Bistro 1130 is a charming escape from the hustle and bustle of metro St. Louis life. The moment you step past our serene patio into the glow of warm bronze lighting you feel transported to an easier time... after which all you need is a glass of wine from our eclectic menu or a handcrafted cocktail to start the evening and you will truly feel as if you have left it all behind. Chef Kevin's ingredient driven, globally inspired menu utilizes rotating fresh fish boards as well as ever-changing steaks and chops paired with local seasonal ingredients to create entrees which will undoubtedly leave you with only one thought: what will we have next time?

"We started off with a bottle of wine but found it was not on the menu. It was promptly recommended by the sommalier to another more expensive bottle, but they only charged us for the less expensive bottle. The Bistro 1130 French onion was too hot for human consumption so I had to eat it after the salad. My wife got the Boston Butter salad which was fantastically refreshing. The brussel sprout slaw was dry with too much fennel. The chicken cooked au poivre was nice. The lamb porterhouse cooked bistro style was just okay. I ordered the mushrooms but never got them but was not charged. My told the waiter she was gluten free but she still got servered bread. It is that attention that was lacking. Overall it was good. May return if in the area."

"It started with the steak tartar, which was a chuck of tasteless meat on a plate with ingredients to mix yourself. The other dishes were masked with inappropriate cheese. I will not return"

"Food was excellent. Service by Erin and Isaac was one of my best experiences dining out ever. House made cocktails were delicious and unique. Only downside was they were out of the bolognaise even though it appeared that we were one of the few early evening diners. Highly recommend for a evening out with the girls or date night."

"We went for our anniversary. Romantic, quiet. We went early and on a Wednesday so we had the place to ourselves for a while and were not seated next to anyone. My husband had a filet mignon that he said was cooked perfectly. We had the mussels for an appetizer, delicious, cooked perfectly. For dessert, we had the chocolate cake raspberry mousse trifle that was complimentary for our anniversary . We loved it and will definitely be back."

"First time visiting with the new spring menu changes and they are fantastic. Green lip mussels rockefeller were surprising and not to be missed. Chop board is always a great way to go. Spring risotto has an amazing truffle aromatic that paired wonderfully with the scallops. Service was attentive and wine selections are always a highlight. We'll be back again soon."

"We went to Bistro 1130 on a Tuesday night for our anniversary. The server and hostess were both friendly and knew the menu very well. Loved, loved, loved the scallops I ordered and my hubby enjoyed his fish (can't remember what kind) as well. Dessert and wine were excellent too. I will definitely return, maybe when the weather is warmer so I can sit on the pretty patio."

"We went to Bistro 1130 for the first time for our anniversary. I have no idea why we haven't discovered it sooner. Everything was good. The specialty cocktails were tasy, the wine recommendations spot-on. For appetizers we had the fried artichoke and cheese plate. We had the butternut squash and French onion soup, both excellent. "Really cute little place for a nice quiet romantic meal - or so we thought. Our table was so close to the two on our right and on our left that I felt like I had dinner with 4 unwelcome guests. I know everything about the one couples financial future and what the other couple was watching at the movies later. It was awkward and uncomfortable. We were not eavesdropping but the opposite we felt like we had to look only at each other or else appear to be intruding. As far as the food goes it really affected our enjoyment. The escargot were good but would have preferred the puff pastry be individual with each escargot.The french onion soup was bland.The chicken bistro was delicious but I was so unnerved by that point that I took it home."

"Our experience was mixed. Food was great; atmosphere a matter of taste; service a tale of two halves. The restaurant is very small, seating maybe 20 tables inside. Depending on taste, good or bad. Once the table next to us was seated we could hear their conversation about as much as our own. They only have so much space, but it was a bit close. Initially service was top notch. Our waiter explained the menu well. As the place filled up and he got busier, he disappeared for a long time. The table next to us also was frustrated by this (more vocally than us). Food was excellent. We each had filets with different preparations and enjoyed every bite. We didn't dare dessert with our waiter gone. A nice meal but poor service hurt the evening."

"My son is one of the chefs at the Bistro. He treated our family to a six course tasting menu that was to die for! All the flavors were balanced and whimsical! I even had things that now like that I didn't before. Service was outstanding! They are able to do so much with very little staff in a packed dining room! Thank you for a great night Bistro 1130!"

"Haven't been to this restaurant in some time, and were happy that we went back. Service was quite good. The menu is focused, but well executed. A bit noisy. Wine choices were varied, from value to upper-middle pricing.
We'll be back!"

"Loved it! It was a special birthday dinner and the restaurant was a perfect choice. You feel special dining there. Service was great! I really liked the menu. Lots of good choices and variety and still you could manage the cost because items were priced separately."

"We've dined at Bistro several times and this weekend was exceptionally busy but also the best service we've ever encountered. Started at the bar and the craft cocktails are on par with what you would find at any of the specialty cocktail bars around. The executive chef seems to be working the dining room more and all of the servers are on the top of their game. Escargot was perfect, not too salty or overly briney. Fish specials continue to impress. Had the seafood linguine and tiger prawn/scallops done picatta style. So good!!"
