"Though my wife and I have dined there several times, this visit was equally memorable as our first. The food selections are great, the ambience is tops, the meals are prepared and presented excellently, and the staff are very attentive. We had some special guests with us this trip and for their first visit, they thought it was "over the top". This is one of a few restaurants in the area with such special charms and appeals for a dining experience, plus, the piano player is a fabulous addition to the mode and atmosphere.
And, at the end of a wonderful meal, we sat on the front entry chairs and watched the sun set into the Gulf of Mexico. It couldn't have been a more perfect evening."

"This is one of the most beautiful places you will ever go to for dinner. You are surrounded by water, the gulf on one side and the bay on the other! Look for the green flash at sunset. The food and service were special!"

"Great location, wonderful food, especially the crab bisque! We each had a different fish, perfectly prepared and served. Their wine list was superb and a good value. Unless staying in Captiva, the location is a bit out of the way, but worth the drive through Sanibel to get there."

"Delicious food with Non-cliche preparation (I recommend the halibut) Lovely setting with dinning room looking out at the ocean (request the view room). Service was pleasant, but the restaurant appears understaffed, as things moved slowly, dishes sat uncleared and wine sat unpoured."

"For the prices they charge, the service was horrible. Wait staff was inattentive. We kept having to ask for someone to take our order, refill water glasses, and ask for coffee. Even when we got our bill, I had to ask for a pen. Simple stuff.
The food was good, and you can't beat the sunset!"

"Went here expecting a fine meal, but was disappointed. Although the setting is nice and the service started out well, it went downhill pretty quickly. I ordered the house salad, which came with the most bland ranch dressing I've ever had. Our waitress cleared our appetizer plates, but failed to bring any new silverware, leaving us unable to eat our dinners when they arrived. My father and sister both ordered the Sumac-crusted Ahi Tuna, which was very, very salty, as was the risotto served with many of the entries. The risotto also wasn't such--it seemed much more like over-cooked, clumpy rice, as opposed to a nice, creamy risotto. I had the halibut, which was fine, but had far too much of the mustard sauce. A disappointing experience."

"We had a very nice meal here in a very nice setting. It's getting quite pricy though. There are other very good choices in the Sanibel/Captiva area that are less costly. But, overall, it's a very good place to go for very good food."

"We decided to splurge on our last night in Sanibel - but Old Captiva House proved to be a disappointment. The setting is lovely, but first off the waiter was very stiff. The menu looked promising but the food was bland. The one item that did get rave reviews was the crab soup that was delivered WITH the main course. The desserts were also very good – and huge. Sadly I have to report poor value for the money."

"We didn’t stay at Tween Waters but went for a special occasion dinner. The food and drinks were expensive and unremarkable. The service was less than adequate for an expensive restaurant. The waiter was pleasant enough but knew practically nothing about the menu and had to run back and forth to answer pretty basic questions.
The worst part was the lame crab races in the bar. This should have been a fun activity. Instead, the presenter was crude and rude. He turned an overprices, barely adequate dinner into a really unpleasant evening.
Don’t go here!"

"Second year we took a large group during a business trip. 24 people served very well. Food excellant, steak, sea food, we loved all of it! Service was great even with large group. The place is a winner. With app's salads, wine, drinks, dinner and dessert, and auto tip 20%, just over $100 a head. I would say a excellent value."
