"If anyone has not eaten at 18 Steak, they are missing a genuinely wonderful place to dine. I have done lunch, dinner and most recently, brunch. All were well presented and well received. Not overly pursued on service but tken care of as the need arose.
I highly recommend 18 Steak as a great place to dine out and enjoy a delicious meal.

"I thought everything was great except the quality of my steake. It was not as tender as I was expecting and had a lot of gristle through-out the steak. To be honest I was dissappointed with the quality of the steaks. Had better steaks at the Hollywood Steak House. Gumbo and Crab Cakes was excellent."

"From the fresh flowers everywhere, the fixtures, and the fantastic service. This is a home run. The food speaks for itself. Nice portions and fantastic taste. Sometimes it is extremely hard for a restaurant to live up to the Louisiana taste & flair for food and drink but 18 Steak pulls it off easy and perfectly."

"Delightful dining experience! We dined before the evening rush, so the atmosphere was very pleasant! Looking out at the river was just beautiful! The service was great -- 2 servers took care of us. The food was absolutely delicious and creative. And don't skip dessert -- the cheesecake and strawberry shortcake were both exceptional!! Highly recommend!!!"

"The waiter forgot to order a drink for one person in our party. The kitchen forgot to make an appetizer for one person in our party. We had 3 people order steak and the tempature on 2 of the 3 were wrong. It appeared that the wait and the kitchen staff we stretched to thin."

"The atmosphere and décor of the restaurant were exceptional. The service was great!! The only concern I have is the price of the menu items. Most everyday folks could not afford the meal. For a restaurant to be successful, they need atmosphere, exceptional food for reasonable prices. We will go back only for a special dinner. It would not be a monthly visit. The quality of the food is not the issue. It is the prices."

"With the number of "high end" steakhouses in the city, one that is at a hotel/casino must go the extra miles to stand out. This restaurant has the advantage of built in entertainment nearby, but it has the disadvantage of distant parking and the drive to get there. Most of the other steakhouses are nearer with food that is equal or superior. The steaks are good, but be prepared for SLOW service. It took 45 minutes to get a cocktail and another 30 minutes to order. The drink prices are WAY too high for a casino restaurant. This was on a Tuesday night with a half empty restaurant. The staff is very nice, indeed, but not necessarily attentive. 18 Steak has a great deal of improvement to make before they are considered equal to others."

"My husband and I ate at the 18 Steakhouse for Mother's Day. We really enjoyed our dining experience. The food was delicious and the service from our waitress, Carly, was great! Our seating was out looking the Mississippi River and the décor of the restaurant was absolutely beautiful. I can definitely say we will be back to dine there many more times."

"Went for Mothers Day during typical Sunday Brunch menu.
The steaks were good. Garlic mashed potatoes are recommended.
What was not good:
1) Loaded baked potato: Dry, not hot, served with all toppings "on the side". If a loaded baked potato is ordered, provide it as such.
2) Marrow bone. Neat idea? the bone is a little too large to put on the plate with my steak, it got in the way and really, how many people actually enjoy this?
3) The server told me the "hot mashed dressing' on the house salad was not robustly flavored, but it tasted like the beginnings of a remoulade sauce with the flavor pulled out. Pretty poor.
4) Mini orange/cinnamon rolls as a bread service...poor decision (IMO), not good; fresh brread with butter???"

"After reading numerous reviews on OpenTable, I was somewhat skeptical about dining there but I was happily proved wrong.
The food...very good and very pricey. It's probably the most expensive place in Baton Rouge but worth a nice splurge.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and we will definitely be returning in the future to dine here. Service was attentive without being overbearing and I never once felt I had to ask for anything. Drinks were served promptly and water glasses were kept filled throughout the meal. The ambiance is great and it's nice to watch the river outside. Bring your appetite and your wallet because it's pricey but worth it."

"Booked tickets to a show and figured we could have a nice dinner before the show. We had a 630 reservation and sat just after 7. By the time we got our food it was 745, and the show started at 8. What was suppose to be a leisure dinner before the show ended up not being so leisure. However, the food was delicious, and will bring us back."

"The decor of the restaurant was so nicely done. The waitstaff went over and beyond without being intruding. Loved our waitress. The food in the other hand, left much to be desired. The steaks and the butter add ons were superb VERY good but everything else was just...eh. My husband and I ordered the crab cakes to share and didn't even eat half of it. Just not very good. We didn't even eat but one of their signature beignets? Not so good. In their defense maybe they had an off night because I have heard from several people how wonderful their food was. If you have a night to experiment and go with no expectations check them out for the decor alone. Might give it a try again."

