Situated on the border of the South of Market and Dogpatch districts, Mission Rock Resort is located directly on the San Francisco Bay, one mile south of AT&T Park. Mission Rock Resort features spectacular views of the Bay and the Pier 70 dry dock, the largest dock of its kind on the West Coast.
Mission Rock Resort features the freshest sustainable seafood available. Our preparations take into consideration seasonality, availability, and quality. The wine list is a compilation of approachable affordable selections from around the world. Our cocktails provide fun and interesting enhancements to compliment the meal.

"We ate outside which was really nice - they even had a heater! The food was "ok" and the menu was really limiting. I'm glad we were able to eat outside, as the inside was really loud and noisey. It is definitely a place that we will return...probably more for lunch."

"I had come here a few months back and thought the food and cocktails were great. This time, I found the food only mediocre and they didn't quite make my cocktail right (it was one of their signature drinks on their menu too), which may be due to the fact the bar was overwhelmed. I may try them again hoping that perhaps that night was just an off night for them."

"The service is amazing from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. We have only been a few times and have always sat on patio. The servers work together as a team and there is always a manager in sight. They always remember us and check in with us. Fun on a date or with children."

"Great experience and wait staff. Good food and great setting. Had a restaurant.com coupon which I showed them at the beginning of the meal. At the end they refused to accept it. Ok, but should have told us at the beginning or made accommodation at the end for their error. Bad form and had to lower the top to pay the unexpected high tab."

"The food was wonderful. The server attempted to do the best she could however it looked as though she, and one other server, were the only two serving the entire restaurant. This lack of servers created a negative experience (not due to the actual server but rather the lack of servers) which not have me return nor will I recommend for others to go. I see that as a management issue which by the way I did not see to help overcome the challenge."

"...I'd love to sing accolades for Mission Rock Resort but then EVERYONE will end up going there! Suffice to say the food, the service, the bar, the staff are AHmazing! And what takes the cake...the view! And its Portrero Hill so its always sunny. There's nothing like sipping in bottomless Mimosas and hanging with good friends over brunch and just relaxing...and 4 hours later...best brunch of my life!"

The only bread there wasn't enough of was the french bread. Even a request for more

The service was pretty bad, but not sure that was the servers fault. We waited 40min before we got our appetizers so good thing we weren't in a hurry. They said they had
to make more calamari (breaded, but delish) thought maybe they had to catch it too.
We'll definately go again, but not for a quick bite.
The deck is great on a nice day like we had, so if you have time for a leisurely lunch, enjoy."

"I have eaten at the Rock ten to fifteen times and I love the whole package. Another Peter Osborne gem that has the best view of the bay from south of the Bay Bridge. The Rock has a solid bar scene and very fresh I sea fare. The other great surprise is the cheese burger, it ranks in the top three in the City. Did I mention the view....one of the best on the water in San Francisco."

"This place just keeps getting better with each new incarnation, while retaining the authentic funkiness of its gritty port location. Views of the Bay, the Oakland Hills, and marine life coexist with piers, dry docks, and massive ships, all seen from two decks right on the water. And the food has reached new heights. Fresh seafood, great cocktails, and an excellent hamburger are among the offerings. It's far better than it needs to be in this location!"

"We had booked a group of 10 for dinner on a Weds, night.The restaurant was not very crowded. Unfortunately the service was not attentive either due to understaffing or lack of mangement. It took an inordinate amount of time to get our server's atttention. I had a similar experience when I visited the restaurant for lunch with a group of 8 in December. I don't know if I will return."

"It's really sad to see a place with so much potential fall on it's face...great spot and really good food-where it really feel down is with the service. No one greeted us...we ended up seating ourselves and a random server took pity on us and took our order. The entire meal and the entire restaurant seemed kind of random. It was more like someone's house party rather than a place that serves the public.
I wont be going back soon..."

"We've been to Mission Rock Resort several times since the restaurant was redone on the inside and out, and the food continues to be wonderful, the outdoor seating on a warm day is gorgeous (with a view of two very large ships in drydock and Oakland in the distance across the bay)and the service is friendly, helpful and attentive. My husband ordered crispy fish and chips, I had the best BLT sandwich I'd eaten in a long time, and our daughter had a wonderful bowl of many different shell fish (shrimp, mussels and clams)in a delicious sauce. Go and enjoy!"

"On the water in Mission Bay, Mission Rock Resort is an amazing place for lunch or weekend brunch. Particularly with good weather, the outside back deck seating is an excellent venue and the food is worth the wait! The evening dinner menu is limited and probably a bit simple for a more demanding "foodie" but well-prepared and solid fare. Think of it as an extended bar or a limited bar and grill outing and a good time is to be had."

"Although it seemed to be a slow night, it seemed as though it would be a fun, energetic venue, especially in the summertime - 2 floors, 2 bars, a fireplace and and outdoor deck area. Participated in restaurant week; Cipianno was ok as was the Ceasar salad. Appreciated the substitution of a gluten-free option for dessert-never had butterscotch pots de creme and it was very good. Would have liked to see an actual gluten-free menu, though."

"We did Dine About Town and was disappointed no dessert was included. Food was good, but not great. Service erratic. Perhaps they needed another server at lunch. If the gentleman that was at the front was one of the owners, he should be going around to tables asking how things are. They are new owners and I think they need to pay more attention. Train servers to check in w/tables more frequently. We felt like we were always looking for her. No bread served until we asked, but others were delivered bread almost immediately. I would go back w/less expectation on a nice sunny day and sit outside."

"We enjoyed great cocktails and beer with a terrific seafood experience. Fresh raw oysters and clams, plus light and crisp fried calamari were winners for starters. Ceviche was a bit odd with minced seafood rather than bigger chunks. The cioppino was very tasty and one of us raved about the fish and chips. The shrimp louie salad was also a hit. The only thing to keep in mind is that you have to walk upstairs to find the dining area and bar - and there wasn't anyone there to greet you upstairs - but once we found the host we had a great evening. I'd like to come back in the summer when it's warmer and sit in the outdoor area looking out over the bay, ships, and other nautical sights."
