Boulevard 18
Boulevard 18 Bistro and Wine Bar is a neighborhood restaurant on Main Street in the village of New Canaan CT. The menu is comprised of bistro classics, with our own unique twists. Everything from the frites to the 3 types of sausages, pâté, gravlax, pickles, duck confit and desserts including the ice cream and sorbet are made in-house. As many ingredients as possible are organic, sustainable and locally sourced.
We give the wine list the same attention. Wines are selected for quality and value with an excellent representation of major regions in France. We feature 20+ wines by the glass, a selection of craft-brewed beer and a full bar, featuring artisanal spirits and cocktails with fresh juices and herbs, and house-made infusions.
The beautiful room, in burgundy and dark wood is highlighted by an antique wall sized map of Paris. The custom-made zinc topped bar seats 15. Guests may sit at comfortable banquettes, at the zinc bar, counter or high-top communal table.

"Wonderful surprise - great food and service. Tried a sample of appetizers - escargot, mushroom ravioli and grilled octopus salad - all terrific! Dinner was crispy duck salad and chicken paillard - also amazing. Would definitely go back and recommend to others."

"Though still a pleasant experience, the food seems to be slipping a little. My last two dinners here have not been as good as I remembered. Perhaps it was because I ordered the fish. I'd recommend trying the chicken or pork."

"When we arrived at the restaurant early to have a drink before our sceduled dinner reservation we were told by the hostess that there were two people at the end of the bar that would soon be giving up their seats to sit down. Because the bar was very full we were happy to have the tip. We found a vacant seat a the end of the bar and then when the couple got up we took one of their seats. After ordering our drinks from the female bartender and while waiting to be served, the male bartender abruptly asked us to get up because he said that there were two people who were waiting for seats. The first bartender said we should stay. My husband and I were quite shocked by this incident as it was totally inappropriate and extremely impolite."

"This was a family occasion. A varied menu, very impressive. Excellent main courses and dessert is to die for. Service was par excellence. Wonderful quiet ambience, and yet very very child friendly. i'd recommend Boulevard 18 for quiet dinners, small groups, and anyone wanting to enjoy a wonderful evening out."

"An excellent, comfortable and relatively casual bistro/brasserie type restaurant. Comfortable environment, but nothing special in terms of decor. Food is thoughtful, well prepared. Service is solicitous and timely. Prices are a bit on the high side. Recommended as a good find since Southern Fairfield County does not seem to have many restaurants which come close to NYC standards of food."

"I think our first visit to this restaurant caught them on an unexpectedly busy Wednesday night. The manager seemed very surprised to see a virtually sold-out room, and the restaurant ran out of some things before 8PM, like oysters. The food was good, not great, and the service was fine after a bit of a slow start. The place seems to have been very successful from its inception, and there is certainly enough here to make ot worth a return trip. The protions can be on the huge side, so you get your money's worth, and the wine list has some nice bottles on the low-price side."

"I am always excited to find a restaurant that we will visit again! This was quite the find! I would highly recommend if you are looking for something delicious and a cozy environment this is the spot. The crowd on Saturday was a good looking sophisticated, 40plus crowd. "A "traditional" French bistro done right. Highlights were bibb lettuce salad with loads of fresh tarragon (tasty and refreshing)and profiteroles (tender pastry, delicious ice cream and to-die-for chocolate sauce). Waitress was very honest and helped guide our main course selections to the house specialties. Wine was delicious. All added up to be a more expensive evening than we had planned, but we had a great time, excellent food and did not feel at all rushed. I hope to go back soon, but it may be just for salad and dessert."

"The food was tremendous - the mushroom ravioli appetizer is a must-have. Our server made excellent entree recommendations and suggested great wine pairings. Kale salad was another standout. I would definitely recommend this restaurant (I already have!) and will definitely return."
