"Enjoyed dinner at Salt's Cure with a friend. Wait staff was friendly and helpful, and the place was lively with 30 somethings. Food was quite tasty and portions were large. The ventilation system in the restaurant was not working well however, and there was so much smoke in this tiny space that I was glad to be sitting near the door."

"This is a tiny place with seasonal, local food. The menu is limited, but the vegetables are from the farmers markets and the meats are from small fars in California. The leg of lamb with English peas, sugar snap peas and pea vines was the best leg of lamb I have ever eaten. It was perfect in every way. Their draft IPA, Black Market was great. I also loved the salad with mixed greens, avocado and blood oranges."

"It was a good restaurant. We were late and totally understand that they have to turn tables. They asked us to be sure we were out by 8pm. However, they then took forever to come to our table and take our order. It made us feel a little uncomfortable."

"I've now been twice, this is some of the best food in the city right now. Simple, unadorned, amazing dishes. And while they have vegetarian dishes that are terrific, this is an amazing place to get roasted and grilled meats. It's wonderful."

"This is a great meal, made with integrity and passion for food and cooking, served with enthusiasm and warmth that is absolutely delicious in a perfect balance of atavistic (it's all about the meat) and refined (everything is made in house and by hand). Which is not to say that the salads and sides are anything less than delicious as are the house-made pates and cured meats. I suspect that they do wonderful things with chicken and fish as well, but I came for the Berkshire bone-in pork chop and my wife ordered the braised pork shank and we were very, very satisfied. Small but thoughtful California wine list, one well-chosen draft ipa and a few craft beer bottles. Would have liked a cider with the pork. Go here with an appetite."

"ordered 5 dishes and of those five, 2 were good, 2 were just ok, and the last was not worth it. Overall the food is Ok, but the service is incredibly annoying. Our waitress was extremely pushy and kept making us order items even when we asked her to give us time, while the server kept trying to take our dishes even when we were not done with our food. It was constant, like the way they refill your water after a couple of sips. I felt extremely uncomfortable and overwhelmed by the staff, and underwhelmed by the food. The only two menu items I would recommend are the swordfish and the soft pretzel."

"I just loved everything about this place. I went on a Monday night. It wasn't so busy. It wasn't so noisy. The space is small and intimate. The service is friendly and on point. The dishes were nicely done and the desserts were A-mazing!"

"It's places like Salt's Cure that give Los Angeles soul. The food is simply good, AND unique! The atmosphere completes the experience, as you sit in the comfort of the low-key neighborhood, and feel the buzz of the whole staff from kitchen to table. You sense the people's love of their craft, and the earnest intention of sharing it with other people. When you're distracted by another seductive city such as Manhattan, a rare place like Salt's Cure tugs you back to Los Angeles."

"Although this place is known for its meats, I would say the sirloin steak I had for dinner was very good, but not fantastic. On the other hand, the frites were out of this world, and so were the pickles and pretzel. Service was very good, and the place overall is lovely to be in."

"The half chicken may be the best roast chicken in Los Angeles: the skin is crisp, the meat is moist and tastes of chicken and the sauce is bursting with flavor. We would not have ordered it if Ben, our waiter, hadn't insisted. Kudos and thanks to all."

"Fresh ingredients, a slightly limited menu but, that shouldn't really get in the way. The pork chop is delicious! The grapefruit, avocado salad also incredibly good for something so simple. Last but not least, the grapefruit cheesecake is a MUST! (this is coming from someone who is not the biggest the grapefruit fan)"

"The food was very good, the experience/service could have made it better. Just a suggestion, next time someone walks into your empty restaurant WITH a reservation don't give them the crappiest table and tell them you have no room. I really didn't need to have the server reach over my friend's head to adjust the light switch, or have the other server's rear rub against my shoulder when she was using the computer, or have yet another server eavesdrop into our conservation and interrupt us because she was SO interested. Especially when I asked could we be moved and the server points out the then empty restaurant and tells me there no room??? Uummm...yeah, that's why I made the reservation...I know that it's a small place."

