"My wife and I went to Nantucket for the first time. We had no car and so we needed to walk to a restaurant. We chose Dune and had a lovely time. I had swordfish (1st time) and my wife had lamb chops. Both were excellently prepared. We sat upstairs which was quiet - the bar downstairs was a bit more lively. Our waiter was excellent and the wait between our drink, main course, dessert/coffee was just right - not waiting too long but definitely not rushed.

Dune was not cheap (although most restaurants on Nantucket seemed pricey) but this being a special occasion we both felt it was worth the money spent."

"Dune is one of our favorite restaurants in the world (really). The food, service and ambiance are always amazing.
We always trust our waiter for recommendations and we have never been disappointed. We've had incredible light
lunches at the bar to several special occasion dinners in the dining room - and the bar is a fun spot for a drink - especially
during Christmas Stroll."

"Great oysters. My beets were amazing and the lamb was in the 98 percentile. The white peach and basil sorbet was phenomenal. The visit was positive for my entire party. Half-sized portions were noted, appreciated And hungrily ignored. :)"

"We had dinner in the dining room near the bar. Noise levels and music were very loud. The food which is good with some adventurous selections does not match the ambience of the dining room. Imagine trying for fine dining in a bar atmosphere."

"Decided on Dune because all my first choices were closed on Tuesday this early in the season. Could not be happier that they were.
I had the gnocchi and shrimp app. It was lick the plate clean delicious. Also of note were the half shell oysters... Never had better."

"Excellent food in a beautiful contemporary yet small setting.

Very good food - of note, the bacon maple ice cream and the gnocchi - both incredible. Loved the lamb chops and the hake.

Our favorite meal on the island over this long weekend."

"We were a party of 10 there for a busy daffodil weekend. The food was pricey but good. Small portions. The noise level is a problem when the room is full. Our waiter, Tom, was attentive, engaging, and funny. We will go back when the outdoor dinning is open."

"Thank goodness we were finished when we were. A loud, large party of 10 were seated in our room when we were paying for our meal. We couldn't talk to each other without yelling over the noise.

Overall we enjoyed the restaurant, but it lacked professionalism with the staff."

"Excellent place for a vibrant positive experience at a vacation destination especially in the off season.
I would recommend it again and again especially for the half plates if you are torn between two or three choices. Then get a half plate of all three.
You won't be disappointed."

"The menu is not large, but it is well thought out and everything we had (party of 3) was delicious. There is also a vegan option & some vegetarian options as well. By the description is is not the typical veggie plate, either."

"We love this restaurant and have been here many times, both in-season and in the winter. It is great that they have decided to remain open all year. We have never had a dish or meal that was disappointing;seafood is especially good. The diver scallops are the best on the island. Also the waitstaff is really terrific and knowledgeable.

Our only complaint is the decor. From the outside, is it it is a beautiful old Nantucket house. In our opinion, it is unfortunate that once you get inside, you could be in any big city, Including New York or Los Angeles. Personally, a mixture of both modern and traditional artwork could help, as well as using padded dining chairs."

"Dune is exceptional. In my opinion it is one of, if not THE, best on the island. And I spend alot of time here and eat out often. Although the ratings are very good, the fact that they aren't even higher is probably due to the fact that it is a relatively new establishment. Service is always great as well and they are wonderful at accommodating special requests. Elegant, unpretentious, creative and delicious. Go. You won't be disappointed."
