"We've been trying all the restaurants in the newly renovated section of Mission Hills, San Diego, on Washington Street. Some fellow locals suggested we give it a try. Nice atmosphere, decent service average food. Not bad but just another average Italian restaurant."

"We have been to Olivettos several times because it is convenient but the food is pretty mediocre. The chicken in the Chicken Marsala was like rubber the last time and the bruscetta appetizer was boring.
The service is very amateur, always interrupting our conversations to take orders/clear plates and trying to rush our meal.
It was obvious (at 9pm on Saturday night) that they wanted us to finish and leave and when we did, no one
(including the elderly man---maybe the owner) who held the door open, said "thank you" or "goodbye".
In short, the food was mediocre and the service was not friendly.
We will probably not return there."

"This is a wonderful place for a group of friends or a dinner alone with a friend. We love the food and the service. The lemoncello dessert is out of this world and I've never had better prepared salmon. Can't do much better. Plus it's reasonably priced!"

"This dinner outing was for my husband's birthday and was a great disappointment. I had the Cotoletta Alla Milanese, "tender veal chop breaded and pan fried". If it had been a piece of breaded cardboard I would not have been able to tell the difference. It was dry and tasteless. Because it was so dry I asked the waitress for some marinara sauce and instead of being concerned that the dinner was awful I was charged for the sauce. My husband had a chicken dish which was average. The service was fine but the food was not good and I felt I had wasted my money. I did not want to make an unpleasant scene and completely spoil the evening but we won't be back."

"Olivetto was a nice cozy restaurant with a good ambiance. The hostess had our reservation wrong which was kinda of suprising since I reserved it on Open Table. Nonetheless, we were still seated. It took like 5 minutes before we were greeted by the waiter and by that time me and my wife already knew what we wanted. I ordered the filet mignon which came with roasted potatoes and other veggies. My wife ordered the special mahi mahi w/shrip and the same veggies. Needless to say, they were both delicious. Kudos for the food. Service was pretty good after the initial wait. Overall, we would most likely come back."

"I picked this restaurant for its lunch menu- paninis and salads. First, our table was not ready when we arrived even though there was nobody else dining. The salads and appetizers were tasty, but the paninis were terrible. They should have been called greasy vegetables on thick rolls. The bread was not toasted and had the consistency of a torta. When we asked for the check, the waiter then told us that the credit card machine was not working. The desserts were excellent though. If this restaurant improves its paninis, it would be a great lunch place."

"We have been here many times and always enjoy it. Our favorite dish is the butternut squash ravioli . Usually the service is excellent and knowledgable but this time our waiter may ave been new and when asked about a wine he just said, I don't know. Then he brought the wrong meal. The salad did not meet our expectations. We had salad with mango and pecans. There were maybe 3 thin slices of mango and 4 or 5 pecans. Overpriced for what you get. We also had chicken Marsala which was delicious. The atmosphere is lovely and we will continue to go to this neighborhood gem."
