"Great re-invention of the traditional Wisconsin supper club. Perfect atmosphere, décor, music. Very attentive and friendly staff. Nice to see a classic old fashioned made properly, and the rare ice cream drinks on a dessert menu. Pacing of our meal was a little slow, but our small group didn't mind, and everything ordered was delicious."

"We have now eaten at both Joey Gerard restaurants. Had steak Diane at both and it was consistent. That's always a good thing. A very relaxed atmosphere in a restaurant where it's possible to have actual conversation with table mates. Our two guests last week were very impressed."

"I reconnected with an old friend and wanted to treat her to a good Supper Club experience.
I had been to Joey Gerard's one time before and was not satisfied with service or food.
This latest experience was just the opposite. I was very pleased with service and the steak en brochette was simply perfect.
Our waitress Amanda was very attentive and had personality that was appreciated.
Thanks for restoring my good opinion in the Bartolotta chain restaurants."

"This was below what I was expecting for a Bartolotta restaurant or any higher end restaurant. First off, the bread was very tough and chewy and ...why are you serving cheap crackers at this restaurant? Second, we ordered a house salad and they brought in a different salad. We ordered the prime rib, their Saturday special. and it took forever for them to bring it out. When they did, it was cold, we had to have them take it back. They also forgot to bring out the horseradish cream so another round of waiting. The dessert was probably the better of what we had, but even that was below par. I had that same dessert at Bacchus many times & it was not swimming in caramel sauce like the one I had & they actually pan fried the bananas at Bacchus."

"We went to Joey Gerard's to celebrate our son's graduation. What a perfect place for him. On my advice, he ordered the steak and he also had the mashed potatoes and gravy. Then, after he was done with his meal, they served him their strawberry schaum torte at no charge. He was so happy with the food and would definitely go back for another occasion. The other four of us had fantastic meals also. Our waitress was exceptional. Definitely recommend to go to Joey Gerard's for any occasion!"

"Excellent as expected @ Bartolotta's. However, the Hostess (blonde with/black jacket) Fri eve forgot about us; surprising for par of Bartolotta's. Me & husband made online reserv, at 4:15 Friday, for 6:15 that eve. We decided to go right away, however. So, arrived 4:45, asked if we could be seated & cxl the reserv. Hostess enthusiastically accommodated, with 2 parties ahead of us. We went to the bar & LOVED both bartenders-BEST ever (I mnged Hospitality). 6:05 my husband returned to hostess about seating. She forgot about us, had the 6:15 reserv she said she cxld when arrived; then remembered & got us in right away. If not for great bartenders would have tried restaurant only once more. Loved all else but forgotten @ 4:45? (Joey's)."

"Our first experience at a Bartolotta restaurant was not a memorable one. I took my wife for her birthday. Food was ok but not for what they charge. It came to our table warm, and it was cold by the time we finished it. We sat at a table for two and could literally reach out and touch the tables on both sides of us. Service was the same as any other middle of the road restaurant. At $140 for 2 people, I expected a little more."

"Our party of four ordered three filets and one prime rib. All three filets were cooked as ordered BUT temperature wise, they were lukewarm at best. It was a good thing that the mushroom side dish, which arrived at the table late, were piping hot as that imparted some heat to the steak.
We were disappointed with this visit which was our third time Joey Gerard's."

"Our Party of six was greeted at the hostess station and promptly seated. Drinks were exceptional; perfectly mixed and very tasty. The food was superb. All six of us had a different entre. Everyone of them was served to perfection. Prime Rib melted in your mouth; The New York Strip, Ribeye and Top sirloin were butter knife tender and extremely flavorful; The Lamb Chops Excellent and the Chicken Kiev perfectly done. Service was excellent. Don't know what could have made it better..A repeat visit will definitely be in order!"

"Maybe it's the feeling a supper club is supposed to have, but our entire meal had the feeling of a pace that was too quick. Our wait staff covered the basics, but neglected refills and silverware replacement. My chair got bumped into multiple times by staff. It was very noisy, so not the place to come for an intimate conversation or to linger over a meal. Again, perhaps the feeling was supposed to be that way, but it was not my idea of a relaxing dinner atmosphere."

"I was impressed with the decor when walking in. The hostess was friendly with a smile. The food was very good. When there was a question about any item, the server was very informational about the ingredients and how it is prepared. When one item was not exactly what was requested, mangement was very helpful in correcting the issue. The service was top notch and the prices were very reasonable. A very good pick for any meal or occasion."

