"It's as good as your will find on the island, but if it were on the mainland it would be just average. It's not a fancy steakhouse. It's on Sanibel which means old outdated island decoration. The service was really good and food was good overall but not on par with Ruth Chris or Morton's. If you have ever been to one of the fancy steakhouses on a cruise ships, it's more on that level."

"My only complaint about our dinner was we were seated very close (less than 24 inches) from the next table. The woman was talking very loud and showing photos to others at the table. Fortunately, they left and more considerate folks were seated.

"It has been 10 years since we were last here, but not much has changed (which is good).
Although we were 30 minutes late (traffic)on a busy night, they were able to promptly get us a decent table. The server was unfailingly polite and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our steaks (filet mignon & NY Strip) and starters (Ceasar Salad & Chicken Noodle Soup)as well as the wines. The mashed potatos were heavily pureed and seasoned, which drew a mixed review at our table. Overall, though the food was worth the price.
Ambiance was a little dark/dated, which stands out on Sanibel. Important to note: We brought a four year old child and everyone was very welcoming and accommodating. That made for a far more enjoyable experience. We'll be b"

"I have been going to Sanibel for over 30 years and had never tried the Steakhouse so I was kind of excited to try a new place. The menu is good. Prime steaks. Unfortunenately everything was bland. My steak had no flavor or seasoning. My lobster bisque was ok, but many better prepared bisque on the island (ie Thistle Lodge). Also carrots and brocolli for a vegetable side I feel is outdated. The best prepared item was the garlic mash potatoes. Finally something with seasoning.
Dessert was also very average. Key lime pie was the worst on the island and the chocalate lava cake had no lava.
The menu is pricey as well is the wine list. I expected better food. I will not go back."

"We were disappointed. We were ushered into the back room, a plain room with little evidence of updating in many years. NYNY was playing on the sound system, which was a bit dated, but fine. Our waiter was friendly. I think we made 2 mistakes, one was going for the $35, early bird 3 course special. We were the only ones in the restaurant for the special. The caesar salad wasn't too good. The wedge salad was better. The filet mignon was small but tasty. The 2nd was ordering seafood at a steakhouse. The salmon was small and seemed like it had been frozen. The mushroom risotto was pretty good. The creme brulee was a large serving and was very good. The chocolate cheesecake was so-so. We won't return. Sorry. It just wasn't as expected."
