"Mark Dine & Tap was truly a "find" on Open Table! I've never been steered wrong - and this was no exception. Food and service were excellent, and we greatly enjoyed eating on the patio on a pleasant spring evening. The location near the Notre Dame campus was a plus!"

"The Mark has unique and delicious food. They always have a nice selection of specials along with a varied menu.
Many healthy choices as well as great treats for dessert. They have well cooked and seasoned vegan choices, comfort food with a twist, and good "meat and potatoes" selections.
Well thought out craft beer selection.
The owner is there when not at The Uptown Kitchen, his other local spot. He is very friendly and accomodating.
You should try it."

"We had reservations for 6 pm and theatre tickets on campus for a 7:30 show. While the food was good, it took about an hour to get it. My group felt so rushed, we didn't get to enjoy the food. We sat there for quite some time before a drink order was taken. At that time we also ordered our food. Had I not asked a manager where our oder was, I don't know if we would have been able to scarf down our food fast enough to get to the show on time. I have been here before and enjoyed the food and service. I would not recommend it if you want a quick meal."

"The food was good and there was a wide variety of options. I liked the spin on basic food into something more intriguing. It was a little loud. "I wish you to know I travel annually to the University to see friends who live in the South Bend area. I was a guest at your restaurant for dinner on Sunday 4/7 and lunch and dinner on 4/8. Since the Morris Inn is undergoing renovations, one of my guests suggested your restaurant. I enjoyed everything about your restaurant; especially my new best friends in the bar area; Neal and John. But the acoustics I did not enjoy. The ambient noise created by all the activity made it almost impossible to hear my guests when they spoke in a low voice. I recall your ceiling is metal embossed design while your flooring is linoleum; two items that make for an echo, a reverberation and magnification of sound. I regret to tell you this problem."

"I love the Mark! The menu is pretty unique, with lots of cool combinations of food. Everything is very high quality and reasonably priced, and the net part is that it's within very easy walking distance from Notre Dame's campus. We went there for my friend's birthday, and all 10 of us had a great meal and a great experience overall!"

"The food was very good. When eating gluten free and vegan this is not always a statement that can be made. The portabella sandwich had such a good flavor. The sweet potato fries were baked and I would have liked seeing less black ones but they were a good compliment to the sandwich. The atmosphere was happy, the staff seemed to make it a point to be happy themselves and that transferred to the diners."

"Our waitress struck us as cold and unhelpful. She consistently changed the options on the dessert menu, making it very difficult to decide on desserts! We felt rushed in our ordering, as if the restaurant wanted us to be in and out in less than an hour to fit in more customers. While the service was less than ideal, the food was very good and the wine list was fantastic! It would still be worth trying your luck--perhaps we just went on a bad night for the waitstaff."

"I was very happy with our visit. My only issue is that I was planning on using my cell to make a few calls and also email a few clients back. I was unable to make any calls or use the web. I moved to a differenct spot in the restaurant and had the same issue. A patron who I was seated next to had told me that they have the same problem whenever they visit the restaurantas well. "Great food with fresh ingredients, great friendly service, comfortable atmosphere, and portions that are just the right size. What else is there to say, other than it is a restaurant to put on your favorites list.
One more positive. We ate there on Valentine's Day and they did not create a special limited over price menu just for Valentine's day, like a lot of restaurants do.
I don't understand some of the bad reviews I have read. We have never had a bad experience or bad food at the Mark or its sister restaurant the Uptown Kitchen. Both are restaurants we highly recommend and go to frequently."

"The menu was limited, more like a pub menu than a nice restaurant. It was way too loud for us. Hard to carry on a conversation without shouting. Service was good and prompt. The food was good, but nothing special. Dessert was very nice, probably the best part of the meal. It was also quite drafty and we were not close to the door but every time the door opened it was cold. I had dined here when it first opened and I remembered a much more up scale menu and experience than we had on Saturday."

"We dined here last night for dinner, I made reservation via Open Table, I don't think it was really necessary however. We ate early, they weren't very busy yet. Traffic did pick up during our dinner. We were greeted and seated promptly, we sat in one of the booths against the windows, directly inline with the front door. So every time someone came in you felt a cold blast of air, we were in the third booth back. I will say it was extremely cold and windy that day. The menu is very eclectic, quite a selection to choose from. Our server was very nice and friendly, didn't mention any specials however, and I did over hear the table behind us in a different server section getting explained specials.
