Limon
The vision for Limón, Denver’s eclectic Latin American bistro, began during Chef Alex Gurevich's trips to the Latin American region. Continually in awe of and impressed by the richness of the culture and cuisine, he envisioned a place in Denver where people could gather to experience the warmth and liveliness of Latin America. Limón's space was built with this concept in mind. It is rustic and inviting, comfortable and chic. Burgundy walls, exposed brick, wide plank wood floors and antique casks set an undeniably warm tone. The restaurant and patio offer distinctly different settings where guests can enjoy the food, the ambience and the energy that represent the Latin American lifestyle.

"Nice variety of dishes. For people that are not from the countries represented it will be a nice and new experience. Generally speaking the dishes are well executed. However, most of the dishes are more inspired by the originals than the real thing. They need to pull back on the salt a bit. That will make their already good soups outstanding. The habanero salsa that goes with the gorditas was really good. The drinks are well prepared and presented. The latin american beers are not well represented. I do not understand why a latin american inspired restaurant does not have a good representation of quiality rums from the Spanish Caribbean Islands. Service was efficient and professional but not special. I would recommend this place to others."

"Great food! Delicious twists on classic south American food. Dishes are smaller and meant to be shared which was perfect as there was so many items I wanted to try. Each was unique and was difficult to decide which one was the best. I highly recommend this, smaller, quiet and unique restaurant."

"I LOVE this place. I can't say enough about it. I'm gluten-free and they have a ton of options on the menu to choose from. It's nice for groups and couples. Especially if someone in the group has to watch what they eat - allergies.
Everything = DELICIOUS!!!! Drinks = AWESOME!!!!
Well worth a visit. I promise you, you will fall in love with Limon and you'll be back."

"Limon was a mediocre experience. The menu listed on the 5280 website did not reflect what we encountered when we arrived. The ambiance is lackluster; we were seated at a large table in the middle of the tiny restaurant and therefore did not receive much privacy. The biggest complaint our table had was that the staff was too attentive to bussing the table. My wine glass was taken from me before I was able to refill it with the bottle we purchased and we were asked more than once if we were "done with our plates". It seemed as though the staff was hurrying us out, despite the fact that we racked up a $200 bill."

"The restaurant is nice, the menu interesting and it is in a great little location. It is just the food is really overpriced for what you get. I went there recently and ordered empanadas (I got two) and scallops (I got two small ones), I got a drink, a glass of wine and split a dessert and it was about $45 with tip. It was good but just not worth the price."

"We had several major issues with Limon. First let me say that the food was good... but not great enough to get us back there. When our first dish of clams in chorizo broth came the dish it was served in was so hot that when my husband just barely brushed his finger across it he got a second degree burn. The dish was a stainless steel cazuela with big handles that were impossible to avoid. Just a bad idea for serving this dish. The waitress was very apologetic and helpful but when we talked with the manager he did not seem to be very concerned. It took another half hour of him watching my husband with his finger immersed in ice water to then decide that maybe he should try to make it up to us with a glass of port. Management is poor."

NOTE to Open Table: The "Noise" rankings are misleading. "Energetic" can be construed as a positive, & sometimes appropriate quality, in a restaurant, & thus doesn't describe the whole picture. "Noisy" may be a better descriptor. When I am dining out, an "Energetic" noise level is frankly exhausting; but someone else may enjoy it. I don't want the sound to compete with my conversation. Why not add another choice? Quiet, Moderate, Energetic, Noisy --- and Don't Recall (tho I don't understand why you offer that choice here & not in Ambiance too). Thank you -!"

The small plate concept made it fun to try a variety of different choices. The cocktail list was unique and delicious. "I don't get it. Isn't 5280 to get people to try new restaurants? Well, that's what we do and every year we add a new place or two in our rotation. We look forward to reviewing the menu and picking our restaurant experiences. So, when the menu at the restaurant didn't match the online picks I was confused. Isn't the cost of the food going to outweigh the patron goodwill? We fought over which five and now we only get four? We are not wine people either. The reservations were made almost three weeks in advance but we still had to wait. I understand it's a small place, so we may have not even noticed the pace if we'd had a great evening. Unfortunately, the stress of which taste to cut caused anxiety and stress instead of a relaxing evening."

"We enjoyed the food and service at Limon. However, due to the Restaurant Week website, we were sorely disappointed in the selection. According to the website, we were to receive p/diner 1 appetizer, 2 main, 1 dessert and 1 glass of wine or beer. When we arrived, there was a special 5280 menu consisting of 2 main selections and 1 glass of wine (no beer)p/diner and 1 dessert to share. Not exactly as advertised. I understand having to limit the menu but this was a bit of bait-and-switch. When we questioned our server (delightful), she checked with the manager who told her those were just 'suggestions'. We have participated in Restaurant Week many times over the years but this is the first disappointing experience."
