"Great italian food served in a small neighborhood restaurant. One of our favorite for pasta although I had fish this time which was outstanding. The are very good at modifying menu items to meet special requests. A good selection of wines at reasonable prices."

"Mike, the owner of Aliotta's Via Firenze was so terrific with our party of 5! I thought that I had made an Open Table Reservation but when we checked in, his computer did not show our reservation. He found a great table for us, and our server was amazing as we told him we had to leave by 7:40 to go to the theater. Our food was really excellent - the limoncello dessert served by the wonderful lady who makes all of the desserts was mouth watering. I love this restaurant. It is a South Bay fine, and you don't break the bank when you got there!"

"I've been a few times recently and love their volo pasta. This last visit the service was very slow - servers were polite but forgot to bring our shared Caesar salad and after a very long wait we got the entrees instead. We were asked if we wanted to have the entrees held and get the salad ("they gave the salad to another table) and we declined. But it was still on our bill so we had to send the bill back for adjustment. But the food is quite good and the restaurant is pretty."

"We were seated quickly and waited on promptly. Had the special appetizer that was excellent and sole picata that was also excellent. The owner stopped by several times to talk. We brought two bottles of wine and between the bottles, the owner insisted we get fresh wine glasses. As in Italy, we were definitely rushed to order or to free up the table. We will definitely return."

"My family and friends have eaten at Via Firenze on many occasions, special and casual. It's a bit pricier than where we usually go, but well worth it for a really special dining experience. Although not required to make reservations, it's probably safer to do so, especially on weekends, and the online reservation process is easy. The entire staff is knowledgeable about the menu, and the food is superb. The ambiance is comfortable elegance; great for a romantic dinner. The noise level is quiet to moderate depending on the crowd; they can provide a private curtained-off section for larger dinner parties, but not a separate room, so it can get a bit noisy, but not uncomfortably so. The background music is not intrusive."

"What a surprise. Tired of the usual places my wife and I go, I found this on Open Table and suggested we give it a try. My wife was reluctant since she doesn't feel great about going to restaurants situated in a mini-mall. However, it seems that in many parts of the country, this is often necessary.
My only criticism is that we arrived 15 minutes early for the reservation and they seated us, but not a single person stopped by the table to even offer us a glass of water. Sure, it's nice to be seated, but at least a glass of water would be nice.
Once we finally received a visit from our waiter everything was fantastic. Perhaps they were a little understaffed that night. My wife ordered the Sole which was served and prepared perfectly."

"Wow! I've been to Aliotta's Via Firenze 3 times and it's the finest authentic Italian restaurant I can imagine. I spoke to the owner, Michael, and over 95% of the ingredients used in the restaurant are imported from Italy. I truly felt like I was in the Old Country! In addition to the suberb dishes served up, the service and personal touches make Via Firenze standout. They will go out of their way to prepare a dish the way you like or you can order right off the menu and it will be awesome. The wine list is amazing and we certainly look forward to the next time we are in Torrance to go there again!

"I recognized that it was valintines day but, the service was very slow and the server had to be asked three times for plan drinking water and serval times for parmesan cheese. It appeared that when people orderd bottled water, service was much faster. When dinner was over and the table cleared I had to motion to the server to get his attention that we were waiting for the dinner check. Other guess sitting next to us expressed the same experience with regards to the water.
The food, not withstanding the service, was very good."

"We bought a restaurant.com coupon for $10 worth $25. It was a great buy to discount our $100 lunch bill. However, I do not appreciate that when my credit card bill came back, a whooping 25% tips is handwritten on there for me already. We had a party of three, and it was lunch. I don't think that much of gratitude fees should be forced upon us. I won't come back!"

"I recommended this restaurant to my family for dinner for a nice relaxing dinner. The service was poor the waiter had a big party and although their was 5 of us he seemed very disinterested in providing or offering any specials for the evening, recommendations or quite frankly anything. I ordered a veal dish that was underwhelming, my son ordered a pasta dish that was swimming in the sauce eventhough it was a thick fetticini pasta...my mother in law ordered a dish with olives and some of the pits were not removed she almost chocked on one. We felt that if we said anything to the waiter or the owner(which my sister-in-law did at the end) it wouldn't make a difference and it didn't. I'm sorry to say but I will not return to this local spot"

"We had a group of 13 ladies and the staff did their best. Service was slow. We arrived at 12 noon and I was served at 1 pm. For $14 I received a bowl of pasta with chicken and artichokes. It was good, but a little dry. My only complaint was with the number of errors that were made with orders and incorrect charges on the bill. One lady ordered a chicken dish and was given veal...and charged extra for it. Another lady ordered a sausage dish, and received chicken. She asked for gluten free pasta and was charged extra. Nowhere on the menu did it state there was an extra charge for gluten free. One lady had a $6.00 side salad and was charged $7.00. We paid without argument, but it left a bad feeling with many."
