"This was only our second time returning because of the fantastic food, which didn't disappoint after high expectations from our first visit. The menu is perfectly sized with various options for both starter and main, however the pulled Duck Quesadilla for a starter is amazing and would recommend you try it. And with different choices for main such as Steak or Fish dishes we chose Steak, which was a great choice both the Fillet Mignon and New York strip were perfectly cooked. Complements to the Chef and our server Karl who was both attentive with service and detail but knowledgeable about the menu. We would recommend this to everyone to try for yourselves."

"I took my mother and dad to the Lobby on York for Mother's Day, as they had never been and I have been there a lot. The service was great as always. We started with some appetizers; Pulled Duck Quesadilla and The Crab Cakes, which are two of my favourites. The mango chutney for the crab cakes is divine.
For dinner we all had different things. I had my usual signature steak the Fillet Mignon, while my dad had the New York Strip. My mother had the Pickerel. Everyone devoured their meals and my parents were raving about their first experience at the restaurant that is a little hard to find for people not in the know. That is not exactly a bad thing, as it gives people like me the chance to share this gem with others."

"Excellent food and service every time I visit, the one thing which I really enjoyed going to the Lobby for was the Pecan Butter Mashed Sweet Potatoes, unfortunately this item is no longer on the menu but there's still a lot of tasty dishes to choose from.. you will not be disappointed with choosing the Lobby for lunch or dinner."

"My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time. At first, the servers seemed a bit stand-offish but by the end of the dinner the server was gracious, charismatic, and very kind. I thought we waiting maybe a couple minutes too long for drinks but it was a Friday night and the lounge was full. The drinks were made perfectly. The food came at the perfect times, waiting time wasn't too long for it. And when the food did arrive it was amazing. The half rack of lamb with the mint tamirand sauce is probably the best lamb I've ever tasted. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. The dessert, was divine! I definitely think people should take a night off and go to this restaurant. You leave feeling like you're floating on a cloud."

"The service was great. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable. My wife and I were very impressed with the service and will be returning every time we get a chance to go out. We have already recommended your restaurant to many couples. We had the crab cakes, rack of lamb and the portabello rib steak. This is what we almost always order when going out. We have been to all the nice steak places in the city, and nothing compares. Service and food beyond any others in Winnipeg.

"Everything we ordered was excellent. We had the beet salad to start, which was light and delightful. We then had the Tuna Tartare which was the best appetizer my partner nad I had ever tasted. We then ordered the 10 ounce Peppercorn New York Striploin with Lobster and with Prawns. We asked that the Brocollini appetizer come with our meal. Everything was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the Chocolate torte with caramel gelato. The waitress was on par and the bartender made our drinks perfectly. The price of our wine at $15.00 a glass was slightly high, but we were very aware of the prices of the beverages. All in all we had a great experience at Lobby on York and would return for another special occasion."

"We enjoyed our evening very much. The food was absolutely wonderful - please NEVER take those oysters off your menu !! SOOOO delicious.
The caesar salad was one of the very best I've had, and the steaks were tender and done perfectly. The waiter was very helpful with a fun sense of humour which we enjoyed. The desserts ( creme brule & pecan pie) were also fantastic - I NEVER order dessert but everything else was so good I couldn't resist.

"The appetizer we had were the short ribs and they were salty but very good. The steaks were not good. My husband had the peppercorn and he was less than impressed. He compared it to the Keg and the Keg was way better. I had the filet mingnon and I ordered it medium and it was blue rare. I sent it back and by the time I received it back, it was medium well and my husband was already done his meal.
In spite of the appy being overly salty, our steaks were not very flavourful.Cesar salads and bread were good. Wine list and beer list was good. I was disappointed because I enjoyed the atmosphere and being able to dress up and go out for my anniversary but the meal was disappointing. I would go back for drinks and apps but never a meal"

"I had one of the finest steaks ever here; a bone in rib that was cooked to perfection. My date really enjoyed the lamb; it was cooked excellently too. The service was great and friendly; the prices reasonable for this category of restaurant and overall I will be back! My only minor copmplaint(s) was the bar noise drifting into the restaurant and the circular setting which is only romantic IF the restaurant is'nt full. The circular setting tends to have clients half facing the next table once the restaurant fills up. But overall I was very pleased with our experience and will recommend it to those interested in a great steak house. thanks"

"Underwhelmed. We chose not to drink but the waiter kept pushing booze on us. The staff all walked around like they didn't want to be there. That kind of attitude is contagious. There is also a very small variety of cuts - I wanted a ribeye and there was only a bone in option that was big enough for two people -16oz."

"I was extremely impressed with the service we received. Our waiters were both friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and patiently answered all of our questions about the menu as it was our first time there. "My wife and I visited Lobby on York for an anniversary dinner. Having moved to Canada from Australia three years ago we were very excited to learn that the native Australian fish "Barramundi" was on the menu as a special that night.
Considering were we are located, I wasn't expecting much however the Barra was cooked to perfection!
Great food, great company and to top it off an Aussie waiter!"

"the food was excellent however it appeared that the server was far too overworked. She did her best to provide good service however she was far to overwhelmed with the number of tables she had to manage. The noise level in the restaurant was overwhelming."

"The food was really good, very tasty and hot. My only issue would be with portion size. I felt that it could have been a bit bigger. I was there for lunch so I wasn't ordering an appetizer or anything else, so I would have liked a little bit more to eat."
