"This was the first time our group of 4 have been to Jake's. The restaurant was half full. We order their standard burgers, the waitress arrived with our burgers, then the sides and we were missing one of the burgers. We waited about 5 minute before we were told the last sandwich would be right out. Wait 5 more minutes for the sandwich to arrive. These are hand burgers, the grill isn't big enough for 4 burgers? When 3 guess receive their food and one doesn't we wait for all food to arrive. The waitress then came back to remove a order of fries stating the cook thought they were to salty ? Don't understand how this can happen in a burger shop ? The burger were just ok ,not worth a premium price."

"The burgers were good but they took well over half an hour to arrive after our order was placed. We were there with two small kids and that can turn the night into a nightmare quickly. Our server was very nice and good but I feel sorry for her because the kitchen was so slow she couldn't turn any tables over. This is our second time there and I recall the same thing happening the first round last year.
My burger was very tasty but when it arrived it was undercooked to my order. I couldn't imagine sending it back because we had to get going and I was pretty hungry. The fries were limp and soggy."

"There was no record of our reservation when we arrived. It was a very busy short staffed night. Thankfully our word was enough to get us a table after a minimun of waiting. I hope the reservation I made for brunch tomorrow is intact. Apparently receiving confirmation isn't a guarantee."

"The food is good and the staff are very friendly. The atmosphere was nice - casual dining. Where this restaurant falls down is in the service from the kitchen. The waiting staff are attentive and responsive but food preparation times are excessive for the type of food offered. We witnessed this for many tables and, unfortunately, this is our third visit to Jake's Burgers over several months and it has been an issue each time. We love to dine at Jake's where this is never an issue. A few lessons could be shared so that we do not lose this dining experience in our neighborhood."

"The food was really good. Our server was not. We asked him to split the bill, he was annoyed, told us it would be really hard and he would "do the best he could". He brought it back completely wrong. His attitude was terrible. From what i could tell, he was the only one with a poor attitude. i would give it another try in the hopes the rest of the staff isn't as rude.

"Burgers were good but very expensive for what you received - online, the prices were less on their internet site......sides of fries including sweet potato fries were listed as $1.95 on their site for a small one but in house were $3.95......sides portions small for the cost and the fries were not crispy. For the amount they charge all should be exceptional......I don't know if I would go back as I've had burgers as good or better with better sides and hace paid a lot less......"

"Had 5:45 reservations, and we were seated as soon as we arrived, about 540. Always appreciate getting seated when requested..so a great start with the evening. Had in our group a somewhat picky eater who asked the waitress dozens of questions== everything from how her martini was to be made, to her special order burger---our waitress was was so patient and polite. Service overall was above expectations. And the food...outstanding, and served on a timely basis. No complaints at the table. The sweet potato fries melt in your mouth. There is a kid menu---I think it is overpriced at 6.50, especially if just a grilled cheese is ordered, but the kids were happy with their meals. As a side note, gluten free buns are available."

"Food was good- a bit overpriced (can get a burger that's just as good, if not better, that includes fries at Sobelman's for $2-$3 less). The staff was extremely friendly, great customer service. Had to ask for water, forgot to bring a few items to our table. For 2 adults and a small child, $50. Little more than I'd like to spend for lunch, but the food was good."

"Our second time to Jake's Burger and probably our last. We had a reservation and upon arrival the ineptness at the hostess stand started us off on the wrong foot - they only have a few tables and they couldn't seem to figure out where to seat us. We were finally seated and there were numerous large groups so thankfully our waitress got our order in quickly. The only reason for my fair rating on service was for the hostess stand - our waitress was good. Burgers were ok, but there are so many good burgers in Milwaukee not sure why we paid $12 for one at Jake's. Took way too long to receive our wine and food - the sodas for our kids were flat. Again - with all the great burger spots in MKE that was likely our last visit to Jakes."

"Although Jake's Burger is a bit small, it is a great place to get a unique burger. On the Friday night we went, it was steady but not overly busy. The brie and truffle oil burger is fantastic! Expect to pay around $9-$11 for a burger, sides such as french fries are extra. kids Meals are around $6-$7 and include fries, a drink and cookie. They only have shakes, no dessert menu but most will be plenty full after the burger."

"Had a 6:00 pm reservation. Waited, only maybe 5 minutes, to be seated. Prompt. Everyone was very friendly. Not a lot of people there when we arrived. The service was good. The food was very good...in comparing it to Red Robin, I guess I gave it the very good instead of outstanding. When we left, the bar was hopping and things looked like they were starting to get movin' for the late-night scene. I wouldn't race out to tell all my friends, but I would go back."

"I like Jake's because they do hamburgers so much better than fast food places. The use quality meat and season it well, but the burgers are a mess. The patties are too thick and the extras are piled too high. i appreciate the generous portions, but when eating a burger one should be able to get a bit of everything in his mouth. Instead, a Jake's burger turns into a platter experience where you have to use a knife and fork. The fries are tasty but soggy. Overall, the food tastes good and the customer gets his money's worth, but the presentation is amateur."

"First time at Jakes, asked the waitress for a recommendation and tried the port and blue burger- it was outstanding! Kids loved the burgers and shakes. Limited menu, but they do everything very well. Upscale place for the best burger in Brookfield! Nice beer selection and full bar, too."

"Burgers were excellent! While it seems odd for fries to be ala carte, you will soon understand when you receive your burger as they are a meal in themselves. Those that ordered fries couldn't even finish them. Onion strings were excellent as well and come on top of some of the burgers which I really like. The only down sides to our visit: It was a bit drafty so some of us were a little chilled, and they don't serve coffee. No coffee at all. My Dad was a little disappointed at that, especially considering there is a full bar. We would go again in a heartbeat, they had no problem taking care of our party of 7."

"The gourmet burger I had was awesome! The ground beef mix used and the seasoning used tasted great. I ordered mine with roasted tomato, cheese, port caramelized onion, lettuce, and sauce. I also had coleslaw. That had shredded apple in addition to cabbage and carrot. The dressing was sweet and mildly peppery.
The staff was pleasant and knew about what they were serving."

"The burgers are good. Make sure that you understand their definitions of how the meat will be cooked. The hamburgers are very thick and delicious. The service is too fast. We ordered salads and hamburgers and the hamburgers were out before we had a chance to finish our salads. I guess this is a place where we order our items one thing at a time."
