Nicholas and Alison St.Clair would like to welcome you to Antebellum. We opened our doors in early 2012. Antebellum is located in the Historic District of Flowery Branch. Our menu consists of locally grown vegetables and humanely raised animals. We hope our guests experience hospitality and southern ingredients at their finest. Antebellum is a celebration of southern cuisine.

"Antebellum made it a great Mother's Day for a wonderful 90 year old Southern lady. A bit of a drive from Roswell - but well worth it. The brunch buffet was excellent - everything was regularly "refreshed". The staff was extremely helpful and cooperative.. Antebellum has been bookmarked for a return visit.

"My wife and I had heard the fried chicken at Antebellum was special, so we went on Thursday to check it out. That is the special on Thursdays. Well, we were in for a treat. We continue to be amazed at how Nicholas can take deeply traditional southern dishes and improve on them unbelievably. The chicken was juicy, tender, exceedingly flavorful and generous. Someone else's chicken says it is 'finder licking good' but Nicholas has proven that to be true with his. I will go back on many Thursdays to have this again. I matched that with a Kungfu Girl Riesling and found that to be a worthy wine with the chicken. It was the chef choice for a wine to match. Also had Nicholas's grilled okra. I love okra and this did not disappoint."

"We enjoyed the delicate favors of the unique entrees offered. I felt appreciated when presented with wonderfully plated foods that were full flavored and had class. It was the first time I've been presented with a plate that could have been given to a food network judge.

"Four of us went for Sunday Brunch, and the food and service were very good. We especially enjoyed the setting in an old house converted to a restaurant. While there noticed several groups that were having Brunch there also. We were there at 10am when it opened and the placed filled quickly, so I would recommend having reservations to avoid a long wait for a table."

"This was the first visit to the restaurant. One of my neighbors mentioned it and we wanted to try. Heard good things about the restaurant. It was, to me, a gourmet country menu, and it was very good. Didn't eat the carb items.....like the grits, and not sure what was in the fried green tomatoes, but passed on that too, but my friends definitely enjoyed. Very different and a great place to take people for the first time. Looking forward to a brunch sometime. The noise level was very high and it was difficult to hear each other talk. One of the ladies had to put her sun glasses on until the sunset was over with as there was nothing to soften the sun rays coming through the window. Overall, excellent time!"

"As always the food does not disappoint! Our table split two salads and then had wonderful entrees : Shrimp and Grits (always a favorite), Scallops, Salmon and the Short Ribs (last of the season as they are changing to their summer menu).
Nick sent out some fabulous deserts as we were celebrating my Mother's 84 birthday. Nick always makes a point to round on the table to make sure everything is to the customer's satisfaction. We are so happy to have a fabulous, fine dining establishment in our neighborhood."

"We always thoroughly enjoy our dinners at Antebellum. Nicholas and Alison truly have a unique restaurant tucked away in Flowery Branch. It is worth the effort to try out this refreshing new style southern culinary extravaganza. I am so pleased with them after having been there many times. Dianna and I will continue to go and try all the new appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts that Nicholas puts on the menu. It is an exciting trip there every time. Vincent will ensure you have the meal of your dreams while there."

"So glad to have this restaurant in the Lake Lanier vacinity. More modern, upscale dining is much needed in this area. Food is inspired by farm to table trend with utmost freshness and local sourcing. Don't let southern inspried discription fool you. This is not a meat and potatoes feed mill. In fact, portions are a bit small and all courses are ala carte. Hilights of our recent Saturday night meal were the corn chowder, beet/pickled carrott app, seared scollops, and the baseball cut steak. All were perfectly prepared as described. Bar area is small. Drink and wine offerings are more than adequate. Overall, very nice restaurant for couples or small groups. Maybe a bit quite for a crowd or small children."

"My wife and I have eaten at Antebellum's several times for dinner, brunch, or lunch, and the menu and quality, while good at the start, have gotten better each tme. The food is extraordinary; by far, the best example of 'nouveau Southern' food anywhere north of the Perimeter. (IMHO}There were really innovative combinations of flavors that all came off perfectly. Our waiter, Vincent, was a pleasure--knowledgable, courteous, friendly. and efficient.
This was a 'spur of the moment' Saturday dinner for date night with my wife, and we both were very happy with the choice. I heartily recommend this spot in old Flowery Branch--now, if someone would just open a nice, tapas bar with music, coffee and drinks to finish the evening!"

"Another great dining experience at Antebellum. Had the new Grilled bread with Benton Ham appetizer - it was absolutely one of the best appetizers you can get in a restaurant. Again, Nicholas has taken Southern ingredients and given them a California flair that 'makes your mouth' happy!!! Then we progressed to his unique hamburger that puts together a blend of ingredients which provides flavor sensations that open up a new respect for hamburgers. I hope to be able to come close at my house for the July 4th holiday. Wonderful dining awaits you at this restaurant. Ask for Vincent to be your server - he is awesome..."

"So glad to have found this spot. We came for brunch last sunday and absolutely loved it. It was good that we had a reservation because the place was pretty full, but rightly so. Completely delicious, charming atmosphere, good location.
I thought the menu was complete, but not exhaustive. There probably could have been more variety, but I'm not complaining – I loved my country fried pork chops and the grits were just the way I like. My girlfriend had the eggs benedict which were delicious as well, though the green tomatoes could have offered more flavor and texture. I'm thinking a minute longer in the fryer and a light dusting of pepper. Just my opinion.
We'll definitely be back. Looking forward to eating out on the porch!"

"I loved the idea of a restaurant being in a house like setting. The waiter gave us impeccable service and the food prepared by a chef was amazing.
I would highly recommend putting this restaurant on your "to do" list!!
Being that it is in an old southern house (part of its charm) does create the noise level to be a bit louder than you might expect."

"Another great dining experience at Antebellum. I went to try the Sweet Corn Soup and was not disappointed. What I had for dinner that caught me by surprise was the steak entree. I wanted a Cab for wine and determined that only the Justin Isosceles would do. However, that can only be truly enjoyed with a medium rare steak. I ordered the beef tenderloin medium rare to go with this great wine. I was blown away by the steak. Perfectly prepared without an overload of spices - which many restaurants tend to do with their steaks. I almost never order steak in a restaurant because of the over seasoning that occurs. Did not happen at Antebellum. It was absolutely wonderful and complemented the wine perfectly!"

"the only negative thing I can say is I was a little chilly. We were there on a very cold windy night. will go again for sure! We had mentioned it was our anniversary when we made our reservation and the hostess commented and of course our waitress. we also were served complimentary champagne. It was a very special night."

"In one word, Spectacular!! Had Nic's Shrimp and Cheesy Grits. Now, I've had Shrimp and Grits all over Georgia and they've all been very good. But, Nic's is head and shoulders above any I have ever had! From start to finish this place has class. Absolutely wonderful appetizer: andouille sausage with fried chicken with an accompanying sauce that just rocked my world. I told our server, Vincent that I could easily come there and only order that appetizer and that would be a great dinner. By the way, Vincent did a stellar job for us as our server. If you live within 50 miles of this gem in Flowery Branch, you need to go there. You will not be disappointed. Nic and Allyson have really got the hottest place around in my opinion!"
