"This is our third time at Villa Nova. We love the atmosphere, and the food and servce have been great.
We went for Mother's Day dinner, and had a different server than previous visits. His service was a little off. He missed some details and made a mistake on the check. They were busy, and the food took an hour. He didn't come by to say anything until we'd waited about 45 minutes, and then he just said "your food should be up in a few minutes." I think he was overwhelmed, but a sooner check back with an apology would have been appreciated. I totally understand what happens when it gets busy in a restaurant, and this will not deter us from going back."

"We went on Mother's Day, so you expect to wait because it was very busy. We were seated right away and our order given quickly. The wait for the food was over an hour and the server was apologetic as well as the hostess. When the food finally arrived it was very good.
I would recommend going but only if you have plenty of time."

"The food is fabulous! Always has been. The location and decor could use some updating, and the tables are a bit crammed together too tightly, which makes it a bit noisy, but the delicious food makes up for these inconveniences."

"I took a friend to dinner for her first visit to Villa Nova. I've visited many times over the past years and always had a lovely experience. We enjoyed a wonderful, leisurely meal. Our server knew the menu and was friendly and attentive. The food was very good, and the atmosphere was pleasant, relaxing. Since we had an evening concert to attend, we ate before the restaurant was busy. It can feel crowded and noisy, but comfortable later in the evening. We'll be back!"

"Food was good, service was alright, restaurant itself was a bit cluttered inside. I felt like it would have been on an episode of "Restaurant Impossible" if the food wasn't as good as it is. Noise level was okay, however when seating the two of us the server put us right next to two large groups when there were plenty of open seats. Not appreciated as we were clearly on a date & didn't need to hear these loud parties conversations the entire time we were trying to enjoy our evening & meal."

"Definitely not whisked away to our table. It was our first time eating here and I think out timing was just off for it to be a great experience. I am not a food snob but I grew up with Italian food and culture and do expect a certain level of service amenities that did not occur. Our first appetizer was not available which turned out to be a blessing because the gnocchi we ordered was the best I had ever had. the beer I would have enjoyed with my main course was out. I love long romantic dinners and we were in no hurry. when our meals arrived it appeared they were reversed but were the couples next to us but we had used out forks to check them out. wanted desert but was afraid to be disappointed that it would be out. will try again"

"Unfortunately Villa Nove bowed to the pressure of cramming more people into the restaurant than they really had capacity to seat, and more importantly, capacity to cook for. We of course had reservations and were seated at a table for 6!!!! Not exactly the cozy or romatic setting that i had in mind. We waited over an hour and a half for our meal - the waitress was beside herself and apologized at each turn regarding the delays. The worst part of the meal was that my Halibut "Special" was a poor piece of fish swimming around in a soupy mass of yellowish lemony sauce - it was genuinely a disappointment.
I had heard such rave reviews about Villa Nova, but the experience did not match the comments at all."

"I arrived on time for my reservation. I waited for 20 minutes before being approached by a waitress from outside "my" area who told me that she was helping the waiter "who got slammed. " She then took my drink order, but told me they only had beer and wine, while I stared at a stained glass window saying "Beer, Spirits, Wine." I then waited 10 minutes for the wine to be brought. My waitress "thought" she'd brought me my order. She did better bring the food, which for Veal Picatta was just OK. Lots of capers and "gravy," just the right amount of veal."

"The food was flavorful and elegantly arranged. The sides of creamed spinach and potatoes were absolutely amazing. Pre-dinner salad and soup were unremarkable and salad was a bit mayonnaise-y for my taste. Extensive wine list with some unusual finds. Veal was fork tender and very flavorful. Rack of lamb came uncut, and was a bit clunky to deal with, but juicy and perfectly cooked. The price is a bit outrageous, but product was fresh and expertly treated, so worth the expense. My husband and I will be back."
