"I came to Winston to celebrate Mother's day with my mom. I was a little disappointed with the brunch menu as it was a bit limited. We were given the option to sit at the bar while we waited on our table. The reason I made reservations was so we didn't have to wait on a table, but no big deal. We went to the bar and the tender was fairly aloof. There was one other person seated at the bar, but the tender didn't offer us a wine list and didn't make eye contact with us until we asked for what we wanted. Then we waited. She didn't have our drinks made before we were seated. Our waiter was nice, but very nonchalant-not what we expected from a 'nice restaurant'.The food was great and the atmosphere was ok. I would go again with lower expectations."

"This was not our first (2nd, 3rd or 4th) visit to Jeffrey Adams. In fact, it is my husband and I's favorite place to dine. We decided to invite another couple to join us for dinner and drinks.
The night was wonderful. The service was stellar. The food was exquisite, as it always it always is and our drinks were wonderful. This place never disappoints. It was pouring rain and we would've never known it. We were engulfed in the atmosphere and enjoyed every second of our time there.
Once again kudos to the chef and the staff. We will continue to not only patronize, but share with our friends!

"Everyone enjoyed their food and my short ribs were amazing. The only downside on the food was the red velvet cake. It was dry, the icing was too sweet and the chocolate syrup tasted like Hershey' s syrup and really detracted, so skip that choice. The decor is nice but it was really noisy, we had to shout to hear each other. We thought it was because of prom but they were actually quiet and well behaved. It was the large groups of adults that caused the most noise. It would be better if they separated theses groups to another part of the restaurant. Service was a little rushed as well."

"Our first visit to Jeffrey Adams and we found the service and entrees were above par. We had the salmon, pork chop and filet in our group of four diners. Each entree was prepared properly and very good. We found the pricing for appetizers and entrees were very reasonable.
We also sampled quite a few of their specialty martinis and the Fountain of Youth was our favorite.
We will definitely dine here again."

"I've eaten here four times and I didn't want to pass judgement on the first time, but that ends today. The food is mediocre at best. The menu has quite a few hits and misses. This visit, my sirloin steak was tasteless (NO salt or pepper at all) and I was forced to upgrade to a ribeye to get some flavor and then it was incredibly over-seasoned. I understand compensating for the faux pas, but it was more condescending than anything. If the service is stellar, the food is not. If the food is up-to-par, the service is lacking. The atmosphere is puzzling: is it upscale or not? The servers, clad in their JA t-shirts speak "casual" but the menu prices and the descriptions promising upscale fare speak differently."

"Seafood risotto and short ribs were very good. As were our drinks. Service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Saturday night. We will certainly eat here again."

"All the food was delicious, the only complaint would be more variety--so much of the menu was taken up by steaks. As for the service, our waitress was attentive--TOO attentive. I think she asked if everything was alright literally every time she walked by. I would say it's fine to ask when you are bringing food and drink to the table and maybe one other occasion, because if I need something I will flag you down. I don't need you interrupting my conversation with my party to ask useless questions."

"Our dining experience was very good in terms of the high quality of service, the menu selection and quality of the food. We were, however, seated at a table next to a large and very loud group for the evening making conversation very difficult. I wondered why we were seated there when there were ample number of tables in the quieter space below. We should have protested, but did not."

"We had a reservation on Saturday evening and arrived on-time. We were sat at a small table for 2 near the front of the restuarant by the hostess. We sat at our table for 20 minutes and noone ever came over to greet us. We had multiple servers walk past us without acknowledgement and as we sat there we observed the 4 people at the hostess stand doing very little. It would have been nice if the hostess had let our server know the table was sat. As I left I let them know I was very disappointed and they didn't really seem to care at all. Cant' comment on the food, but the stain on my menu looked like it may have tasted ok a few weeks ago."

"Many people write reviews to discourage people from trying a new restaurant out. I merely want management to read this and take appropriate action. First, the hostess didn't personally seat us, we were told to follow a party of six upstairs and they would find us a place to sit. Didn't really like that. Plus our server, who I believe was Zach, wasn't on his game. I asked about wine and he didn't go over or recommend any, just showed me where I could find them. I asked to have no fried artichoke on my caesar salad and he said I could take them off or try them once the salad came. My steak didn't come with all my sides and he threw the kitchen under the bus. This was our Valentine's dinner and ended up going to Mayberry's for dessert."