"I expected the food to be better than it was. Salted beignets were served when we were seated. They bore no resemblance to what we know as beignets. The looked like donut holes that had been fried to a crisp. You picked up the salted taste but there was no soft center. Kind of like the bits of crust you get at the bottom of a bucket of fried chicken.
The filet of beef we ordered were probably the best any of us ever had. Thick, fork tender and done to perfection. But the vegetables were disappointing. The seared sugar snap peas showed no sign of searing. More likely steamed in the liquid they were served in. I'd be ready to try them again, the menu was very interesting."

"I have been to 18 Steak twice. First and last at the same time. The service was as bad as as I have ever had. We were two for dinner. When the entree arrived my steak arrived and the second plate, a grilled fish dish, arrived about five to seven minutes later. The waiter said he had to go and "get on the kitchen".
Our TWO servers would vanish for periods of time not to found. I guess I expected better form a place the says it has great service.
The food quality was OK. Nothing to make a special trip for. I will not be back.

Started with the seafood bisque... Very rich, very good. I get it with crab and shrimp only.
The ceasar salad is huge...dressing is more poly than creamy, not sure why it's this big... 4 pple could share this.
Scallops were good not great, a little fishy but that's the exception not the norm. Very nice presentation. The suprise of the meal is the semolina pancake with cane syrup...
French press coffee always excellent."

"Great! Took my elderly parents for my Moms 80th bday. Asked for a booth, which we got, with a fabulous view of the river. Service was good, kind if over attentive at times, then when you wanted one nowhere to be found. Food was fabulous. The seafood tower is to die for. My filet was perfect. The bernaise sauce the best I've ever had. My mother had the scallops- perfect. My dad was not enamoured with his Waygu flat iron steak. Cappuccinos were perfect. Merlot was good. Bill came to $285 without tip. I'd go back in a minute, although I still think French Market Bistro & Jubans are still my favorites."

"Staff was outstanding. Very professional, but out going as well. The tomato and mozzarello salad was very tasteful. The maque choux was mouth watering with wonderful flavors. I had the filet mignon while my wife enjoyed the louisiana wagyu flat iron. Both were cooked to our preference and was delicious. "Christopher, my waiter, was especially nice. My steak may not have been a prime cut, choice probably. The steak was good, but at those prices, prime is best.
The fried pickles on my Caprices salad smelled of "bacon" and were kind of greasy. The heirloom tomatoes were a nice touch.
My champagne cocktail was very tasty.
All in all it was a wonderful evening."

"While the food was amazing and our server Mark was very friendly and exceptional at his job, the music playing through the sound system did not fit the environment (hip/hop, alternative, country, etc). Jazz, slow contemporary or something along those lines and a played a little bit lower volume level would have been nice. Also, a lot of the wait staff was huddled around the entrance to the bar and talking rather loudly.
Overall, we still had a great experience and will be back!"

"Really, I am not a complainer. However I found the food really sub-par at best. I had a boneless ribeye ordered medium rare. It did not even have a drop of juice in my plate. Besides being dry, it was not a tender cut of meat. I thouhgt it would be served sizziling in my plate, but it was barely warm."

"My only complaint is that we made reservations for 9:00 p.m. and we weren't seated until 9:40 p.m. I understand that it was was an extremely busy night for the casino and restaurant and these things happen. Our waitress did such an exemplary job, I forgot about the wait. I frequently eat at top rated steak houses all over the country and I had the best service ever that I've ever had from our waitress. She was very accomodating to my wife's diet and very enthusiasctic and knowlegdeable about vegetarian options for her. Our waitress' name is Carly, she was really, truly amazing.

"If you're looking for a good steak and decent service - look elsewhere!! The food, every bit of it from the appetizer to the main course, was salty. Supposedly its a result of the sea salt reacting with the wood firing cooking process. You would think they would learn how to manage all that sodium. The party i was with had several different entrees, and they were all excessively salty. Again, I can't express how salty the food was. Next was the service: the servers reached over people, couldn't deliver the orders to the right person, & they did a terrible job keeping drinks full. I guess we should have known better. For a Friday night, the restaurant was pretty empty. Save your the time & hassle, any other steakhouse is better than"

"I was terribly disappointed. I ordered the steak flight (3 small steaks). The ribeye was so salty it was inedible. The strip steak's marinade was overpowering. The NY strip was good, but not great. When I drop 70 bucks for an entree', I expect it to be great. It want even close. I'll never go back."

"Evening started out nice, with a great bottle of wine and picture view. Complimentary "bread",delicious. Barbq shrimp, different than ur usual shrimp, but still good. Everything after that not good. Service bad. Sat through entire entre without seeing a waiter and had run out of wine before that. Told the helper that brought the food, but still never saw a waiter. One steak good, the other over cooked and sent back. Sweet potatoes dry, not eaten. Even the bread pudding was dry. Would not recommend after that outing. No apologies given!"
