"Food was delicious & service was wonderful - with a smile! We had a Groupon and were treated like any other customer. Portions were large - I took half of my Black Linguini with Shrimp home. Tiramisu was to excellent - one of the best I have ever had! Groupon was definitely worth it & we will be back!!"

"We love this neighborhood place. Excellent, generous portions of wonderful food in a warm, energetic setting. Knowledgable, attentive waitstaff. Great bartender sets the tone as soon as you enter. The black linguine is amazing and the cioppino full of wonderful seafood. The grilled calamari makes for a very nice start. It doesn't pretend to be something it's not. It's just really good food, a reasonable price, and an overall enjoyable experience."

"The sum is better than the parts at Cucia di Pesce. The food is good, plain, traditional. The service old fashioned but friendly. The room (there are several, we were in the back room) was reminiscent of the Itial Social Club that was nice in this space. Put it all together, it was a very nice pre-theater experience."

We had a member of our party delayed and the staff was superb about allaying our fears about not having seating. It ended up almost an hour past our reservation, and they seated us immediately - as promised. And we made our show on time!! "I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend for a date. It's an overall great place, the waiters were friendly and very attentive. One negative thing was that the tables were spaced close together. "I try to see every production at the fabulous New York Theatre Workshop, and this restaurant, right next door, is usually my first choice for a pre-theatre meal. I've never been disappointed; the $14 early bird special is a great value, including soup & salad, choice of entrees and a glass of wine. This is not fine dining (which I don't expect at these moderate prices) but is a neighborhood place. I enjoy bringing out of town guests here. The tables are not as close together as most restaurants and even on a crowded night we are able to hear our conversations easily. I miss Bonafides, another nearby fave, but am happy that Cucina di Pesce is still here, near the wonderful New York Theatre Workshop, La Mama and other theaters."

"The place has really gone downhill. The bruschetta did not seem fresh, we were told the soup of the day was lentil and then brought a watered-down split pea soup, and after ordering the fish of the day, had salmon substituted at the last minute. My son's salmon was very undercooked. And the side pasta with garlic and oil had almost no garlic flavor. We were there a few months ago and it was fine. It is close to the New York Theater Workshop, so it was a place we liked to go. Not any more."

"I had a 14 person group and they didn't mind. Everything came out in a timely manner, and it wasn't overly crowded, even on a Saturday night. Everyone was really happy, and they sang happy birthday to me!"

"Disappointed with their Valentine's Day dinner. Food was average at best, they ran out of a few items and the service was spotty. At the end of the meal I found out it was cash or Amex only, making me choose between running home to get cash (no ATM card with me) and leaving my date there alone or asking my date for money.
Needless to say I'd rather starve than come back here."

"Let me say as a seafood lover, this was the place to go! The waiter was very kind to my boyfriend and I and was extremely entertaining. He made our dining experience that much better. The mussels, however minuscule were very tasty and the broth was so good we just wanted to slurp it all up. My boyfriend was also challenged to finish something on the menu that was large in portions and as a reward, the waiter treated us both to a shot of some mysterious Russian drink. I had black linguine with probably the best tasting vodka sauce. It was savory and nothing was over done. I can say I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant. All the pastas are affordable and delicious."
