"Large portions of very tasty food delivered by attentive and pleasant waitstaff. Only downside is the cost......salad and pasta with one glass of wine was $100! I will return, but not often."

"My mother ordered a shrimp risotto and she got shrimps with rice. She was very disappointed but did not want to complain. We love risottos and we have ordered them many times along our life and this was a joke risotto. Very sad for the price we payed"

"My husband thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It was a beautiful night and the doors were open and people were dining right outside the bar area. We had a reservation, however when we spotted two seats at the bar, we sat and decided to have dinner there."

"Each of my three other friends, and myself, had been several times to this restaurant both for lunch and dinner. It was always convivial with great food and service. We were having a quick lunch because we all had other engagements. We only ordered appetizers. While we were waiting for our lunch the Maitre D' came to our table to chastize us for not ordering more. He was shockingly rude. If the restaurant has a policy that one must order an entree to sit at a table, that should be stated clearly on their menu and in any review that appears about them.It was 1:30 in the afternoon; the restaurant was half empty. The Maitre D' needs lessons in manners or needs to work in another line of business that does not deal with the public."

"A bit cramped, noisy, and quite expensive, however food is delicious. Try any of the specials - you will not be disappointed. Service is attentive and extremely professional. Very good wine list, with some relatively inexpensive excellent wines."

"One of the best meals we've ever had! From beginning (truffle potato chips at the bar) to yummy dessert (tiramasu) it was yummy! Loved the little appies when we sat down! Great staff & accommodated my special request! The mushroom ravioli was so tasty!!!! We shared it as our first course. If you're doing a splurge night out put this on your list of must-do!"

"This dining hot spot has the Italian friendly service from the beginning to end. The tables are close together in a relatively small space and the crowd is loud. The food starts flowing the moment you are seated with bruscetta, parmesan cheese scooped from a large wheel tableside, assortment of breads and an order of garlic bread to boot. The grilled octopus had been perfectly prepared with all of the "suction cups" removed, like my wife's Italian grandmother used to do, and was excellent. My half-rack of lamb arrived slightly rarer than medium rare but was quickly handled with appologies from everyone. Four ribs was more than enough and it was very good. No room for desert. I would definitely go back next time I'm in NY!"

"Unimpressive food. The appetizers were very good. The veal was bland and overcooked. The Italian sausage was bland was well. The waiter had no real interest in how our experience was."

"The waiter talked bad about me to one of the busboy. It was incredibly rude. The food is barely better than Olive Garden and makes you feel like you just ate a tub of crisco. (soooo heavy) The jumbo shrimp my mom got were very tough. The chicken plate I got was bland and they decided to throw in a drumstick with a ton of gristle on it. GRISTLE FOR $30 A PLATE?!?! Nuff said... left a 5% tip"

"We've been to AC location several times and been very pleased so thought we'd try this one. Downtown original one is impossible to get into. Our expectations were exceeded in every way. Only drawback was we went early and after work bar crowd made it noisy. The service is flawless: professional, polished and just the right amt of warm and friendly. Great selection of wines by the glass but we ordered one of our fav Brunellos. We shared a caprese salad and special mango salad to start. Tomatoes were Jersey fresh tasting and mozzarella was certainly made that day. We skipped the specials and ordered the tried and true chicken parm and shrimp fra diablo. Again, loved every bite. Can't wait to return!"

"I'm more madly in love with the "next door" UES version of the famed NY Village original. I love having you in my neighborhood and would be there every night if I could. Pasta cooked perfectly, the freshest fish this side of the Adriatic, and a perpetual buzz that makes every visit a special occasion."

"My family has been going to this reaturant for years! I was so upset and and angered by my last dining experience there the manager was one of the rudest and Inconsiderate people I have ever met in my entire life, the rest of the staff was fine. If you are ever planning on having a special occasion dinner of celebrating a birthday -GO SOME WHERE ELSE! DO NOT EAT AT IL MULINO! I never thought I would say that because I have always loved il Mulino! And Im not the type of person who ever writes reviews but this time they ruined my birthday celebration so I am. When I called to let them know I was having a cake delivered they the women who answered immediately transferred me to another man who then proceeded to SCOLD me, HOW DARE YOU SCOLD ME."
