"My fiance and I took my soon to be in-laws to Darien Social for dinner. We live in Stamford and had never heard of Darien Social, but we received a coupon in a local mailer and decided to check it out. The place is really cute. They have an outdoor patio with a wood-burning fire pit! The beer list is awesome and the food was really great. We had the calamari and the artichoke gratin as appetizers. Both were really excellent. For entrees, we had cobb salad, fried chicken sandwich, salmon, and roasted chicken. We were all really happy with our meals and plan to go back soon!"

"We come from Greenwich to Darien Social, which we first found because we had a Groupon. Now, Groupon or no Groupon, we go because we just love the place. One of the best draft beer selections in the area - and a menu so full of great things that my one issue with the place being that I can never make up my mind!"

"Having been to Darien Social several times for burgers are loved the place, my wife and I decided to try them for Easter Brunch. BIG Mistake. Brunch started at noon but by the time we arrived there at 1:15 the food was picked over and barely warm. The waiter was only moderately attentive and was visibly annoyed that a more attentive busboy who noticed our empty glasses asked if we'd like more drinks.
There was a little surprise when we got the check. They advertised $5 mimosas and bloody marys all day long, but when we got the check, we found out that the first one was $10 and that subsequent drinks were $5. When we complained to the hostess on the way out, she shrugged and said, "Sorry, it's my first day here." #nothappy"

"On this Sunday night, the kitchen and wait staff seemed overwhelmed. First we were told that we'd have to wait in the bar for our table -even though once we got to the bar there were many open tables and a booth! It was only when we did not order a bar drink that we were brought to our table. Then we waited for someone to offer us water, bread, drinks - anything! I finally flagged down the manager who did bring us these things. My Cobb Salad was very good, but my husband's burger was overdone. He had ordered rare and got medium. The bar was very noisy at first, then quieted down after 8:00 (It was Sunday night!) The half price bottle of wine offer on Sundays is quite nice. We'd have to try it again to see if we'd make it a regular spot."

"The menu seems sound - but the food is a step above. Had the mussels special which was outstanding. Great mussels cooked to perfection in an interesting sauce. Fries were delectable. Salad was interesting and tasty. First visit but not the last. Great casual eats."

"We came here before for drinks and decided to come back for dinner, especially with Groupon deal that we got :). Food was great, service was great and definitely will come back for their burger... the only thing that probably less apealing was their special for the night Steak Taco Meal was too little for an entree...it would have been better if it was an appetizer...
Other then that I definitely would recommend this restaurant....."

"We were nicely welcomed to this restaurant first from the hostess, then from our waiter, who offered suggestions of drinks. However the food was just so-so. The beet salad was miniscule. The fish tacos were tasteless - just a bad choice on my part being that the restaurant serves American food. They should take it off the menu. The roasted chicken however was very tasty, as was the calamari. We brought our 3 kids who enjoyed burgers and pasta. Our waiter disappeared at the end of the meal. We asked for the bill from someone else while the table was still full of plates. Didn't want to spend more time there ordering desserts since service slowed down significantly. I would not rush back."

"We went Saturday night with friends for dinner, drinks and the music and went back with my daughter and her friends on Monday for Presidents Day dinner after a New Canaaan vs Darien hockey game. Hamburgers were too small....a bit disappointed. Pizza excellent. Appetizers Saturday night were amazing! Would go back but NEVER to order hamburgers again!"

"We went to Darien Social to celebrate our daughter's birthday, at her request. It was an early evening (6:30pm) as we had an 8 year old and a 12 year old with us. They had already run out of several things that we chose from the menu. There were nine of us. the restaurant (and we were in the back room)got loud enough that we were unable to hear what was being said at the other end of our table. I would try again with a smaller group. Overall the food was good and worth a second try."

"We had a very pleasant casual meal on a Sunday night. We were greeted cheerfully and our waiter Chris was very accommodating. We sat in the back room by choice as it was quiet. The front bar/dining room was lively and quite noisy but people seemed to be enjoying that atmosphere too. We ordered relatively simple fare and our food was prepared just as we asked. The burgers were juicy and cooked to medium with just a bit of pink in the middle. Fries were good but could have been a bit more crispy. The thin crust on the pizza was crispy with not too much sauce or cheese. We shared the fried calamari for an appetizer which was good, small rings with tasty sauce and sliced jalapenos. A dependable and cheerful place for casual dining."

"All the makings of the classic, reliable neighborhood place. Food is dependable, will always be good value. Prices will not discourage you from making it your fall back if you just don't feel like cooking on a Tuesday night.

"We had high hopes for a unique dining experience at Darien Social. The ambiance was charming, and the wait staff was friendly enough. The menu boasts a gastro-pub, farm to table look to it. However, I'm sorry to say that we were disappointed in the quality of food. We ordered the Burrata to start. It was served too cold, and not as creamy as we would have liked. I also ordered the artisanal salad, which lacked flavor and the gorgonzola cheese should have been sprinkled on top, not mixed in. The duck confit was dry, though I enjoyed the squash that was served with it. My husband liked the duck salad, so that was the saving grace of the meal."
