"Excellent food...I have been here three times now, tried most items on the menu (either by way of a friend who was with me or as part of my own meal) and have been extremely impressed. Service has been a bit slow a couple of the times, but servers are very friendly.
Make sure to save some room for dessert which is equally as impressive as the apps and entrees!"

"I was beyond amazed with the service the food the ambience. I sat at the Chet's bar with an open view to the kitchen. Everyone was super friendly and the food was fantastic. I'm a pescatarian and I haven't eaten meat in over 7 years but the chef was so kind and professional and proud that when he offered me a complimentary dish of their speciality ham, I had to try it!! That says a bunch. I'll definitely be back with friends!!"

"Food was not tasty or special. Oysters were very fishy and there was no horseradish. They only had a "special" sauce for the oysters which was watery and not very good. Pizza was strange - basically a plain toasted crust and all the toppings were in a bowl on the side. One topping was supposed to be burratta cheese, but it was not creamy or tasty; it was somewhat hard and rubbery. Service was very good. Server was friendly and attentive."

"Wine list $$$$$$$ We had a Pinot Noir and ordered the oysters appetizer. The oysters were small tasty morsels, but at $24.00 a half dozen, they did little to satisfy anyone's hunger. We moved on to a flat bread, deconstructed pizza after a lengthy explanation of the esoteric menu ingredients. It was tasty, but might have been better if the toppings (basically soft cheese & tomatoes) were warm rather than chilled. We ordered an item to-go for my friend's husband ($20 for a fish entree) that arrived in a little tiny box. Dessert was absolutely worth every penny-a curry pineapple cake with cilantro ice cream. A simple Monday night dinner with a friend clocked in at a little over $150.00 for not that much food."

"This is my new favorite restaurant: mostly every dish we had was a hit. We noticed that many diners were ordering pizzas and wondered how they could be any better than what we had. That's a tall order since Houston now has many, many good restaurants to choose from these days. But Provisions wins hands-down on food, especially since reservations are so easy and it's so close to my home. We will be back very soon and hope it rates well on consistency too."

"I've now visited twice for lunch and, of course, fallen victim to ordering too much food. But it's impossible to resist the flavors. This is the only restaurant where I would consider eating two pizzas for lunch. The shrimp salad dances on your tongue, and the burrata makes me hope Provisions becomes a Houston institution, not a passing trend. This is a great restaurant with a well-trained, attentive, but not obsequious, staff."

"Our waitress was wonderful and the food was good but it was extremely too loud. We sat next to a couple that was extremely loud and rude. The second we sat down they were talking bad about us and saying rude things about my wife and I. We never said a word to them the whole time we were there and they just kept saying rude things about us. We got to the point where we left in the middle of our meal and went home. We told the hostess why we left and that is was not our waitress fault. We are young parents and try hard to go out on date nights when we can but this was hands down the worst dinning experience we have ever had. I have never seen my wife that upset and sad all at once. I guess there will always be mean people in the world."

"The ambience is a substatnial improvement over the Gravitas. The succint menu has several gems and what makes the place unique is the combination of flavors pairing food elements with side dishes. The ham of the day was exquisite and the dehydrated mustard enhanced its flavors. The pate de campagne was delicious, highlighted by the fresh bread, baked in house. Slices of hamachi were served mixed with a delightful vegetable mix. The sweetbread was undercooked and covered with breading which wwas largely unnecessary. The eclectic wine list covers all major varietals and wine producing areas of the world. The place's major drawback continues to be the high noise level. With the dining room full, you couldn't hear yourself think!"

"Had an absolutely wonderful meal. Server was kind, enthusiastic about the food, and attentive - she told me at the end of the meal when we were discussing the food that she was very proud to work there. That's what I love to hear. The food was outstanding--I had the pretzel epi, ham 'o' the day, lettuce salad, mussels, and the yuzu sherbert dessert. Everything was worth writing home about, as they say - the dessert deserves special mention for nearly knocking me out of my seat. The cocktail I had was also really delicious - I ended up in the bar while they got my table ready, and even though the bar was packed they still made sure I had a place to sit and someone taking my drink order. All in all a complete success."

"The food was very good, but the bar supply was subpar. No pineapple juice, no Chambord, and when the martinis arrive, they were served in what seemed to be a parfait glass - no martini glasses? Also, $45 for 3 Tito's martinis and 1 glass of Pinot - pretty steep for a non-top shelf vodka. The noise level was so loud we could barely hear ourselves talk at a 4-top. Our waiter started out pretty attentive, but after the sommelier stepped in for the wine, he made himself pretty scarce. $500 for a LOUD dinner for 4 - guests that's normal for some people, but I prefer to be able to have conversation while I enjoy my food."

"First visit was a bit disappointing considering how marvelous the other side (Pass) was. Lacking was the service and food prep. Service was friendly and well intentioned but overloaded and spotty with several errors. The artichoke was not cooked enough so that the leaf meat was inaccessible. The sweetbread salad was water-logged as if it sat a long time in a lot of dressing. The smoked rabbit pasta was delicious but not al dente - cooked about 5 minutes longer than a respected Italian would do. Also, the wine list could be better if it had some California cabs (well) under $100. Currently there are none. I'll be giving Provisions "the pass" until they improve."

"Decided to give it a try after being warned by a couple friends that it was overrated and pretentious with mediocre food, given the overall good reviews online. Should have listened to our friends. Staff was unwilling to make any alterations to food to meet dietary restrictions and menu was too focused on sounding trendy. Tables were very close together and lacked any privacy. "Had a great dinner here the other evening, and thoroughly enjoyed the night. My friend was late to meet me due to traffic and the waitress was very accommodating to me, seating me and serving me a delicious cocktail (the improved Moscow mule). I also had the rosemary bread pairing which was delicious. The roasted artichoke and the cresta di gallo pasta were superb. The kale pizza was good but strong flavors so not my favorite of the evening. Carrot cake donut for dessert was fabulous. Overall, really enjoyed the meal and will definitely be back to try more on the menu. It is definitely one of those places where the whole menu sounds delicious!"

"After hearing about the great reviews this place had garnered, my wife & I stopped by for dinner on a friday night. We arrived around 7:30pm. The restaurant was half full but we overheard that it was the calm before the storm. The menu is interesting & there were a few items that caught our eye. The bone marrow brioche & the hamachi were delicious. The veal sweetbread panzanella was interesting but we found it a little bland. We also tried the braised beef short ribs but it seemed a little bit tough to chew. Our meal started out well but fizzled for us at the end. We left a little underwhelmed. The service was outstanding though - Jazz was very accomodating & attentive. I have heard that the suckling pig was great but have not tried it yet"

Our waiter was great, but I may given a better review if we were seated on time. We had a 9:15 reservation and weren't seated until 9:40.
That said, I'll try it again, just not on a Saturday night."

"I chose the restaurant for a first date location based on glowing reviews from friends and various restaurant review publications. I wasn't disappointed. The ambiance was modern, but not cold. We enjoyed each dish. Very delightful. Drinks were wonderful. Great selection from cocktails to wine. I believe the only complaint I have, and my date shares it with me, was that the vanilla tapenade was just too salty. I focused on it only because a friend who came in with a food critic months ago had mentioned it in particular as one of his must try items. Maybe not enough vanilla? Otherwise, I was impressed by our meal from food to service. I shall be returning."

"This has been my second time at Pass and Provisions and the staff is always very friendly and attentive.