"Went for Mother's Day Brunch which consisted of a menu which you picked out your appetizer, entree, and then dessert. Nice selection and the appetizer and dessert were normal sized portions, but the entree itself was very small. My teenage son ended up eating some of mine and my wife's, as we both offered him some of ours so he had enough to eat. I cannot comment on their food for lunch's or dinner's as we have not eaten here for that, but I doubt I will be back."

"Standard dinner menu. Service was so-so; the waiter seemed inexperienced. (This seems to be a common theme from prior posts.) The food was OK but nothing special and therefore overpriced in my opinion. Rolls that were set down before dinner were hard and stale; relish plate a few green onions tossed on top of carrots, celery, radishes and pickles. It was very NOISY, and difficult to have a conversation at our table. There were no candles on the table, no music, and the lighting was far too bright for my taste--it made it feel more "cafeteria" like and not like a nice supper club. The "Bartalottas" name tends to imply "something special." Unfortunately not in this case; all the food was just "OK" nothing that stood out, not worth the money."

"We went to Joey Gerard's for their Mother's Day brunch. To sum up our experience: the service was terrible. Our coffees were always empty, we were never asked if we wanted another drink from the bar and we waited at least 30 mins in between courses (they had a 3 course brunch). Plus when our entrees came out, they were luke warm at best. Don't waste your time on this place. They still haven't worked out the kinks on serving a brunch that doesn't last over two hrs!!"

"My wife and I dined here at 6:00 pm on Saturday 5/11/13. The place was full but the service was very good. We were not rushed on any course and we did not have to wait very long for the next course or the bill. I had the Filet Mignon (perfect medium rare) and my wife had the Steak Diane (Medium) also done properly. Will be back."

"Our 8th visit was still not a charm. We regularly patronize all Bartolotta establishments, and while we love having Joey Gerard's in our back yard, it still fails to live up to the brand we know and love. The staff is very pleasant and professional yet each visit there has been some mix up or mistake. Our beautiful bone in filets were mixed up, based on our only difference in order, the sauce. One MR steak was perfectly prepared, with a juicy red center. The other had a dry pink center. Nice flavor, but definitely over cooked.
We will continue to try. We have heard the brunch here is fantastic, so we will return with the family to celebrate Mother's Day. We hope that will be the perfectly memorable experience we have been waiting for!"

"Built in the tradition of an old fashioned Wisconsin Supper Club, Joey's strikes almost all of the right chords. From the incredible service (extremely friendly and very helpful when ordering) to the relish tray with green goddess dip and cracker/bread basket, this is a blast from the past updated to accomodate foodies. The specialty drink offerings are excellent and nearly all liquers used are distilled right here in Wisconsin. Old favorites like Wisconsin Old Fashioned, Harvey's Wallbanger and Sloe Gin Fizz grace the menu. Prime Rib specials and excellent steaks, including a wonderful bone-in filet mignon, also make this an enjoyable trip down memory lane. Casual to semi-casual dress is all good!"

"Very cool atmosphere. Food was good but not great. Appetizer portions were small, had oysters rockafeller and escargot. When the appetizers were brought out I wasn't given a clean plate to use. I had to use my bread plate that had the butter wrappers on it. Most top restaurants pour your wine for you. We had a total of 2 bottles at our table and the only time it was poured by the wait staff was to taste it. Wait staff was polite and friendly but not on par with other steakhouses in Milwaukee.
I would not return."

The service was good. The food was average, entre was warm not hot. Salad was very good. Desert was very good. I didn't feel that Joey Gerard's compares to other Bartolotta's in quality of food. In my opinion, the value was only fair."

"The food and service at Joey Gerard's was excellent. There were four of us for dinner and although the food was high quality and well prepared everything was served warm, versus hot. The soup, the entrees, and even the coffee was room temperature. Since the food temp was consistent for all four of us, we did not comment to our wait staff but rather believed the food may have been sitting in the kitchen for a bit before being served.
One in our party was celebrating a birthday and a complimentary dessert, with candle, was a very nice touch."

"While we enjoyed very good food and service (we expect nothing less from Bartalotta restaurant) the noise level in the space made it nearly impossible to converse across the table. I don't mind paying for good food and service but when I have an evening out with friends I do not think I should have to shout to be heard. All four of us at the table felt the same way. I doubt we will go back."

"This was our third time here. After each visit, I've been a little disappointed. I've tried three different items on the menu and each time I'm just not "wowed" as I typically am with the other Bartolotta restaurants. The service has been slow and not too spectacular. In the future, I think I'll continue to spend my dollars at Lake Park Bistro or Bacchus."
