Topo's 403 serves a fresh greek and mediterranean inspired menu of mezedes, salads, soups, entrees, and desserts. Housed in a beautifully restored 1870s townhouse, the atmosphere lends a lively yet intimate vibe throughout the dining rooms, full bar service, and large outdoor patio. Private dining and special event spaces available as well.
"This would have been a second visit to Topo's, much anticipated because the first time was great! Unfortunately, on graduation weekend, without informing the guests in advance there was a VERY limited set menu (4 items) with no substitutions at all and at a price almost twice normal. The manager was nice enough but was ineffective at "convincing" the chef to accommodate us in any way. Avoid on special weekends or check about whether that kind of stunt is planned!"

"Greek Easter at Topo's 403 was fun! The food selection was great. Everything was delicious. The servers were attentive and friendly. The music was lively. The restaurant is elegant."

"The quality of service made this meal. As soon as we entered everyone from the hostess, to our waiter and the floor manager made sure we had everything we wanted without seeming hovering. The food was wonderful from first course to last and I couldn't have asked for much better. Finally the drinks were among the bets I have had in Bloomington I highly recommend ordering off their specialty cocktail list you wont be disappointed."

"The patio dining on a beautiful evening with my group of coworkers was great. The appetizers were delicious and we shared a little of most of the entrees and they were all good. The desert that is like donuts wholes(I can't remember the name) dipped in the Carmel sauce was out of this world.Demetri our server was on top of everything from the get go. Drinks were refreshed quickly and items wwere cleared quickly while the next items arrived. The prices were great for the quality of dining experience provided"

"Waiter overbearing, but moderated as service progressed. Whole waitstaff atmosphere was more TGIF's than a fine dining restaurant. Menus were soiled. So gross. Waitstaff handled water glasses with hands where one drinks. So gross. Food was thoughtful and well-prepared. No complaints. Dining room clean. Music went through about 100 genres and was weird for dinner."

"We have always liked the food here very much, but on our past visits we have had very slow and somewhat inattentive service. This time we had Micah for our server, and he was great, along with the food and wine he recommended. We will ask for him when we return. Two continuing problems keep us from rating this place as outstanding on this visit: it is very cold--we had AC coming out of a vent under us even though it was very cool outdoors, and the tables are too close together for the comfort of patrons and servers."

"Topos 403 was just ok for me. The waiter, Demetri, was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The rest of the help didn't smile and seemed disinterested. More importantly, the food is pricey and not that great. Greek food is given a different twist but leaves one wanting the original version. Hummus is served with thick bread and not pita, lemon soup has fried rice balls instead of rice that cause a greasy residue. Main entrees are ok, not that great. If you are looking for great Greek food, this is not your place. If you like "gourmet" dining and like to experiment with quirky menus, this is your place."

"Exceptional service! Staff very warm and helpful, more like going to someone's house for a meal... loved the atmosphere. The food is very good and the portions adequate. My friend and I shared a couple of appetizers, the Mussels/Pita and Spanakopita, both very good. The 2 entrees, Moussaka and Sriama, were thoroughly enjoyed too. Went to a play around the corner and came back for dessert. Will definitely be repeat diners."

"Tim, our waiter, was extremely professional, knowledgeable, helpful and down to earth. He told us about the upstairs banquet facilities and porch dining overlooking downtown. Looking forward to a summer evening there!"

"Food excellent and priced appropriately, restoration/decor of Topolgus building elegantly chic, very friendly and accommodating wait-staff, my only negative feedback is the table where we were seated was exactly the opposite of my requested "most romantic table" (we were seated behind the main entrance and were constantly being passed by staff & patrons nearly hitting our table, this chaos takes away from a dining experience that is intended to be intimate, I'd like to try again!"

"The menu is good and the location is great for before performances downtown, so we decided to give this place another try before a play after a disappointing experience a few months ago. Our food was terrific, but our service was VERY SLOW. We arrived at 5:15 p.m. and had trouble getting out by 7:15 p.m. for a play even though there were very few people there for some time after we arrived. In the winter, the dining area is freezing cold. I know the restaurant is in an old house, but they need to work harder to keep patrons warm. Another problem is that they have put too many tables too close together, which makes things too noisy and also makes it hard for both waiters and patrons to move around."

"Bitter cold day in Bloomington and here for just 2 day, but dining at Topo's 403 made my wife's birthday special. Drinks, appetizer's, entree's, dessert and wine and the service were excellent. There's lot's of competition on North Walnut Street in Bloomington, but Topo's is an excellent choice."

"Awful food. Salty salad. Weird "Greek spaghetti." Cocktail was grotesque. Service was good & ambiance nice, but with food this bad...something needs to change."

"Good food, very nice setting. Renovation was done well. The "new" bottle of wine the server was pushing (and wasn't on the menu yet) was considerably pricier than everything else. Would have been nice to know before I got the bill. Other than that, very good experience. Good food, and not so expensive that it has to be a special occasion. Will go back."
