"I don't know... called me old fashioned but if I pay a decent price for a meal I kind of want that meal to take time. This is not a knock on the food or the service or anything else. The food, drinks, service and decor at Laurel Hardware is great is all great. My issue is more with a choice that they make to serve things 'family style,' i.e. everything comes out when it's ready as opposed to being held back to allow for some kind of course structure. I guess that's great when you're dining with a big group, but when you go there for a dinner with your girl/boy/whatever it makes for kind of a rushed experience. We struggled to drag (what would usually be) a three course meal out past an hour."

"I originally read about this place on Tasting Table and then on a blog and had to try it the next time i was there. The outside is kind of deceiving, because it looked small and kind of empty. Then again it opens up to this HUGE vibrant space in the back with all types of seating. Wish the outside wasnt full - because it looked beautiful out there too :)!
Will most definitely come back when im on my next vacay :)!"

"I thought it was empty when I walked in! But that's because the main part of the restaurant is behind the wall. Big, beautiful bar area surrounded by regular tables as well as coffee tables with couches and a wonderful huge patio with heaters and lots of sitting as well as moving around space. I was more enchanted by the cocktail menu than the food menu, but that was well deserved by the bar and the food offerings were good too. Unique enough, but not mind blowing. What's great here is the people watching - it's at least 95% beautiful people, including the waiters, and you'll definitely see a celeb. This is a FABULOUS after work spot, I can't wait to go back."

"The reason that I made a lunch reservation there was to enjoy the beautiful patio. To our dismay on a gorgeous sunny California day, they have the patio section closed for lunch and we were forced to sit inside. The servers had minimal understanding of the menu and the ingredients beyond what was printed on the menu. There was an overall "attitude" from the entire staff when questioning just about anything. I'm not sure how the dinner staff is, but the lunch staff were "out to lunch.""

"Had an excellent dining experience on the patio. I had three different waitresses helping serve my table (it was still early before they got busy) so I felt very well taken care of. The wine list is superb and the food was excellent. Such a hot spot in Weho and will be back soon!"

"Even though this is a very small restaurant, we were seated promptly and the service was efficient and friendly. The openable full-length windows facing the sidewalk bring lots of air and light into the space. All of our selections were excellent - we will definitely return."

Diinner can be crazy busy so make a reso! The dinner menu is great and per usual, the brussel spouts are a standout. The brunch menu is underwhelming and I thought the eggs were really bland. I have found the service to be hit or miss no matter what time of day you go so I would not recommend this for a first or second date nor a business meeting.
Also, the weirdest thing to me: If your group is larger than 4 people you are going to be sitting at one of two bar height, long communal tables which are super uncomfortable and makes it really difficult to talk to the others in your group. All the other seating is for 2,3 or 4. This was the biggest surprise and they really gotta fix"

"Our first visit and we can't wait to be regulars. Sorry we waited so long to go--loved it, start to finish. Space is amazing/industrial without being cold. We were there early so was on the quiet side for most of the meal, got louder as the evening went on. Service was terrific, very knowledgeable and warm. Kale/grapefruit salad, fried cauliflower, and chicken wings were wonderful--and chicken wings small plate could be a meal unto itself, huge portion, really tender and moist. Pork flatiron, cooked perfectly, a really different take on pork and we loved it. We're out a lot, probably picky about things, and we loved Laurel Hardware."

"Food, service and ambiance were great. For a "hip" place in the heart of WeHo, I found the staff to be warm and welcoming. We sat on the patio which is completely lovely. Food is great--fun to share lots of dishes. I'll definitely be back!"

"Such an amazing experience all the way around! The ambience, food, and service all "A++++"! Our ONLY suggestion is to be a little more conservative with the salt on some of the food (like the sprouts and the olives), but otherwise everything outstanding!! Thank you!!"

"My husband and I drove into West Hollywood to treat my brother to dinner at Laurel Hardware for his birthday. What an incredible evening! Our waitress, Dee, set the tone by clearly loving the food offerings that she was discussing with us. We were guided by her suggestions and absolutely loved the lollipop sprouts, the cauliflower, and the scallops! We enjoyed the squash pizza, as well. The cocktails were inventive, and the bottle of Sonnet Pinot was very nice. Delicious food, fun atmosphere. We will be back!"

