When I first Opened I MONELLI my intention was to share the cooking style, flavors & recipes that originated from my hometown.
Our ingredients are always FRESH to achieve the best taste, just as my mother used to back home. By using SIMPLE & FRESH ingredients, I prepare various specials every week from salads to main entrees that are not found on the menu.
To me, it’s all about the TASTE & QUALITY! Since we can't take you back to Italy, I have brought these dishes here to share with you.

"There were five of us so we sampled a good number of menu items. By far the favorite was the all cheese pizza, and especially the thin, crispy pizza crust. An appetizer of stuffed portabella was impressive in size and flavor as were the two salads - one with beets, candied walnuts and gorgonzola, and the other the house. Both were large enough to share. A linguini dish with shrimp in a cream sauce was good, but not as good as the pizza, nor was the spaghetti and meatballs. The orecchette con spinaci was a hit. Servings were generous enough that we brought home leftovers, and that without having to empty our wallets. I should add that our waiter added a great deal to our visit. He - and the pizza - are worth a return visit."

"My boyfriend saw this place while driving down Western Avenue a few years ago when I moved into West Ridge and we went for lunch. We loved the place so much, that for the next two years we went at least once a month. We're now living in Hyde Park so there are fewer trips but we really miss I Monelli. The food is fresh and the staff is amazing. I wish that I could eat here every day!"

"We visit I Monelli several times each month. It is a family operated place with the Head Chef, "Vitorio" running the kitchen along with his cousins/ brother and others. His father and neice take care of the dining room and the rest of the staff including "Manuel and Nathan" take care of the customers. The menu changes almost daily with always fresh items. I definitely enjoy the ambiance and the friendly atmosphere. On top of everything else, it's a BYOB place. Can't beat it !"

"Ridiculously, ridiculously good food for what on the outside looks like "just a pizza joint." Everything we had was seriously outstanding & flavorful. Now I've just got to go back and try the pizza!"

"I love the food at I Monelli and they are BYOB so that's great, esp for groups. We had a great time there on Sat but for one incident. The waiter spilled 2 glasses of champagne all over my friend. Accidents happen, he apologized and we got over it for the most part but he should have comped a dessert or something since we were out the drinks and my friend had to sit in wet pants the rest of the night..."