"Very nice restaurant with a great view of the city from the second floor. The food was great and the service was very good! We did have to wait almost 15 minutes even though we had a reservation, but we were able to get a drink at the bar while we waited."

"My wife and I had a wonderful evening with another couple at JA. The food was very good for the Winston-Salem area. Our server was wonderful and provided us excellent service. My only complaints would be it took us 45 minutes to get a table after our reservation time. Also the bartender wasn't very friendly after they found out we were waiting on a table and not ordering food."

"Great place for Valentine's Day and we've made plans to go back soon. I didn't actually notice the noise---so it was just right. Great views from our seat beside the upstairs windows. We saw several groups of 4-6 people. Delicious, delicious food! Especially enjoyed the crab dip and the seafood rissoto. $5 martinis on Thursday were great!"

"This is my new downtown favorite! The food id amazing, only matched by the service. My husband and I went for Valentine's Day dinner and even though it was our 3rd time there, we were still thrilled. The menu is diverse. The ambiance is sweet, calming and romantic. It was our best Valentine's Day ever (and we've been together for 21 years)!"

"We decided to try Jeffrey Adams for the first time on Valentines Day and thoroughly enjoyed our experience! The service was excellent! The food was really great, probably one of the best steaks I have ever had! The ribeye was cook perfectly with awesome flavor! It was as tender as cutting soft butter! My wife enjoyed the Smoked Gouda Mac-N-Cheese! Great food!"

"My husband and I went to Jeffrey Adams for Valentine's day. This was our first visit. It was nice. Good decor. However, our seating was horrible. We were seated upstairs on an interior wall - 4 tablesfor 2,lined in a row, no more than a foot between each table. NO privacy. We could easily hear others conversations. It was obvious we were all uncomfortable by this closeness in seating. We might as well have been sitting at the same table. The waiter was very nice, and appologized, stated they were trying to accommodate as many couples as they could for Valentine's day. My dinner was wonderful, lobster and flounder picatta. My husbands salmon fine, but nothing spectacular. If we had window seat, whole experience would have been better!"

"Very nice restaurant overall. The food and service was great. The only negative was that we were seating very close to the door where we experienced a lot of cold drafts from outside as well as a group of people surrounding us while they waited to be seated. We would go back, but would make sure to be seated elsewhere."

"Great find! In the heart of downtown, and nice cityscape atmosphere with many windows open on the downtown pedestrian scene. We were a party of four and all had different entrees including fish, chicken, beef and pork, and all were very very good. I reserve 5 stars for truly world class dining experiences, but for a local dinner out I have to say the menu was quite varied, reasonably priced, very well prepared and served, and with great flavor. This is a wonderful addition to the downtown dining scene and we have already recommended it to several friends and will be going back soon."

"We went to J.A. Sat. night for our anniversary. made a reservation through open table. In the comment section put wanted a romantic table. J.A. didn't disappoint. When we arrived they're was a large line starting to gather so I figured even with the reservation we'd have to wait. Not so, we were taken right away to the upstairs at a cozy little table beside a window overlooking the Steven's Center. The waiter came and also didn't disappoint. Very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was excellent. Never had a ceasar salad with fried artichoke, it was awesome. My wife had chicken Marsala (which was tender and tasted like steak) I had bourbon shorts ribs which were excellent. Very good dining experience, yes we'll be back"

"Positives: Food reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere. Chicken wrap great value, loaded with grilled chicken, huge.
Negatives: Our server knew nada about wine, junior filet mignon was disappointing to friends, (cut horizontally, thin, not cut as a filet. Didn't try but they were not happy.) Wine list, IMHO, unimpressive and over-priced.
We'd go back (was a Ladies' Nigh Out). But not a "must go" for food. But rather we enjoyed the whole experience of being downtown in a sorta hip environment."