"We went for a an early Saturday brunch, and were the first party there so we chose to sit outside on the patio to enjoy the wonderful weather we were having. It was very mellow the entire two hours we were there, and the food was delicious. I ordered a 3 egg scramble with ham hock and my friend ordered the chicken and biscuit. She kept raving about it all day! I will definitely try this place out for dinner sometime soon."

"This was my second time taking clients to lunch here and they did not disappoint. The cocktail menu is a standout here and there's something for everyone. I had a grilled chicken, baby kale and quinoa salad that was perfectly proportioned and absolutely delicious. Stumptown coffee is served in individual french presses and a brownie with salted caramel gelato was more than enough for the four of us to share for dessert. Laurel Hardware is definitely on my short list for consistent high quality lunch locations in West Hollywood."

"This is a hipster hangout, but I doubt people are coming for the food. Every dish was a disappointment including the french fries. The waiter was kind enough to exchange a dish we really did not like for a safe margherita pizza (their offer) but it came covered in black pepper sprinkled heavily in more areas than others and it was overwhelming. Payback from the chef for not liking his scallop dish? After being asked how everything was and then offering to exchange the dish, we must have been down graded to the 'let's not bother asking them if they want another drink or anything else' table. It's a great setting in the back and has a great bar and patio, but It's really loud in there . Valet took forever getting car. Overall, bad experience."

"The night started off terribly with the Valet. Although there is a sign that says "Park Here", when we pulled up we were yelled at to keep moving and to stop 20 feet prior to the sign, in the intersection. When we entered the restaurant, they asked if we wanted to sit in the lounge area with low tables 12" from the ground, at a community table with metal stools, or up front, which was empty (it was 6:15pm). Call me old fashioned, but when I reserve a table, I'm hoping to actually sit at a table. There were multiple open booths, but you have to request a booth when you make the reservation in order to sit at one. No one sat at the 2-seater booth near us until 7:30. These disappointments do not compensate for the good, but not excellent food."

"laurel hardware was a must-try while in LA, as it's gotten tons of publicity and is a hot spot for high profile events. I went with a few friends for a late dinner and drinks which it was perfect for. we tried the small plate food which was delicious (the brussel sprouts were to die for) and the drinks were strong. the ambiance is very modern and rustic, with large wooden tables that are shared by multiple parties. I recommend checking this spot out for dinner and drinks, but wouldn't make my whole night of it, not exactly the energetic bar scene."

"Great place very popular right now. Been quite a few times now since around the corner from me. Great drinks. Struggle a little with entrees and finding something but thru have a ton of great apps and shared plates. Amazing pizzas. "I really wanted to love this place, as I used to live down the street and everytime I went to Laurel Hardware (the real store), I would think it would make a great quirky restaurant. Now it's here and it's a little disappointing. I sat at a metal table, on a hard metal chair by the door for 2 hours. Not comfy. It wasn't cold, but it felt cold. A warm candle would've done wonders. Menu had almost nothing if you were a vegan, veggie or not a big meat eater. The prices were good, but only because the plates were very small. Spent alot more money ordering doubles of everything, just to get a good sized meal. The food was good, but not great. The fresh fries were the best, but nothing special. Wouldn't suggest this place to a real foodie."

"Not sure which is more noteworthy with this place - their very creative reuse of the old space (and name), which as a long-term resident of the neighborhood I absolutely love, or the wonderful food. Particularly recommended: The truffled barley, and the burger. A nice addition to our list of places we can walk to from home! The outdoor space behind the restaurant is lovely, too."

"I had eaten here for lunch and had only seen the front room of the restaurant. The experience was fine but I couldn't understand the hype. Then, on my second visit, we had dinner in the back room and I fully understood. The space is gorgeous, totally unlike anything else in this neighborhood. The service was wonderful. A bit on the informal side, which I like, and very thorough and helpful. Food was good, not earth-shattering but respectable."
