The owners and management of Bentley's Steak & Chop House are dedicated to providing a high quality dining and entertainment experience in a classic steak house ambiance while serving you with a highly trained staff of professionals. We serve only the highest quality meats, seafood, produce, and other ingredients while making everything except our bakery products, which are delivered daily, fresh from scratch. We also feature one of North County's most extensive wine lists that is very progressively priced. "My filet was very good. My son's hamburger was prepared wrong, my daughter's ahi was good and my sister's roast beef was good. Nothing outstanding. Our waitress was not prepared for the crowd, she had no help..no busboys etc."

"Went there for Mother's day. Food was very good. Splurged for a 2009 Duckhorn Cab for $98. Not an unreasonable markup given that it goes for ~$65 in the store. Could have been chilled a bit more (felt like it was room temp rather than low 60s as a cab should be served. Very nice waitress, very good food."

"Very masculine décor but stylish. Everything is dark toned; the layout is good in that the dining area is spread out enough to provide a nice ambiance. The outside dining area is a little more cluttered but seems adequate for larger parties. The steaks were excellent and cooked exactly too order. Our server was very attentive and professional."

"The service was casual and friendly, not like Mr. A's, but with more refinement than a beach fish house. I liked the atmosphere. Would like to try outside dining when the weather warms. My medallions were delicious. My husband's filet mignon was slightly tough on the exterior edges because of over-searing, but the center was wonderful. The veggies were crisp, not overcooked. Desserts were wonderful, particularly the lemon posset. I like the fact that wine is served out of the mini carafe. It seems like such a waste to change out wine glasses every time, unless you are changing your wine selection."

"Enjoyed lunch with girlfriends. Not too many people there for lunch today, so it was great to have our conversations. Had Soup of the day and Salads. Only suggestion is that they slice the bread in the kitchen and then bring it out. It's messy at the table and hard to slice from and sitting position."

"My wife and I visited on Saturday nite. She ordered the Ribeye, I ordered the Prime Rib. Both were good meals, but nothing on par with the high-end steakhouses like Ruth's Chris or Flemings. Au gratin potatoes were pretty tasty, but very decadent so I didn't each much. The clam chowder was good but not great--needed more seasoning. Had the poke/ahi? nachos and those were pretty good. This place is in the former Marie Callendars spot but they really haven't done much to the place (decor, layout, etc)to make it stand out. Overall it was a good meal but a bit pricey so I wouldn't return. For that money I'd go to a proven place like Flemings."

"This is the second time we've eaten at this restaurant. I enjoyed our first visit much better. The restaurant was a lot more crowded this time and I felt that we were "cramped" into our space.
Additionally, we ordered the "Sunday Dinner Special". While this is a good deal, the piece of prime rib they serve is much too "thin" and leaves a lot to be desired. It is so thin that it doesn't appear appetizing. The potatoes that accompanied it were also pasty. This is the second time I've had the potatoes and I would not recommend them nor would I order them again.
I would try this restaurant again but would definitely order from the regular menu."

"We keep returning to Bentley's for the excellent food choices and the overall great service. The staff acknowledges our arrival, and is always friendly and ready to please. We've told our grown children about the restaurant and they have plans to visit soon. "very reasonable for the quality of food. Steaks are well prepared. Service excellent but this place has potential to be more gourmet being in Rancho Santa Fe. Expect faire prices and good food but you dont have the foodie menu such as burlap flemings and others. I like more exotic appetizers and fare as well."

"I had the Tournadoes in Pepper Cream sauce cooked medium rare and my husband had the chicken. The steak was flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. I was concerned that the peppercorn cream might be too peppery but it was not overpowering. I also ordered the augratin potatoes and they were excellent, moist with just the right amount of cheddar to awaken my tastebuds. My husbands meal was also excellent. The chicken, which I think was actually half a Cornish Game Hen was bursting with flavor and was moist and delicious. We will definitely return."
