stew with the couscous couscous side. Well seasoned with a little surprise in the couscous couscous. I have only tried the bread pudding desert and it was delicious. the owner was present and very attentive."

"The wholesome food, often from owner's organic herbal and vegetable garden, was delicious. It's a gem!! I had meatloaf, my husband had the shortribs . . .I can't say enough about how wonderful everything was . . ."

"The worst restaurant service I have had in at least 10 years. It took 15 minutes for someone to show up and take our order, which included 2 glasses of wine. Three requests later, as we were finishing dinner, the wine--not the wine we ordered, mind you--finally appeared. The entire operation felt as if 15 people who had never before worked in the restaurant industry had been parachuted in that night and told to run the place. And the staff seemed clueless about how unprofessional their performance was. Never again."

"Outstanding food. Servers very good and worked hard, but TRIO is understaffed in this area. Be prepared to wait. That being said, the wait is well worth the food. We look forward to our next visit."

"Food may have been excellent but it was cold by the time it reached the table and tasted as though it had been microwave reheated. There was a nice ambience, but was tarnished by the fact that wait staff were very stressed and the wait was very long for each course."

"THis is a nice restaurant and the staff was excellent. However the food was mediocre. it seemed like the chef was trying too hard. The Ceasar salad was tasty but had too much dressing and no cheese. The Greek salad was nothing like a Greek salad and had merlot grapes on it. These mini grapes with seeds were not edible since the seeds were bitter and the grapes too small to deal with. I appreceiate the creativity but it was misdirected with these grapes! Also, some of these grapes were rotton. the main course was good but unremarkable."

"Ambiance was very modern. Fireplace in middle of restaurant . We had 4 courses and all were excellent. All the food had so much flavor we couldn't wait for the next course. Even the salad was full of flavor. The Turkish red wine was really good too. The food is Turkish flaire. The only chef is the owner and she has a cookbook out. There is also a little market where you can buy fresh dried herbs, even saffron and other items that the owner herself makes. If you are looking for something different with tons of good flavor (and not necessarily spicey) you've got to try this place. We will be back many more times."

"We were the only ones in the restaurant for diner at 6pm. It was kind of weird. Unlike other reviews mentioned, there was no music on. We got to listen to the inauguration news blasting from the bar. Not how I wanted my dinner accompanied. The waiter was efficient, but seemed really uninterested. I would think, since he had no one else to wait on we would have felt a little more welcome. The soup and salad were tasty and well presented. We had the turlu which was like a chicken stew with meatballs. It was flavorful but not oh wow. I could do just as well in my slow cooker with the same herbs. We wee using a groupon type coupon so we saved some money. I probably would not go back."