"This is my second time at Salt's Cure, and once again, it knocks the ball out of the park! The menu changes daily (though I think they always have the burger, which is a MUST). I sit at the bar where I can watch the food being prepared. I say prepared instead of cooked, because the owner/chef is truly "preparing" the dishes! Watching him pay such rapt attention to cutting the flank steak before placing it on the plate, or making sure the marlin or smoked escolar sit "just so" on the plate is truly something to behold, but then, when you taste it...oh man!"

"Our starter , the roasted asparagus, pecorino cheese and aged cured ham salad was the tastiest dish of our meal. The main courses were a disappointment, with the chicken dry and not too flavorful; the marlin was tough, not tasty and accompanied by overly oiled greens. A side of black kale was uninspired as well. The chocolate pudding was fantastic, and much needed after the bland meal."

"The food is truly exceptional. The wine list is quite impressive, but pricey. The wines we had were excellent. Service is very good (although I must say at 5:30 we were almost the only ones in the place.) The only drawback I see is the noise level. It would probably not bother most people, but those with hearing problems will find it difficult, as I did (I am hard of hearing.)"

"Went two nights ago and have to say I enjoyed the best meal I have had since moving to LA 12 yrs ago! I ordered a NY strip , a grass fed, dry aged piece of "butter". Amazing. My girl ordered the seared albacore tuna which came on a bed of a apple, cucumber type of slaw. It was delicious! We also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts that were absolutely mouthwatering. I think the simplicity of the food, couple with the ambiance is what made the meal so outstanding. This is not your average farm to table restaurant. This is indeed a neighborhood gem for foodies!
For dessert, we order the grapefruit pie ( think key lime, but substitute grapefruit). The best dessert I have had in recent memory as well!go to Salts Cure!"

"It is very unusual for my family to have a meal where everyone is satisfied. Four of us ate at Salt's Cure. The service was quite good and the people very friendly. But best of all was the food. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The short ribs melted off the bone, the snapper was fresh and the English peas it was served on was different and delicious. The pork chop was huge and the most tender and juicy any of us had ever tasted. The citrus and avocado salad was also great and the dressing not overdone and still tasty. The only thing we missed was being able to end the meal with coffee as we all drink decalf and they did not have that....maybe I will bring my own as the food was so terrific we all want to go back."

"This restaurant was everything as it was billed. Since all their food is sourced locally you run the risk of them running out of things. Which unfortunately they did for our late in the day reservation. So if you want to make sure they don't run out of menu items that are decided that day then make sure your reservation is earlier in the day."

"I liked it. It has a small menu and was out of my selection so I was forced To get a main course I really was not in the mood for. Their wine selections Were not so great. They only had two red wines by the glass and the one I choose tasted like a fruit sangria. And, true to its name, the food was Salty. I'm sure my blood pressure went up a few ticks that night. But it is a very popular Place with a very attractive crowd. I'm going to try it again (although my Wife won't come with me)."

"Brilliant as usual. I really enjoy sitting at the counter and watching these guys do their thing. The menu is brief but everything is spectacular. This place is truly about the food and quality ingredients - not style or pretense, just all about the stuff on the plate!"

"I have enjoyed Salt's Cure for a quick lunch, but they are far less successful at dinnertime. The menu is very limited and once you move into the realm of dinner dishes, simply having well butchered meat is not enough. The dishes are bland with very little complexity or flavor nuance. The pork shoulder special tries to be interesting but came out watery and shockingly under seasoned for a dish with so many components. The chef's selection of cured meats was surprisingly pedestrian, and they really should include the bread and not charge another 2 bucks for two small hunks of grilled bread. Presenting a board of meat with a few pita crackers and then charging for bread is simply poor form. This is a lunch/burger place and no more."
