This charming Upper East Side café exudes comfort and conviviality, with parchment shades that soften light from sconces that warm the room. Eager to please, the kitchen uses high-quality ingredients for its mix-and-match philosophy. Patrons can choose their meats, their pastas (dried or, for a slight surcharge, the restaurant's own homemade), and their sauces (from a simple marinara to a more complex carbonara) as they create their own dishes.
For dessert, you can't go wrong with a cappuccino or a chocolate tartufo all served up with a smile.
"We love this place. The food is delicious and affordable for Italian food. The dining room is very pretty with a cute front patio and a lovely back garden!"

"Used to like the food at this UES place. I guess they have decided to keep the prices low and quality even lower. Pasta (cheese tortellini) ordered was like mush. Baco bits (not real Italian bacon) were used in the carbonara sauce...yuk! Will not be returning."

"Good neighborhood Italian. Would rate it higher but they have crammed in too many tables so there are two 4-tops in the middle that are in the line of of traffic to and from the kitchen and the aisles are too small. You are always being bumped and have hot food passing over your head - not pleasant."

"What a nice find! Wait staff great, owner- involved. Loved the multiple house made pastas. Garden in back will be nice when warmer. Every nook and cranny was filled w tables. Had a Sunday night 1/2 price wine special. Overall great food and evening"

"Average east-sider. Food was uninspiring - but we were there for lunch, so maybe they improve after 5p. While no fault of the restaurant, the dining area was noisy, mostly from four men - one of which could stop talking and giggling loudly - but the small size of the dining area made sure everyone heard this table."

"Food was mediocre. Waitress did not know the wine lost and did not know that Pinot Grigio was an Italian wine. Good for teenagers and twenty something's."

"I took my friend here for her birthday - she loved it! The food was very good and the service was great - I had forgotten my reading glasses and the restaurant lent me a pair so I could see the menu. The food is excellent and the menu is varied - wine is a little pricey at $10 a glass for all types of wine. Hhowever, it was a lovely evening."

"Good, non-gussied up food, comfortable surroundings and quiet enough for adult conversation. A great place to go when you want your money's worth and don't need to impress"
